Excellent rock n roll drummer, nice guy. When he played with the straits he was the only one to believe it was still rock n roll and keep the band and music alive in concert. His work with dave edmunds is great, he gives his best. Terry rules ! Swansea for ever !
I love this band. Dave is a God and Terry Williams is the best rock drummer on Earth and I don't give a damn what anybody says. is metering is flawless his fills are perfect and his style is impeccable
Terry i came across your name in a book about Tom Petty. Never knew your background til recently with Dire Straits and Rockpile. Did you play with Dave Edmunds back when he down the Big Buzz on the Swansea Waterfront around 12 years ago?
Terry I'm a big fan of your playing. Saw you in the Manband in LA (Hawkwind opened) and later with Rockpile in San Francisco. I'm a drummer and you've influenced my playing tremendously. Still dig the records. C'mon, Heart of the City, Ride and the View, so much more!
Ya, years ago I loaned him my Telecaster while he was visiting his cousin on the island I live on. He had it for a month or so and left some magic on it. I still play it quite often. Here is a link to a photo drive.google.com/file/d/0B2i4eYH0qDUAQVJDd0c1bGtlTXBMVnppNGFiNGo0eHp1Sjlj/view?usp=sharing
Hello Terry. I love watching Alchemy. I think it's the best music video ever and I think you are the best drummer in the world and when you was in alchemy you was excellent. Regards Matt webber
What perfectly, flawless fun. I'm sooooo glad I stumbled on this gem. Terry Williams was a bit of a friend back in the Man Band/Rockpile days. Most of the shows my radio cohorts and I enjoyed were from backstage--cool times. Oh--to see these guys again--wow!!
I liked Mal Popes rapport with DE’s when he interviewed him -you could see he was really relaxed & they played guitar, shared notes on Daves guitar technique & sang in harmony in between some brilliant stories 👌😎 This video too is great too 😊 a really good blend of talent on stage 👏👏
I was lucky enough to grow up in Cardiff so saw got see the likes of Dave E and Micky Gee on many occasions. Recall one memorable Sunday afternoon in what was then Gassy Jacks enjoying a pint with Micky Gee and a few others, some a local band who killed Stairway to Heaven, So much so that Micky got up "borrowed" the guy's guitar and showed him how it should be done, all without removing his cigarette, not sure the poor bloke ever ever picked a guitar again.
Just as Keith Moon provided The Who's energy, Terry does the same within whichever band he plays (The Straits, Dave Edmunds etc) but, thankfully, without the "Look at Me" mania and random ordnance explosions that were Mooney's trademark!
Dave is right up there with the very best guitarists in the world. Although he never had the same scale of commercial success as Eric, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck etc., his talent and craftsmanship are equal to any of those guys....he's a total legend!
"I Hear You Knocking", back in the 80s on one of those Sunday night King-Biscuit type interview shows, Dave was talking about his first big 'break'. "I Hear You Knocking" was a big hit in England, but it was a cover of a famous song, and usually if you cover somebody else's song, the original songwriters & publishers make almost all the money. But he said that he made enough money from: "Hear U Knockin'" that he was able to buy a castle somewhere in England, where he made a recording studio. And from his playing around inside his own personal recording studio, that's where he developed the skills that ultimately made him successful.
Dave is a guitar magician but he always respected and loved Mickey G , no comments are adequate for Terry who is one of the all time worlds greatest rock drummers magical set
Love this! I think Dave is channeling a bit of his hero Albert Lee in the first track. I bought Christmas at the Patti when it came out. Wish I had it now, bet it’s a real collectors item. Was there ever another 10 inch live double album? Great memories 😊
@@daveedmunds4609 Hi Dave, hope you are safe and well. Thanks for all the decades of fantastic memories and great music. I’ve been a fan since I Hear You Knocking when I was 10 years old!

If you ever read this Dave was you referring to the beautiful Switch master Gibson as the valuable piece. One reason I love Rockpile is for the tasty Gibson’s from the iconic pic of the Beverly brothers with J200s to the twin Gibson’s of Bremner and Edmunds
Hi Dave!.. Great to see you on there. I’ve been to around 200 concerts but I never got a chance to see you which I regret.!. Hope you are well ..take care

Not “just” the drummer in the band 🤩
And micky gee is a great player
@@tedwilliams3472 You are quite correct. I saw Mickey with Dave twice back in the 80s. The man was a guitar God.

I saw Mickey Gee & his band play in Penarth a few years ago. A great guitarist and a gentleman.
Dave is right up there with the very best guitarists in the world. Although he never had the same scale of commercial success as Eric, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck etc., his talent and craftsmanship are equal to any of those guys....he's a total legend!
Did Beck have a lot of commercial success? Perhaps the Yardbirds made some money, and after that I don’t remember him having hits, at least in the US.
Tattyshoes Shigure are you mad?
He's actually quite a bit better than those guitarists
Mickey Gee. One of the best ❤
Brilliant. Real rocking music by gifted musicians.

Rick parfitt of Status Quo was excellent at doing the "rackaracka" style of playing
It was Francis Rossi & Rick Parfitt playing both rhythm guitar what made Quo unique
