For those who don't get the Wayne Rooney joke: This show aired 5 days after England was eliminated from the 2010 World Cup in the round of 16. Rooney was England's top striker (potential goal scorer) but he failed to score a goal in 4 matches. It was a very timely joke.
True fact...I'm an American who has been in NZ for 3 years, and, yeah, the Brit sense of humour is WHACK. The more you rag on someone the more you like them. This is true in the Southern States, but we wouldn't go this far. The Brits don't have that Evangelical base-level to start from...so I totally get this.
I don't think there has ever been a time where this delightful man has not entertained me, made me smile, made me laugh out loud and felt thoroughly glad that I listened to his marvellous improvisations. I think he is gorgeous.
My early exposure to him was via "Happy Little Africuns"...I couldn't decide if he was amazing or openly awful. I've since discovered that "amazing" is the correct choice.
My favorite part is how sincere Wossy looks at 0:16 . It's beautiful. And then 0:21 he's offended, at 0:25 he's considering it, and 0:30 he's offended again. He laughs at 1:28 though, so it's all okay.
I asked a friend if they knew who ' the legend ' tim minchin was. They replied: " Is he the crazy guy, that wears eyeliner but no shoes. And has wacky hair." All I could do was nod and say " exactly - the legend." x
This is amazing but you know that wossy has heard this song before. But still makes out it is his first time hearing this song. You legend Tim keep it going
I swear he's timeless. He always makes me feel better, even when he's condemning someone. I sure hope some of his countrymen hate him. Over here that's a sign you wont be going anywhere, because your stuff is quality.
Tim Minchin is a genius. Not that I'm telling you guys anything new. I just felt like saying it for the ten thousandth time. Because even that isn't enough.
Wikipedia:Sound is a mechanical wave that is an oscillation of pressure. An oscillation of pressureis a vibration. Sound, or "pressure waves", are generated by vibrating structures (e.g. vocal cords); these pressure waves can also induce the vibration of structures eg ear drums they are the same thing or at least a variant of.
i push tim minchin at my local pub, in truro, Nova Scotia, Canada. i hope that if he gets enough interest he'll bring his show this way. i would love it.
In that sense, you're right. The way datyrantrules8D says it, it makes it sound like deaf musicians can hear through they're feet. It does feel extremely awesome to play music barefeet :D
you don't need to hear the sound to be able to play it, you can sense the beat through the floor and play your bit and keep in time with other musicians without being able to hear it, this is sometimes needed in huge stadiums where you cant really hear yourself or other musicians. However you are right, this is NOT the reason Tim Minchin does it, he does it because it makes him feel more at home :)
@Ludovician1 In the lyric "Just one night, Jane, would embiggen me". From the Simpson's ep. "Lisa the Iconoclast", in which it's revealed that motto of Springfield is "A noble spirit embiggens the smallest man"... A word that Mrs. Crabapple had never heard before moving to Springfield (tho a "perfectly cromulent word, according to Miss Hoover!)(Both words have gone on to modern usage & inclusions in dictionaries!)

Chlegend22 oh thanks I was wondering that!
That makes much more sense. Never heard of him, thought he might be gay.
I always thought he just meant his wife had no chance with Rooney. It's 100 times funnier now.
He meant that as well, classic Minchin double entendre.
I feel like when you know he's a footballer you can assume
The level of respect Tim holds for Wossy is so noticeable. The mutual amiability shared between the two is charming, really!
Yes, you can tell by the lyrics too.
Lucas Pelegrino - Ahahaha.
A proper bromance between them both

@@Crimethoughtfull Tim's Australian, but they share the same kind of humour in many ways, so it still works...
"Couple of whips and an under water camera" !! Spat my tea up my nose!
Love isn't all wine and roses. Sometimes it's handcuffs and cheese.
I really really want to see how Jane reacted to this.
Also, the 'oooh!' at 2:24 had me on the floor.
2:24
*OOOOH*
I don't think there has ever been a time where this delightful man has not entertained me, made me smile, made me laugh out loud and felt thoroughly glad that I listened to his marvellous improvisations. I think he is gorgeous.
Veronica Denyer dont know if you have heard it but he was on conan and preformed a song called 'inflatable you' one of the best!
Yeah, Tim's not bad either.
My early exposure to him was via "Happy Little Africuns"...I couldn't decide if he was amazing or openly awful. I've since discovered that "amazing" is the correct choice.
The preciseness of the changes in Tim's face at 0:27 - 0:29 never ceases to kill me. I laugh my ass off every time. He's such a damn good actor.
Now THAT is what I call tallent. Writing a song for one single show and hitting it out of the park. Brilliant.
Tim Minchin looks like a Tim Burton creation in real life 😂 I love it!
Betelgeuse but alive
H3 has referred to himself as "the love child of Liberace and Edward Scissorhands".
the look on wossy's face when Tim first says "wife" priceless
This man could sing about genocide hes commited and i would still sing along
Probably the kind of guy to sing about Christian genocide though
Same
Clever, clever man. Excellent Tim Minchin. Nothing compares.
+Sandra Shields Yea he's clever, Clever as Voltaire
(Please tell me someone got that)
Come over to the dark side and you'll get it too!
+Some guy Ha, after reading that again i got it. Thank you for that
@@ethanlammar9794 gotta love voltaire as well, both tim and voltaire do have the same sense off humor, just not the same instruments being used 😂
I need a Tim and Wossy team on a Big Fat Quiz.
All the yes.
It's a shame he is probably too busy these days with his broadway musicals.
How has this not happened? Did Jane say yes and now it's awkward?
My favorite part is how sincere Wossy looks at 0:16 . It's beautiful. And then 0:21 he's offended, at 0:25 he's considering it, and 0:30 he's offended again. He laughs at 1:28 though, so it's all okay.
+Bryce L They're friends... he's acting... it's banter...
and by the end he's making bruschetta.
I asked a friend if they knew who ' the legend ' tim minchin was. They replied: " Is he the crazy guy, that wears eyeliner but no shoes. And has wacky hair." All I could do was nod and say " exactly - the legend." x
Omg his voice at 2:37 when he says "with you" now that is pure talent. Tim Minchin is such a genius!
Gemma Leighton Because he sings from the heart. He said that as much as sung it. Tim is a beautiful, beautiful man.

That "OOO" at 2:24. Killer. I think that made the whole song.
Jonathan Ross' face at the beginning is amazing!
This is amazing but you know that wossy has heard this song before. But still makes out it is his first time hearing this song. You legend Tim keep it going
Isn't that grin just so cute!!! Watching his dvds and seeing that grin makes me giggle lol :')
I swear he's timeless. He always makes me feel better, even when he's condemning someone. I sure hope some of his countrymen hate him. Over here that's a sign you wont be going anywhere, because your stuff is quality.
