The Pioneer Array: Harnessing Wave Power to Collect Ocean Data

Sandia National Laboratories is using the power of waves to help collect ocean data. The Pioneer Array, part of the Ocean Observatories Initiative, provides publicly accessible real-time ocean data via satellite. The Pioneer currently uses wind and solar to power its sensors and instruments; however, they do not provide enough power to keep its systems online fulltime.
