I love watching your videos. In fact, it seems that every time I tune in, which is often, I'm then off to buy another WERA or KNIPEX something-or-other to add to our growing collection of these modern German hand tools that I wish were around in our younger days. The Turbo Driver you demonstrate here, however, has by far become a favorite tool. We are a retired couple and love to tinker with our shed toys and power equipment, all of which need repair each season. We just assembled our MoJack Mower Lift, for example, and our WERA & KNIPEX tools made it a breeze. I'm a petite 68 year-old Greek Yiayia who just rebuilt our old beloved 2002 John Deere LT150 after a head-on fight with a deck post last summer. Hubby is building a remarkably cool storage area to secure our German-made tool collections to keep them readily available for their constant use. -- Thanks so much, and please keep up the generous time you take to help the rest of us understand why these quality tools really do separate themselves from the rest of the industry. Even my kitchen contains such things as a German Wusthof cooking knife set and other such paraphernalia. We get what we pay-for, don't we?
I bought the Turbo handle , gotta say I like it . Great for running long machine screws , and trimming out . I like the handle in the non Turbo mode , it can exert a lot of torque !
As a diesel mechanic I think this could come in handy sometimes in say band clamps on pipe or plastic intake/exhaust sectons, or blind screws in hydraulic parts. But if it doesn't have enough torque to finish a screw then why not just use a power tool and socket driven bits? Honestly the only use for this for me is speed in tight access and I don't see that many philips or slot screws in those situations.
Because you don't always want to be carrying power tools around. Also, any tool that helps put less strain on your wrist is welcome if you have carpal tunnel or similar.
I'm slowly upgrading all my pliers to Knipex (thanks in part to you, buddy!), and now it would seem that I'll be upgrading my hand drivers to Wera... Between you and Clint ima go broke! 😂
I actually bought this handle to go with my kraftform set but I found that it had no torque in turbo mode, speed alone does not drive every screw. The only use I found for it was longer socket screws where the boxes were recessed too far. I couldn't work on lighting assemblies where the screws had to cut threats into the plastic bodies and I was not able to screw in plasterboard fixings in turbo mode. So I believe while it is a great idea it still needs a lot of work to make it functional enough for daily use
I primarily use it for long electrical fixture screws and long bath faucet screws. Comes in nice not having to carry a battery tool for those but that’s my primary use for it now after having it a few months.
What do you mean by "it needs a lot of work"? Wera can't change the laws of physics. If you have a 1:4 gear reduction you only get a fourth of the torque. There is nothing Wera can do about that. You double the output speed you lose half of the torque.
A month after I see you talk about Wera for the first time (to me), I pulled the trigger and ordered a 12 piece insulated set. Now of course a few hours after ordering this video pops up and you got me thinking hell maybe I need the turbo version! When does it end? LOL
I’m way too hooked on them myself! They come out with really interesting stuff occasionally. I ordered the Koloss ratchet this week to try out. Talk about a unique tool there. Im in for anything that makes my work more enjoyable! Good to have you here 😁
Our crew has a 6 month clean room overhead installation ahead of us. No power tools allowed. (The carbon dust from a brush or any smoke from a burnt motor could ruin product). I just ordered one of these to drive the multitudes of machine screws ahead of me. It appears to be perfect for the task.
Sounds like a perfect use case. Just be aware that it has very little torque in turbo mode so you either have to click the button to switch to normal mode or carry a secondary driver for final tighten. Whichever is faster. It’s a neat driver though!

Working with an electric ⚡️ outlet I would like the 4x gearing especially with flathead screws. They are a pain 😛 by hand 1x speed. I hope these bits are up to the challenge ☺️
Hmmm. As always I really enjoy your tool reviews. Not sure I’ll be rushing out for the Wera though. I’ll usually go for my CXS or other cordless for any lengthy fixing operations. Only time I’d use the hand screwdriver is when I’m checking a wall plug fixing is adequate or something is really delicate. Speed’s not the issue. It’s about the feel of the hand to screwdriver which may be lost in the gearing? Also I’m guessing that it’s four times the speed but maybe a quarter of the torque applied? It doesn’t torque down in turbo. It requires clicking the top and locking the drive to torque. Kinda unique. I had to try one out as I only use hand drivers for electrical etc. Definitely not a “need” kind of tool, more of just an enjoyable one to use if you use a screwdriver a lot.
I think it's more useful for tightening machine screws into threaded objects, like he showed with the electrical outlet. The gear ratio is going to cut torque by 75%, so I doubt it would be good at driving screws into wood or anything similar.
Isn't that the reason for the lockout? You would run it in almost all the way with the turbo mode and then lock it out and get some torque since most fasteners only require much torque at the end on the way in.

Great video 👍 Just 1 suggestion your setup is nice but would be a whole lot better if you get bigger or brighter lights and your camera since your include tiny bits and tools your camera had a hard time focusing on tiny objects other than that keep up the good work (you got my sub 😉)
Hopefully I can upgrade the camera later this year to a full time 4K like the Sony FX3 possibly, that’s a massive amount of investment though, its currently a Canon M50 MK2 as the main front shot and a Sony ZV1 for the action and B roll shots of tools in action. The lighting might be a bit harder to upgrade, I think I spent around $1400 on the lights that are being used here 😅 I’m still learning how to improve with every video, hopefully it will be noticeable! I just picked up the 11 piece driver set, but was very tempted to pick up the turbo. I am curious to know if the turbo has any play in it while locked, or is it absolutely locked and won't move a thou? I’ll check that for you, it locks solid but a thousandth might be hard to say lol. You definitely have to lock it to tighten a screw though. Turbo is just for spinning them in and out quick so be aware of that for sure.

Probably immediately when at this price point you can about get a drill lol 😅 Really depends on what you need it for. This ones need range is very small, I mainly pull it out to do an entire home of switches and receptacles and things like that.
Heres a comment, idea is meh because you have much less torque in "turbo" mode, meaning if your screw siezes up because of junk in the threads, you might no longer have the torque to overpower it, and forced to switch to regular mode. But the price is absolute daylight robbery for what goes into the screwdriver to achieve what it does: a simple planetary gearbox like cordless drills have but at a smaller scale. For the price you can buy a cordless impact driver kit, or a drill, whatever. How much goes into a drill? Its going to have your planetary gearbox with a reduction for increased torque (its a bad idea in my opinion to inceease speed at the sacrifice of torque) and a smaller reduction for higher speed, while still not stepping in the speed multiplication territory and for good reason, a decent chuck, an electric motor, a speed controller, a clutch for screwdriver mode, and a battery possibly a charger even. Of all that, what are you getting with the Wera? Half of its planetary gearbox, because it hasnt got the second set of gears for the 2nd speed of the drill, but probably much less refined and highly probably gears made of plastic because you will not strip the cogs in a hand tool. Slow clap Wera, well done.
Video is too dark. At 1080p 60FPS, the quality is poor. Not having enough light also leaves the camera exposure working harder and underexposed and also generates a larger file.

First of all I gotta say I’m a Wera fan owning many sets of this brand. But let me tell you my friend that even though your videos are very good you should try the tools in a real environment. Having said this,the Wera turbo driver is totally useless the minute you try to get some torque on turbo mode. The mechanism simply doesn’t work ,so what’s the point in purchasing it? Heavy and pricey for nothing. Just don’t know how Wera could end up with an item like this without testing it hard first.
They’re pretty clear on their advertising that it is not intended for torque in turbo mode even going as far as to say you can damage the mechanism. I personally use it with a Phillips bit for running down long electrical and bath fixture screws. Saves a lot of time on the fine threaded 3-5” ones that I unfortunately have to drive a lot of. Then just clicking the button on the back locks it up and it has torque then to final tighten. That’s how it’s intended to be used. It’s definitely not for everyone and especially if you don’t do those low torque long driving applications. I probably need to re visit this driver in another video and further explain it as this was more of an unboxing and description video than a review Thanks for checking it out 😊
True, some people prefer this style though. As far as cordless versus hand drive, I prefer hand drive on a lot of things I do like shower valves, electrical etc. for the more precise feel. This is a really niche product here though I agree, I use the regular Wera ratchet driver a lot more for sure and it’s maybe in the $40 range. Thanks for checking it out! It’s unique for sure
Definitely not paying me, that would be nice but no, no tool companies pay me at all. I’m still using this every day, it appears in my Wera bag Loadout video also. It’s a unique driver and I think a lot of people don’t understand what it’s for and what it’s not for, and that’s where those reviews came from, it’s also why I bought one and made this video.
It's really annoying that almost all your videos are rather worthless as every time you hold a product up close to the camera, the product is completely out of focus.

This is a great idea. Personally I've never seen the value in Wera tools. I have several driver sets and find I rarely reach for them.
If you rarely reach for them maybe you're not giving them enough of a try? Sometimes I just prefer what I'm used to and not neccesarily better

Check the Super T Handle Metric set, a compact new design that solves the rotational problem when torque is not needed (at Amazon).
I got one for Xmas I asked for since it looked cool, but I've hardly found a use for it.
It definitely does not replace a good ratcheting driver. Pretty unique use cases for it.

Just trying my best 😅 since this video I added an Aputure 120d Mk2 as the main light and I’ve been experimenting each time with adding more and more light but I’ve worried about messing up the exposure with too much? If you have a moment to even watch a minute or two of this weeks and let me know any suggestions I’d love to have them!

First of all I gotta say I’m a Wera fan owning many sets of this brand. But let me tell you my friend that even though your videos are very good you should try the tools in a real environment. Having said this,the Wera turbo driver is totally useless the minute you try to get some torque on turbo mode. The mechanism simply doesn’t work ,so what’s the point in purchasing it? Heavy and pricey for nothing. Just don’t know how Wera could end up with an item like this without testing it hard first.
They’re pretty clear on their advertising that it is not intended for torque in turbo mode even going as far as to say you can damage the mechanism.
I personally use it with a Phillips bit for running down long electrical and bath fixture screws. Saves a lot of time on the fine threaded 3-5” ones that I unfortunately have to drive a lot of. Then just clicking the button on the back locks it up and it has torque then to final tighten. That’s how it’s intended to be used. It’s definitely not for everyone and especially if you don’t do those low torque long driving applications. I probably need to re visit this driver in another video and further explain it as this was more of an unboxing and description video than a review

Turbo or not, it’s $142. You can get a cordless for $50 and it spins for you while you spend more money and still have to use both hands to spin 😂
True, some people prefer this style though. As far as cordless versus hand drive, I prefer hand drive on a lot of things I do like shower valves, electrical etc. for the more precise feel.
This is a really niche product here though I agree, I use the regular Wera ratchet driver a lot more for sure and it’s maybe in the $40 range.

Cool idea but, Amazon reviews of this driver are NOT GOOD. I almost ordered it and then read the reviews....REMOVE FROM CART. They must be paying you.
Definitely not paying me, that would be nice but no, no tool companies pay me at all. I’m still using this every day, it appears in my Wera bag Loadout video also.
It’s a unique driver and I think a lot of people don’t understand what it’s for and what it’s not for, and that’s where those reviews came from, it’s also why I bought one and made this video.
