    Your channel helped me a lot to complete on foot missions that in the beginning for me was nearly impossible, I'm still new to the game but now I have the ability to progress in the game enjoying all it can offer! both on foot and ship missions, Thanks! BTW this game is awesome I wish it has a bigger popularity but I rely that on the difficulty of the game for new comers, it's definitely not like a casual game.

    Your pause and highlight technique is great. It's really a simple system in the end, but there's enough clutter and movement that it can be really easy to miss key details. Taking that moment does wonders towards fixing that.

    I encountered this one for the first time the other day and was quite surprised when I learned how far you had to go through the complex to find the alarms panel. I ended up scanning a level 1 id and using the south entrance, cutting into the level 2 area and going from there. It’s kind of funny how you need to go through at least 2 restricted areas to reach the alarms panel, but once you’re there, you can walk right up to it without anyone caring.

    For non-violent missions, this guide will be invaluable to many including myself. If you don't mind murder, I consider this one of the easier bases, as there's often just one person to deal with at a time, and no real overlapping pathing. I land near the back of the bases, get the SRV out and park it by the door. I cut it open, zap my way through all the NPCs to the alarms, disable, and then clear & loot. The SRV is handy because there are four data terminals at the bottom end of this particular layout, and I always go scan them. Walking there is tiring.

    @weisserth 2 года назад +2

    Brilliant.
    A couple of questions:
    9:47 You're not carrying a stolen profile. If you don't carry anything else prohibited, there should not be any harm in the guard scanning you, right? When I run difficult missions that require contraband on me, I put the prohibited item back on the ship (or SRV), run in and disable the alarm and level check first, then go back grab the mission items from the ship/SRV and complete the mission.
    13:55 Always disband your ship back to orbit while you're in abandoned/occupied/evacuated settlements. Sometimes I park my SRV in a difficult to see/no line of sight location (behind the power center at the edge of a settlement or behind a rim/ down a ditch etc.), so I have a location to recharge batteries/dump items/restock on consumables.
    Also, with this settlement type, do you know if it has one exterior atmospheric control for everything? If you arc cut into that and disable the atmosphere, you will not trigger the alarm but guards will swarm to the panel location to investigate, I've used that in the past to disrupt guard patrol patterns to sneak past as they rushed to investigate. Not sure if it'll be useful here.

      Some good suggestions.
      What I don't do in the guide but do tend to always do in general is loot goods. The pwr and hab lockers can contain scannable items. Absolutely, I could just let the guard scan me on the way in (and if I then turn off the alarms before the 2 minutes reset for him scanning again are up I can just run past that guard on the way out too). The workaround of leaving contraband behind is useful to know but the guard can always be avoided do I'd prefer to just carry it on me.
      The main risk this guard poses on the way in is getting seen when in the restricted area.
      Also, for me it's just a matter of pride 😂

    You are my ninja hero! Kudos on a quiet, bloodless mission.
    I always groan when I see that the target settlement is a single structure. It's pretty much guaranteed that I'll get turned around and lost at some point.

    Lol… I watched just one of your very early covert heist videos and thought “ok I can do a theft mission then” and where I ended up was this exact settlement layout!
    The mission itself was only rated Threat Level 3, but I’m discovering that has very little bearing on “difficulty level”. I managed to clone a level 2 profile (through a roof window), and got a fair way into the settlement… but was then spotted very shortly after entering the restricted area.
    So I came back to your channel to watch some more videos for hints, and seeing this same settlement described as “The hardest settlement in ED Odyssey” has significantly repaired my confidence!
    The main problem with Odyssey missions, I think, is that when you’re new to the game, you have very little idea of how difficult they’re going to be when you take them on. You really only find out when you arrive.

    • @frankshailes3205
      @frankshailes3205 2 года назад +4

      Yes, and when the target settlement is in another system, it's not possible to look up the Security level and size +++ reading on the system map. You can only see them on them on the left-hand navigation panel, once you are in the system. It would be much more useful to be told the security rating of a base than "threat level" on a mission.

  • @michaelstetson6890

    Currently, as long as you are not in a restricted area, your backpack doesn't contain anything illegal and you don't have a stolen authorization (easily ditched) AND you're not currently WANTED there it doesn't matter if the guards scan you or not. If there are NPCs that are in the way, you can scan them when they're turned away from you to see if they have a bounty on them. If so, you can... dispose of them, silently if you have to. If you don't have an appropriately silenced weapon you can use the Suit Recharger in illegal mode.
    There are missions where you may start off with something illegal in your backpack. These are missions where you need to upload something (spyware/virus) or inject something into a sample container thing. For these, you can move the illegal item from your backpack and store it in your SRV until you shut off the alarms/authorization scanners then return and pick the item back up to complete your mission.

    A very good place to practice this base is Fullerene C60 3. It's Anarchy so if you need to change to a Scorched Base plan it won't count against your notoriety. 👍🏻

    I have one of these for an anarchy faction right next to my home station so I do thiis one most often. I usually clone the level 1 guard outside the other end and then use the arc cutter to get into the lower level 2 room and there's only one guy there who never notices. For the bottleneck guard, I'll drop my cloned access, go past him and clone his ID when he walks the other way (and I can do the opposite coming out if I am going for no-kill).

    I've found cloning a Level 3 profile from the power centre exterior and using the south airlock a perfectly repeatable method of entry. I have a game clip showing this, but it isn't narrated so quite a bit more difficult to follow. I also zapped the guard because I got greedy with my timing. ruclips.net/video/Y91HkcYOprw/видео.html

      It's a great suggestion and it's the first method I used way back when and useful in other locations that have this window too. But sometimes that npc doesn't path up there. I actually think the example in this guide is one of those. The two researchers are on the ground floor.
      Still worth knowing about though.

    Hey StealthBoy! Love the videos, they are really useful and the explanations are great.
    - One note: Would love to see a series from you where you start Odyssey from scratch, and earn your first 100 million with only ground based stuff. Less of a guide, more of a story.
    - One question: Are the air control units useful for anything? I was experimenting with them, but did not have much of a result beyond putting the npcs on alert (yellow arrows)

    • @StealthBoyElite
      @StealthBoyElite  2 года назад +1

      A nice idea for a series. At some point I will begin streaming content so that would be a good idea for that.
      The atmospheric controls can be used as distractions, sort of. But it's not reliable and you generally don't want npcs on alert because they're much less predictable.
