I’m sure there are people who find watching this video soothing. At 10 minutes I thought, “ok, he’s done.” At 15, I could feel a tightness in my chest - “surely he’s done.” With each passing moment from there I could feel what could only be described as a full-blown anxiety attack in the works. I could only think, “this is what people feel like during a really scary movie!” By the end I had to step back and calm myself down. And when I settled myself down I realized that as an artist I have zero patience for detail and my ability to handle detail brushes is next to nothing. My sweet spot if I have one is expressionism.
Having said all of that, and as others have said before me this is a stunning piece of work that demonstrates the artists patience, commitment, craft and capability. His eye for detail, command of the brush, sense of and ability to mix colour are incredible. Whether inherent or learned his talent is off-the-charts! Still, I’m afraid to check my heart rate as I finish writing this!

This is such a beautiful & peaceful scene. There were several times I thought it was finished but it kept getting better. I really enjoyed watching this develop. I might try this or something very similar in oils.

I’m a beginner and I really need a list of colors you’re using can you please list them. I would love to follow you to learn more, but I’m new with colors and they keep turning out brown when I do them on my own to try and match.

I just saw this painting and had to watch and subscribe... how can you call this a painting for beginners??? you have put in so much detail... your sky and water are beautiful and the way you get the path to look as though it is going through 8" of snow is perfect. I am an 82 yr old amateur painter and would love to have a go... can you tell me what size canvas you used please... meanwhile all I can say is that I absolutely LOVE this painting... :)
