he's so unstoppable when he's posting up and attacking the rim, makes no sense when he takes contested 3s
I'm starting to think he's just avoiding getting banged up too much early in the game. He goes to the rim more in fourth.
Even giannis attempts 5-6 mid range pull-ups and like 2-3 3s a game even tho he can just drive every single time. I think it’s more if he’s trying to get into a rhythm and get his shot back. It’s frustrating as a hooper to be limited to one damn play all the time. But, it’s a maturity thing, which he got

bc that's how the NBA is dummy. what you sit on your couch and call a bad shot he makes with regularity. if he didn't have the green light to take those shots they wouldn't have the best record in the league. cannot stand people pretending they know basketball bc they read an article about how he's inefficient

Letting Tatum run directly at the rim is not the right game plan. Cavs were just clearing the runway for him, way too easy.
What happened to his three point shot last two years
His 3 is still lethal, he's just not a 40+ percent shooter from out there, Tatum typically shoots somewhere between 35 to 38% from 3 in a season, he also takes almost 9 threes a game which is a lot, with all the shooting the Celtics have I don't think he needs to shoot that many, and a lot of those attempts are off the dribble pull-up's and stepbacks. I looked up the stats, Tatum shoots 46% on catch and shoot threes, compared to just 29% on attempts off the dribble. When you look at his first couple seasons, he was primarily a catch and shoot 3pt shooter so he was up over 40% from 3 his first few seasons. But he's not taking as many catch and shoot threes, so his efficiency has gone down.

Wrist injury really fucked it up. Once he got it, he said he didn’t practice the 3 ball all off season after the finals and just shot it during preseason. He gotta get that rhythm back I think
