This guy gave the greatest playoff performances ever! He's the GOAT in my eyes!
That is why MJ number 23 is represent as 23peat Championship. Awesome MJ and Bulls Team!

Everytime that Marv Albert say "Jordan", it just sounds iconic.

Jordan won many games that nobody would have faulted him for losing. Like this flu game. However he pulled it out because his will to win was crazy.
I don't think there will ever be someone with his level of craziness to win and passion for the game ever again, this is just an amazing sheer force of will performance, most guys would struggle to play a quarter with what he was dealing with, let along try to win the game

Jordan at 34, past his prime and has the flu > LeBron at 30
LMAO
Except LeBron at 35... Or LeBron at 22. Give me a break Michael is not as great as you guys put him out to be. He does not play all five positions and has always had help from his teammates to make him look good without giving much back. Want to argue? Look at the real debate going on in the other comment near this tread.
I don't even pickup my phone when I have the flu
the reality is jordan get food poisoned at that time
@@zhaf6481 I would not be surprised

This game cemented MJ's status as the greatest player to ever play in the NBA.
Battling the flu right now and I can’t even imagine how Jordan felt and continued to dominate that game feeling the way he did.
it was food poisoning, he ordered a pizza the night before and the utah pizza joint did something to his food so he wouldn't play well the next day, little did they know that they sparked the flames for one of the most iconic games in MJ's career.
I’m sick rn n I can’t do shit but I have a tornoment today, I’m playing today for Jordan
Edit: i had a 2 20 point games n 1 18 points game we went to finals but lost by 30 to gators
Especially with all those lights and that noise on top of running and throwing up all night. I would probably die on live television.
Adrenaline...... You actually don't feel it until you stop playing.
@@sipntea I don’t buy that story. I know that’s what they said in the last dance, but I really don’t think they called the pizza place saying they were ordering a pizza for Michael Jordan. He was definitely sick. There is no denying that. You could tell just by looking at him. But I guarantee there was a different reason that they are not telling us.
The fact I’m watching this 22 years later after seeing this live as a teenager in 98 and still get chills watching Michael Jordan take the heart out of every team he destroyed and the will to win will never be seen again in my life time or any time soon, Truly the greatest #GOAT
1997 :) #GOAT
Cisco Rivera yesss. I’m getting chills watching now🙌🏾 MJ is the undisputed GOAT!🐐
He just was a step ahead of everyone the whole time. 🤯 He gets double teamed but didn't even see it . . And knew that his teammate is gonna cut and be open. 🤘🏽 But everyone is going to double him! 🤣
they should have banned no. 23 jersey in nba only mj had the right to wear that number

We say "retire the number."
Sealof TheLiving lakers were trash before he joined
I will never forget the timeouts, Jordan not drinking the Gatorade and when he collapsed into Pippen’s arms.
90’s was Peak NBA
Utah’s first home loss in the playoffs that year. Chicago lost one in the regular season and 2 back in Utah before this game. Biggest game of the season with Mike coming up clutch. Best clutch player ever.
Jordan only shoot 3's if he needs too..
And
Nah he was a bad - serviceable 3 point shooter never his strong suit. He’s still the goat.
Before Bulls vs. Trailblazers finals. Interviewer: "Clyde Drexler is a better three point shooter than you." Jordan: "Clyde Drexler is a better three point shooter than I choose to be.". One of my favorite Jordan quotes....
@@GameChanger-xi4iy nah he was average and you could see it improve later in his career. I feel like he just didn’t need the 3
@@GameChanger-xi4iy nah he was an average 3 point shooter
You can't compare it to today where shooting a lot of 3s is considered a necessity
People forget not only was he sick, he was playing at elevation.
people forget, not only was he sick, but there were fans screaming at him, and the red jersey makes your temperature hotter, and the universe was tilted...
What are you smoking? Playing at elevation has an effect on your conditioning. You're just a moron if you feel you need to mock me instead of doing some research and seeing I'm right.
It certainly makes a difference. The thinner air at elevation makes cardio more difficult. Not to mention having to sleep in a hotel on the road, you typically get less quality sleep than you would at home in your own bed.

Food Poison Game!!! What an epic performance by MJ!!!!
respect to jordan. God of basketball.
As a Chicago fan, I will forever thank Portland for taking Bowie.
[Sad trombone sound]
In hindsight, both Houston and Portland passed on the GOAT. Houston at least got a legendary center who carried them to two championships.
Bowie had injury issues; he was considered to be a guy with a lot of potential. Plus the Blazers already had a 2 guard in Drexler.
But yeah. I'm a Bulls fan too. Michael needed to be in the heartland of the country. Not up in the Pacific Northwest.
He was America's player. Nike... Gatorade... McDonald's... starring in a music video with Michael Jackson.
Jordan transcended basketball similar to how Muhammad Ali transcended boxing.
Jordan is an icon.
The guy who currently plays for the Lakers is just a basketball player.
@@mikeroagreschen5350 No one could ever fault Houston for taking Hakeem. He was a great college player and ended up to be a hall of famer too.
“You’ve gotta foul! You’ve gotta foul right now! Karl Malone, what are you doing?!”
-Bill Walton classic commentary 😂
Even with coronavirus, Jordan still performed well that day! GOAT
Thats equivalent to corona virus
It was food poisoning
@@reduxmeister yea pizza
Yeah. Rumors are like assholes: Everyone has one.
Flu virus is a coronavirus. Agreed.
What this highlight reel doesn't show enough is what Jordan looked like during timeouts. The NBC crew and everyone I was watching the game with were really wondering if he was going to pass out. How he could pull it together and go out and play like that is unbelievable.
Jordan played while being infected with the corona virus and still won the game. Truly the goat.
That Dunk off the Pippen missed layup was 🔥🔥🔥
I got the flu 2 days ago and I feel like absolute shiiid, can't sleep at night, headaches the entire day, the worst sore throat, no energy in my body and a runny nose. I seriously can't imagine how Jordan pushed himself to be able to not just play but to have this type of performance, massive respect for the GOAT
When there's a will, there's a way.
He didn't have flu, he had food poisoning.
@@raknashirahrian1552 does that change anything
@@raknashirahrian1552 Both are still very horrible.

An Healthy Jordan Would've Dropped 49 Points

Facts 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🔥❤️🙌🏽
This is just one of a many factors that separate him from LeBron. Michael Jordan is the GOAT.
Edit: I commented this 3 yrs ago. Although i still think MJ is the goat, i think lebron has proven himself the boat(best player of all time). Its really hard to compare because of the different eras.
KingKlutch13 ....Oh, i guess you couldn't just separate the two by simply NOT mentioning LeBron in a comment for an MJ-highlight vid, huh.
@@theloverswineverytime1625 Exactly
Media is just desperate to have a new face of the NBA, prop up another player's ass and every God damn time they are compared to MJ. Looks like the goat is oh so clear to me when hes almost 20 years retired and people still talk about him. Others just play catch up.
Pls don't ever mention LeBron in the same sentence as MJ. MJ is in a league of his own
@@godschampion7569 My sentiments exactly!!!
I don’t think a game like this will ever happen again.
Unless It Was Kobe Bryant Who Would've Had An High Fever Now That'd Be More Impressive Than This
If I didn't know anything about Michael Jordan, this single game would tell me everything I need to know. Even back then, guys didn't play when they were this sick and this was no simple flu, it was food poisoning. That is why he was throwing up all night and day of the game. GOAT.
This man is a warrior 23 in red
This man was willing to die. That's what makes him the greatest.
Jordan was pure heart that night!😍
Jordan was just a beast. Even with covid he couldn't be stopped..
No Sickness Can Stop Air Jordan Or The Black Mamba Himself

That's how I feel now and I'm laying my ass down dog tired don't even want to move
God is God not human but he is number one player game of basketball
Look at Jordan man. So inspirational
My favorite basketball player 💪
*This is a godly performance*
I wished I could born earlier and watch this in live, this is the best playoff performance.
The greatest clutch performance of all time. Utah were odds on favorites here. They just tied the series at 2-2 and with the an ailing Jordan and the series still at Salt Lake City, they had all the momentum. And then 38pts, 5ast and 7reb with 2stl later, the rest was history.
The best game to ever witness form Jordan !
Jordan putting moves on everyone
Michael Jordan has shown he can still play strong in basketball even when he’s in pain and when he’s sick!!! He’s my NBA LEGEND!! 😊❤❤😊😊🏀
Greatest NBA performance ever by the GOAT.
Why did you skip the part where he missed a free throw in the last minute of the game, but got the rebound? One of the biggest plays of the game.
Dude is just so smooth and just too good. Seems like he's playing in slow motion.
Crazy to think that Michael Jordan played the flu game two days before I was born, and won the finals the day I was born! Which is one of the main reasons I love MJ so much! A dedicated man who asked for nothing in return.
WTF I can barely stand on my feet with a stomachache and this guy got food poisoned and still got 38 points🤯🤯🤯
He was food poisoned, Jordan played through the pain and sickness and still took the jazz out! in what they called the "flu" game. 5:58 LEGENDARY
B.Allen they never said he had the flu they call it that cuz he had flu like symptoms it’s literally in the first 10 seconds of the vid lol plus flu game sounds infinitely better then “Jordan’s food poisoning game”
@@Dontcrybebetter the commentator literally called Jordan “flu-ridden” at the end of the video😂they were definitely overselling it a bit.
Yea i remember this game like yesterday because it was amazing how he still won the game while he was sick you can tell he was super gifted by god aint no ever way about that especially by the way he played other games too 🙏😍😎😂💖😎😎💖😎💖😎💖😎💖😎💖😎😎😎😎😎😎
1:08 love the subtle shoulder screen
Another great highlight video of Michael Jordan
We took it for granted at the time. No one compares to MJ.
This is why he the goat athlete of all time. Look at athletes today Naomi and Simone... Quitters!
They ain't quitters they just selfish. There's a difference

I love Michael Jordan!🍾🤩🥰🙏🏻
I noticed throughout the game the good spacing, as the Bulls are executing the "Triangle Offense". Hats off to the late Tex Winter (the architect), and Phil Jackson.
Phil Jackson Never Gets The Credit He Deserves Because Technically Phil Was The Exact Reason Why The Bulls Won 6 Championships
I watched this game on tv and still have the vivid memory of his tenacity against all health challenging odds.
He didn't have the flu he was posioned from a slice of pizza and he still pulled thru. G.O.A.T
Food poisoning is arguably worse. Such a nightmare.
I thought he was just hungover
Michael Jordan still my goat.
Happy twenty-third anniversary to one of #23's greatest performances!
MJ what a Goat 🐐 Greatest of all time
I was a young student when I watched this game. Afterwards, when I had difficult time, I think about this game. Then I know I should keep fighting, never give up.
Such good quality!!
Micheal Jordan is the basketball itself. Hats off for the greatest ever.
Currently watching this with the flu and I have no idea how he even was able to play. He really is the goat I can’t lie
1:18 look at the way he goes so quickly to his spot with no energy wasted with the fake, beautiful!😍
Watching this at the time in Chicago and the local newscasts was all about how sick Michael was and us Bulls fans could only imagine how he was feeling. Man what a relief that the Bulls had a couple of days off before the next game.
Only the GOAT can have a vintage Jordan game while batting the flu in the freaking NBA Finals against a great Jazz team. All-time stuff right there!
Jordan's career is like a story you could read over and over again. GOAT status 🐐
Mj said on "the last dance" it is a food poisoning from a midnight snack he bought.
It was a pizza.
The Heart Of A Champion Micheal Jordan Playing With The Flu Goat
Now we know it wasn't a Flu... It was food poisoning. Damn! #Greatness
I mean...we always knew it was food poisoning, because vomiting is not a flu symptom. So-called "stomach flu" IS usually food poisoning. Actual flu is a respiratory disease, not a gastrointestinal disease.
Flu or food poisoning, bottom line, MJ played while not at 100% and not only won, but put up a hell of a performance. Which shows how great his drive to win is
Man if only I had been born 10 years earlier… could’ve been alive when this man was in his prime. Unfortunately I was born the year they won the 6th, so never got to see him
Wanna see any of new era players play the game with flu ..
No one bcuz are bunch of divas nowdays
Z3R0 M13DO 💯‼️
Nah that's not the reason I believe. I think the nba made a health regulation if anyone tries this again cuz it is an health hazard to yourself and ur teammates tbh. They probably made a rule after he did this. I'll be surprised
Magic Johnson played with HIV, and no one, including Karl Malone, caught it from him.
@@marcavery5310 ...Magic had the HIV virus. Read a book!
His career is like a movie.. unbelievable sports icon! LeBron James is also great they are both the best of their generation
What about Kobe Bryant ?
What’s cool is I remember exactly where I was watching this masterpiece of a performance
In today's NBA he wouldn't have been allowed in the arena, for fear of COVID-19. I thank the Lord almighty I grew up in the 90s.
The flu game is iconic an incredible performance from Jordan when he was clearly feeling very ill
Even when Jordan had the flu Jordan was still hopping💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀
It was food poisoning not the flu
0:35 the only time Michael's face ever told you he didnt wanna be on the court.
I watch this when I'm sick and need a little inspiration.
I never watched basketball as a kid, but when these finals came on TV while I was a teenager, I was riveted to every game. The Flu Game has been a formative moment throughout my life.
It's pretty certain that I'll probably never do anything on this Earth at the same level of skill that Michael Jordan played basketball. That level of skill is totally beyond me. But more than once, in absolutely miserable shape, I've done some very average things with the kind of determination Jordan showed, and it's got me through some very tough times.
Most of us will never have that kind of talent. But the kind of determination and will to keep going he showed is something we can all shoot for.
Look at 1:08 how he checks the defender with his shoulder to help Harper shoot free. Mike was so automatic in everything on the court
Good eye
MJ saw plays develop before they did, he was incredible.
Love this channel and quality of the video can you make 720p 60fps for all the mj videos this is really crisp 🙂
This makes me miss the 90s like really bad 😢I loved the late 90s and early 2000s my childhood years

I always thought this was a regular playoff game he did this in the finals
Am I the only person that watches this before they have to work a long shift while sick?
Nobody will ever come close to MJ. Great offensive and defensive performance in a clutch game!
Everytime I get a fever, I always watch this video because it's very inspiring
And this is why Queen LaBrenda shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Jordan. She would have sat the game out.
I kinda relate to Jordan. Ever play hockey hungover? You feel indestructible... but also tired lmao
He wasn't hungover. Didn't have the flu though either. It was food poisoning.
@@lainiwakura4678 yeah, he would have been sick for 2 weeks if he had the flu
