I LOVE buying bags of jewelry from the thrift stores. Earlier this year there was an authentic men’s vintage omega watch in the jewelry I bought. Had it appraised and it’s worth $5,000. Couldn’t believe it!!! So much fun!! ☺️
Put all the broken stuff in a bag and resell it for craft material. My sister makes Christmas Trees on board with the broken brooches. I also have a high school friend who makes shadow like boxes out of old rusty sardine cans that used to roll up with a metal key.
U of M university hospital has beautiful collage pictures made with broken bits of costume jewelry and tgey are very cool to see in their main hallways on the way to surgery.
LOL Even costume stuff sells, and if new, it can sell pretty well. I’m also excited to see the cool find. I sell jewelry that way (buying lots) and finding a treasure is a real hoot. If nothing else, you guys will learn some about jewelry and have some fun with it.
That box was MASSIVE! You can identify Pandora by the marks "Ale 925." The odds you'd have some gold or silver in there have to be pretty good! Happy digging 😊
I put jewelry together in quart jars and they sell well in my booth in Elgin. I have 50+ years experience dealing in jewelry. If you ever need anything looked at, I deal in vintage and antique jewelry. I don't mind taking a look. I'm not interested in buying but don't mind helping with identification. Might be a real good find!
I would for sure buy the box of jewelry... Costume jewelry is worth money too, and if there is any gold at all, which I am almost sure there would be, that would probably cover most of the cost. Risk worth taking for sure.
I buy jewelry in bulk like that and what is good to sell individually I list and the rest I lot up and sell in 2 or 3 pound bags. There are a lot of people that buy the bags to salvage beads or whatever to use in making crafts and jewelry.

Don't always look for gold or silver. Costume jewelry can be amazing. Worth a lot. Research! Look for vintage Monet, Trifarii, Julianna, St. John's, Haddie Carnegie etc.
Any loose beads or beaded jewelry that might not really sell on its own could be put up as a crafting lot. People take it apart and repurpose the beads.

Where I am, those Stitch stuffies would be sold inidividually, and the few jewelry bins I've seen the last five years have been major losers. I used to hit sometimes about a decade ago. Now they don't even sell jewelry in the stores at all.
$175 for a full big tub of jewelry is pretty cheap. Mine has a medium size vase jewelry and they price it at $100 and it would take 10 to 12 vases of that size to fill up the tub you bought so yeah, compared to my goodwill prices, seems like you get a good deal there😅
Mystery boxes are always so much fun. I get random frozen item bundles from a nearby food bank style place for $15 and its always worth it. Your good will mystery boxes were heaps of fun too.
Some of the modern costume would be good for the booth. Paparazzi is junk, hard core. I didn't see anything I'd have wanted, but ^5 on those golden goose charms!

Very rare to find gold or silver in goodwill, they have machines to detect precious metals and remove to sell online. You may get lucky with the tangles since they don't bother to untangle jewelry..
You need a loupe if you don't have one. It helps you see markings on back of jewelery. Some good costume jewelry brands sell well. Some decent ones are Trifari, liz claiborne, lia sophia, coro, Tiffany and co...etc.

I got a huge bin like that full of Lego for $50. Still selling from that bin, have easily made over $300 just on mini figures. I normally would never spend that much on a bin but decided to chance it.
I love jewelry box lots! It’s like a treasure hunt! I purchase them occasionally from local online auction sales. My favorite finds were a green Weiss cabochon brooch, and a red Weiss rhinestone brooch. I’m still hoping to score some Hollycraft! Also look for Coro, Trifari, and Monet.
I just bought a 30 lb box right after buying an 18 lb box so this looks oh so familiar! We haven’t been through the 30lb box yet, but the 18 lb box was definitely worth it. Although it did take us a long time to untangle the mess! 😬😬😬 and I would never have known about Golden Goose so I’m glad to know to look for that!
Those "hair ties" that Hayley pointed out could be vintage telephone cord bracelets from the late 80's and early 90's though I do see a bunch for sale new on various sites listed as hair ties so maybe they are those. I can't get a good look at them. There were thinner ones that I called slinky bracelets and were usually in neon colors. If you find any rubber feeling bracelets, those were popular at the same time... when the Jelly Shoes were a trend. They would often be worn in large amounts and/or entwined together. I believe there are photos with Madonna wearing those somewhere in her early years. I'm pretty sure that trend started because of her.
In the state of Misery...I mean, Missouri...NONE of the Goodwill stores sell jewelry anymore... definitely not jars, bags or bulk anyway. Occasionally you see a watch, but that's it.
hi just an idea if you get a broom handel or simiular and put it between two chairs you could hang all of the necklaces on it as you untangle them put earrings in small bag on a piece of card hope everything sells and you have fun doing it

Re-craft is a thrift store for crafters and artists. They have art supplies including yarn, fabric and sculpting materials. They also have jewelry and unique donated items. And office supplies- some free items for teachers.
Love the jewelry bin, great buy .You could sort al those button pins and sell them @ your booth, or make baggies of them and sell on whatnot. What ever you do with it it will definitely bring you profits.😊😊

My Mom had a bunch of costume jewelry she had stopped wearing, but would not get rid of it. I used it to decorate a table Christmas tree and she loved it! Good find!
