Hi! Quick question! How feasible is it to get a SLPA job WFH/remote?

Hello!! Thank you so much for your patience! Those jobs are definitely out there! So for sure feasible!! There would just be less opportunities overall. But definitely worth a shot!!

What are your guys’ experience with male SLPs? Are they rare? Im sure they are treated and seen differently from women SLPs, but is the difference that big?

Hi, Melissa here! Good question. My grad school cohort only had two males in it, so definitely more more of a female dominated field. I don’t want to speak for any males that are in the field as far as how they are treated but I think this could be a good topic to discuss in an upcoming podcast. We’ll add it to the list and hopefully be able to answer more of your questions!

      Hi Marco,
I'm a male SLP with experience in school and pediatric clinical settings. We are a rare breed but its a cool field to be in. Drawing from personal experience, I haven't felt that I've been treated much differently on a professional level. I have noticed kids may respond differently to a male adult figure but this can actually be leveraged to your and their benefit!
Whatever the field or setting, you have to figure out what works for you and play to your strengths. The rest will fall into place!
