@@kaizo4217 well you can tell if you can no longer see the person’s highlights, cause if you’re blocked from their story, you’re blocked from their highlights. Or if well that person doesn’t have highlights then you could ask to see their profile from someone else’s account who follows them. Well but if you CAN see their highlights but still feel like you’re hidden from their stories, or a friend of yours can see their stories but you can’t, it could be that the person removed you from their close friends and or is only posting their story is their close friend circle, which may no longer include you.

the only way they would know is if you have highlights on your instagram page. once you ban someone from watching your instagram story, the highlights go away as well, making it obvious that that person has been blocked.
