They sell on Amazon now for around $20 with Prime. Works like a charm.

tip. when unscrewing and screwing the blower fan in, use a 8mm socket. not a flathead. save a world of trouble. thanks for the vid!

Thank you so much for this video! I found a brand new blower motor online for $38.00. I've only owned this used 2005 Prius for about a year and ever since I've owned it there has always been a soft click click click sound from the blower motor as it ran. then the motor would intermittently stop and I would either have to take out the glove box and manually spin the blower motor to get it to start again or just thump really hard below the glove box and it would kick on... Now my new blower motor is quiet and strong. Thanks for the very clear simple video that helped guide me through this.

Thank you so much. The video quality wasn't in focus very good, but your vocal instructions made up for that. I replaced the blower in my 2004 Prius for $90 ahead of a day trip to Destin in 99 degree weather. This video was a life saver.

I thank you for taking the time to make this tutorial! Very helpful and spot on! Saved me a lot of time by watching before I started! P.S. The last 3 screws are a "Star" pattern screw. Not phillips or flat head, but a flat head will work. If you have the star bit, which comes in most multi screwdriver bit sets, it makes it that much faster and easier! Cheers! BTW, the 2008 is identical!

Great help, thank you, thank you. Went to Amazon and picked up a new blower for about $40 shipped to my door in 2 days with Amazon Prime. A new one from the Toyota dealer would have been $127 plus tax.
The only thing I would add is before you put it all back together, take a swiffer and clean out the inside, outside of everything and maybe wash out the white plastic and gray plastic things before putting it all back. My a/c and heater crank now, hot and cold. Your a lifesaver of my wallet and the dealer rip off. Well done

      @@knightriderusa:
Sometimes parts are cheaper in dealers than auto parts store.
Hub and bearings were cheaper at toyota dealer (original part) than autozone and o'rieles (or whatever the name is).

The problem with the blower motor on the Prius (at least Gen 2) is the motor brushes get dirty and the motor will not spin. It can be intermittent. To troubleshoot, remove the cabin filter and turn on the fan if it doesn’t turn just give it a quick flip with your finger (be careful). I’ll bet dollars to donuts it will spin. I cleaned my blower motor (08 Prius) at 95k and I’ve had to do it again at 140k. Cost me only a can of contact cleaner. Just pull the squirrel cage off, spray out the entire inside of the motor with contact cleaner, let it dry, lubricate the bearing, and re-assemble. No need to replace.......

My 05 was having the same problem, but when I initially searched I found nothing, as I looked for AC problems. I took it to Midas and they diagnosed it for 40. Plus they checked my Freon. They discovered that the Freon was 9 ounces low. They got the fan to work again. They suggested that I replace the control module for the the fan and the fan. They recommended that if it should stop again to tap on the blow motor to see if they will revive it. It is currently working. It is colder than before because of the added Freon. When I set it at MaxCold it gets to cold even if the outside temperature is reading 100 and that is accurate by + or - 2 degrees.

Paid $32 including delivery for my replacement blower from Amazon. For anyone watching, don't just assume it's the blower motor if you notice it stops blowing. Try ALL the different speeds first. Often times the resistor pack is what dies and not the blower. If the blower still works on the highest setting then it's likely the resistor pack that is bad.

Not the worst tutorial I've ever seen but you committed the cardinal sin of tutorial videos by not showing your work and the steps sure you can cut out mundane and screw work but actually showing how it comes out is a huge part of tutorial videos to the point where I actually had to go and find another tutorial just to cover the spots you skip
