The center-right European People's Party, or EPP, has gained a decisive victory in the 2024 European Parliament election. ‪The results show a shift, with centrist parties losing seats and far-right groups making big gains.‬ The vote results also raise questions over how the EU's major powers - France and Germany - can drive policy in the bloc. In France, the right-wing National Rally party's win prompted French President ‪Emmanuel Macron‬ to dissolve the National Assembly and call for snap parliamentary elections in the coming weeks. So what are the potential repercussions these results will have on European politics and foreign policy? Why are far right groups apparently becoming more mainstream?

The line between the left and the right can be very small. Many of the policies those far right parties want to implement are economically very left and it is not surprising. Liberal politics has degraded the identity of many nations and opened the doors for uncontrolled immigration mostly by very traumatized refugees from wars we enable. A lot of people are sick of this on all sides of the political spectrum, it is the reason why the shift to the political "right" has been so strong. Hopefully it won't get to the point of more exceptionalism where we think we are better than the rest as a way to justify horrible things. We've seen this for decades in the US but also the EU especially since our decades of support for Israel became a major topic.
I think it is important that we recognize the problems as they are and don't use it as a justification for generalized hatred towards certain groups which has always been an extremist pitfall. Doing so would not benefit Europe or its people nor the world. If anything the best way to lower the flood of immigrants is to work towards peace so that people don't have to leave their country. We can absolutely do this in a way it benefits all parties involved.
In this we can learn from China who's international success for a large part is made possible due to actually providing good opportunities that are beneficial the majority. The problem with liberal politics is that it abuses power, the US and EU keep showing up at the negotiation table with an ultimatum instead of the intent to negotiate and this has made us many enemies. It worries me that right wing parties will continue this as they perceive this as prioritizing their own interest and people while it actually hurts them on in the long term.

@@Souchirouu The classification into right and left prevents our brains to funtion.
I ignore it and think in terms of what makes sense and what is just brainwashing.

In political comparative advantages, it is fair to say that Socialist is more stable & provide a calm & predictable future for the world. In short, we didn't see Socialist has created much upheavals as compare to Democratic process in the West. In this sense it is more human friendly & acceptability. Has contributed to the world in a favourable ways.
Whereas, Democratic process in election sadly having greater bearing on domestic & international wellbeing. Just look at what happen in the west now. By right every Democratic process should yield better outcomes or betterments domestically or internationally. But now we observe there are more struggle in it & such struggle have a bearing on international wellbeing. Shouldn't that Democratic processes must achieve goodness for all & paving for better world. Certainly it is about power struggle & wouldn't achieve the needs of the world. It is about to rule without obligations to the world wellbeing. That the reasons, when the west go for election, it reverberating the world over. Worrisome on more choatic futures. Whether the new elected could solved the problems or it's only about being powerful. Failure of being obligatory to do the necessary domestically & internationally.
Very sad on western Democratic process with full of uncertainty.
    For better world
