Canyon: Please release the Strive:ON for order in the United States. I want to order one now. I'm stuck between buying this bike and another because I don't want to miss riding this summer. Excellent job on moving to Bosch; that is why I didn't order a Canyon in the past. I would also like to see the Bosch on the Torque:ON.
I had a new heart valve last September & there is no way I would have been able to get out & about so much on my analogue bike. I did have a Scott Aspect but then after my operation I bought my first emtb, a Turbo Levo. I think just getting out wherever is the point regardless of what you're riding & enjoying it.
Mee too 46 now can still ride like I'm 26. Got a 900wh battery in my spectral done some 70mile epics. I still ride my normal MTB but 25 miles on that and I'm done these days... burning more cals on the longer rides on the emtb.....
I love my 2014 Strive, but my asthma made me stop using it since a small climb would ruin my day. This thing looks like the solution for getting me back on the track. I want it, I need it, now! ❤
Also Canyon made Enduro-like Bikes before the Strive. We considered the first Strive actually more of an All Mountain option with its 140mm. Enduro Bikes were simply called Freeride Bikes and had 160-180mm travel and yeah, a shitty geometry :D
For me the key of having an Ebike is to have two bikes in one. A Downhill bike for descents and a good bike to the Hills. Is like going on bikepark by yourself.
Got to be electric for me ever since my motorcycle accident I find it hard to ride analogue bikes so give me EMTB every time I have a Cube hardtail atm
I recently got my first ebike, they are loads of fun but still have some draw backs. In the steepest terrain you can definitely feel the difference in weight on an ebike. To me it feels like the back wheel wants to slide out/around more. On an amish bike I never have any issues controlling the rear end. The ebike is much harder to "correct" and control. It takes a lot more effort to get the bike to do what you want it too. Ebikes are fun but they're not going to be replacing regular bikes. If I'm riding the gnarliest of trails I still want my 30ish pound enduro bike.
Have you tried a more serious softer compound tire? And what wheel size, I'd have to go 27" to gain more control over it. I get you tho, pros way more fit than I'll ever be say they're so much more exhausted climbing on ebikes, yet people still call them lazy ez motos
It also changed so much in fact that it changes who can do mountain biking now. Old age? Not the most physically fit? Looking for a good time? And EMTB all the way! Just ask my 50 year old dad who I drag up 2000-3000 foot hills every weeknd 😂.
@T Bone I have a 2022 Levo turbo and the motor is sensational. Crazy what I can get up with that thing. It feels nimble and playful going downhill too. I sized down purposely.
E-Bikes are nice, but unfortunately out of my reach with how much they cost. My job also doesn't offer leasing one so I'm all out of luck I guess. But I could just buy a car for the same money anyway.
I have both emtb and normal and tbh I’d rather ride my normal mtb, yeah emtb is fun but I mainly only use it if there’s quite a few hills on my ride, other than that normal bike all the way
So I am getting my Strive on underdog on Monday. The customer service convinced me to buy the Medium although all my Santa Cruz and Levos are large. I love the levos size and my Bronson feels a little cramped in cockpit. Am I going to regret buying the Medium being 5’10 with a 30 inch inseam.. Thanks for the help.
Mine arrived yesterday. The bike turned up in crap condition tho, scrapes on the frames all over and I don’t think it happened in transit. I’ve complained and awaiting a reply. What was the condition of yours on arrival please? 🙏
I would only buy an ebike for shuttling, even then i think it would null the DH. Just kills you watching them blast up the hills but its about quality rather than quantity of runs
God know's untill ridden both, either way judging by the price i expect 110% performance from both, however knowing Bosch motors the ebike will be outstanding compared to past models as manufacturers have put a lot of hours into designing the ebikes of today & very doubtful you would be disappointed
My definition of better right now would be to take bikes like the Transition Smuggler and make them cheaper so I can have more bikes. Having a motor bike is not for me.
I really believe e bikes are the future. , I mean 20 years of so, and they will be the norm for recreational riding. Go further, ride steeper hills and not get as tired. Awesome. The worse thing is getting disheartened. Then you quit The confidence boost ebikes give us a superb plus
It's not really a consumable part in the same way as tyres and chains are... you should get a good few years out of a modern eMTB battery before you'd ever think it might need replacing, and only because it isn't holding it's charge for quite as long as when new.
Then people who have no idea about them will have major misconceptions about them, like they already have/do. I enjoy watching all kinds of the mountain biking.. No one here is complaining about a bunch of park and downhill races being XC riders. Embn is perfect for all the specialty stuff but having some content on the channel is a good thing.
I don´t get whats the difference between Spectral On and Strive On now. It´s nearly the same kinematics and look . So please don´t compare apple with pineapple, it´s not the same. Especially without shapeshifter-technology 👀
Spectral On and Strive On are not nearly the same, take a look at the geometry, it's vastly different. The Strive On is much slacker and longer with a steeper seat tube angle.
Sorry not really interested E bikes, if I was I would watch your Ebike channel. I ride a normal bike to get away from the electronics of this world, hence I would not get the electronic dropper post or derailleur.
It is literally a comparison test between a regular MTB and and eMTB. You might have made your mind up already, but a lot of viewers might well be interested in what the actual differences are, and considering the pros and cons of both if they are in the market for a new bike - hence a comparison on this channel is legitimate content.
@@yodapig You make a very fair point. I would still like all E-bike content to be on the EMBN channel. It would be different if EMBN didn't exist, but it does. All of that said, I'm just one person and that's really all I expect my opinion to count for. Thanks for the reply.

As a Canyon owner, I can confidently say this view is wrong. Canyon support has been great. Servicing, well that's down to owners, and a good opportunity to support your local bike shop.

If you've followed the channel for more than a year I think its become very obvious that their job is to move product, and I think they haven't thought critically about their impact on broader issues like climate change and emissions output by how hard they push e-bikes (non recyclable batteries).
