“Mi mam lived and died here, she loved it she did” Mam swore she’d not move away from Hyde Road and as much as my dad tried she didn’t. 🙂 bless her. Gets me every time I listen to it x
Genetically I'm southern. Historically I'm a Yorkshireman. But I've been a manc for 14 years. Both my kids are mancs. Most of my students are mancs, many of my friends are mancs. I was there that afternoon and felt what you see in that crowd. It was special. It is special. I'm proud to be part of that Manchester spirit
"There will be those who seek to divide us and spread hatred and fear here. You know, my closing words yesterday were "choose love". I said them spontaneously, but to choose love we need to reject fear, to reject hatred, reject lies, reject distortion and keep together as a diverse community." - Poet Tony 'Longfellow' Walsh.
Far left ranting bollocks. In fear of PC racial eugenics. White genocide. Social and racial engineering = racial persecution of the silent white majority.
Manc said proud you could offer me a million quid to move but I wouldn’t our history our culture our strength in hard times can’t be matched BRILLANT Poem Manchester IS the place
Proud Mancunian, my father once said he knew when he was near home when he saw "The North" signposted on the Motorway ,then when he saw Manchester he felt that much closer to home. He was from Yorkshire originally but came to Manchester in the early 50s with his German wife after he left the Army. They made a home and lived and died there and along the way raised My Sister and me , Strange to say I now live in Leeds and the roles are reversed, but when ever I see Manchester /Leeds I know I am near my home. The North is the best part of this country by a long long way.
The poem was beautiful, it was real, it felt like Manchester. Anybody here to throw any negativity on top of negativity is heartless and has no soul. This city is special.. It does have a vibe throughout its streets and buildings and is a cultural goldmine. Manchester is worth your tears and worth fighting for ❤️MCR forever
I love how they have a variety of different races on that stage to show that we accept everyone and that everyone is equal!❤️I’m so very proud to be manc and to live here where I know that no matter what, we are going to get through things whether people like it or not❤️😊
YOU may be going to get through things LaurenDoesThings, but not the children who were murdered. Are you ever going to wake up and realise that we are in a war being waged against us by Islam, and we need to FIGHT, not make sloppy speeches about equality and tolerance - the very things that Islam is against.
Nearly 7 years, can’t believe it ! I’m from Salford and my 21 year old son who lost someone from his school in the bombings has been in London this past year and has just been telling me how much he misses the people, he loves London the place but said if you could just import Mancunians of all creeds and colours into the place it would be so much better
All love Manchester All love for families Those criminals will enter hell I feel so broken heart for those innoccents victims I' m a muslim and I will stand side by side with manchestr Love you Manchester
Left Manchester when I was 6 some back in 1966 but try telling me I'm not a manc. My first 6 years of life spent in Manchester with manc parents and grandparents. I love this poem I'm so proud to be born in Manchester

MANCHESTER ALL THE WAY
I was there.
2:40 (ignore this)
We are accually nice
This is the place in the North West of England
It’s ace, it’s the best and the songs that we sing
From the stands, from our bands set the whole planet shaking
Our inventions are legends! There’s nowt we can’t make and
So we make brilliant music. We make brilliant bands
We make goals that make souls leap from seats in the stands
And we make things from steel and we make things from cotton
And we make people laugh, take the mick summat rotten
And we make you at home and we make you feel welcome
And we make summat happen, we can’t seem to help it
And if you’re looking for history then yes, we’ve a wealth
But the Manchester way is to make it yourself
And make us a record, a new number one
And make us a brew while you’re up, love. Go on!
And make us feel proud that you’re winning the league
And make us sing louder and make us believe it
That this is the place that has helped shape the world
And that this the place where a Manchester girl
Name of Emmeline Pankhurst from the streets of Moss Side
Led a Suffragette City with sisterhood pride
And this is the place with appliance of science
We’re on it, atomic, we strut with defiance
In the face of a challenge we always stand tall
Mancunians in union delivered it all
Such as housing and libraries, and health, education
And unions and co-ops, the first railway station
So we’re sorry! Bear with us! We invented commuters!
But we hope you forgive us - we invented computers!
And this is the place Henry Royce strolled with Rolls
And we’ve rocked and we’ve rolled with our own Northern Soul
And so this is the place to do business, then dance
Where go-getters and goal setters know they’ve a chance
And this is the place where we first played as kids
And me Mam lived and died here, she loved it she did
And this is the place where our folks came to work
Where they struggled in puddles, they hurt in the dirt
And they built us a city. They built us these towns
And they coughed on the cobbles to the deafening sound
Of the steaming machines and the screaming of slaves
They were scheming for greatness, they dreamed to their graves
And they left us a spirit, they left us a vibe
The Mancunian Way to survive and to thrive
And to work and to build, to connect and create and
Greater Manchester’s greatness is keeping it great
And so this is the place now we’ve kids of our own
Some are born here, some drawn here but we all call it home
And they’ve covered the cobbles, but they’ll never defeat
All the dreamers and schemers who still teem through these streets
Because this is a place that has been through some hard times
Oppressions, recessions, depressions and dark times
But we keep fighting back with Greater Manchester spirit
Northern grit, northern wit in Greater Manchester’s lyrics
And there’s hard times again in these streets of our city
But we won’t take defeat and we don’t want your pity
Because this a place where we stand strong together
With a smile on our face, Mancunians Forever
And we’ve got this* as the place where a team with a dream (*Forever Manchester)
Can get funding and something to help with their scheme
Because this is the place that understands your grand plans
We don’t do No Can Do, we just stress Yes We Can!
Forever Manchester’s a charity for people round ‘ere
You can fundraise, donate. You can be a volunteer
You can live local, give local. We can honestly say
We do charity differently, that Mancunian Way
And we fund local kids, and we fund local teams
We support local dreamers to work for their dreams
We support local groups and the great work they do
So can you …help us help… local people like you?
Because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes
Because this is the place that’s a part of our bones
‘Cos Greater Manchester gives us such strength from the fact
That this is the place. We should give something back.
Always remember. Never forget. Forever Manchester
