I'm stunned! I would've never guessed that one was night a natural diamond!

Same here. That's the interesting part... In the past, it was easier for us to tell the difference between an earth and lab grown diamond and that's still the case with most lab grown diamonds we see. But the latest technology that certain special lab grown suppliers are now using along with their improved detail regarding "cut quality" makes this task much more difficult to do.

Would you please give more details about price difference?

Hey Karine, Sure.. For instance a 1.5ct J SI1 Earth grown diamond of great quality can run someone around $7,650. A comparable high quality diamond that's lab grown can sell for under $4,500 which is over 40% in savings!
We also offer lower quality lab grown diamonds that can sell for under the $3,700 range. But those one's are not the type presented in the video (although still very nice).

prices of labs will continue to drop because of developing techniques and more labs are starting to produce. Buy a 1000 euro lab diamond and its worth 200 euros 4 years later

Can you specified what is the differences between lab and natural diamond? If they both sparkle the same why the price are so big different? And do you have a smaller size lab grown diamond? I mean 0.5 ct etc

Hi again Reth31. Nowadays it's almost impossible to tell the difference between lab grown diamonds (from select high quality suppliers) and earth grown diamonds. I recently made a video on that subject which you might have already seen ruclips.net/video/PruXCX9LnfU/видео.html . There are expensive electronic testing tools that can tell the difference and if it weren't for those, it would be a big problem for those buying diamonds because they would not know what they are buying unless it was graded by labs such as GIA and AGS.
Lab grown diamonds have played a role in lowering earth grown diamonds prices in the past few years, but you are correct in that there is still a large gap in the prices. I guess that's because the demand for earth grown diamonds are still high compared to lab grown diamonds. It's a mental thing and many people still prefer the natural earth grown product and even though the difference is slim, they are willing to pay for that peace of mind.
Lab grown diamonds are cheaper to produce compared to mined diamonds where it could take 250 truck loads of the earths crust to find a single 1ct diamond. In short - the equipment, time, and man power expenses attribute to the higher earth grown price point.
Regarding the availability, our suppliers do indeed have lab grown diamonds in the 0.5ct size range. If interested, you can email me again at matt@goodoldgold.com and we'd be happy to further assist you! Thanks Reth31
