It has been well over a year since I did my song rankings for the classic series songs of Thomas & Friends. But now it’s time to look at all of the songs from the HiT era. These were a little difficult to rank because most of HiT just sounds the same. But I can safely say that I'm very satisfied with this list. Hope you all enjoy and don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe!
All footage and audio credit given to those at the end!
I OWN NOTHING IN THIS VIDEO! THIS IS STRICTLY INTENDED FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY!!! NO MONEY HAS AND WILL NEVER BE MADE OFF OF THIS VIDEO!!!
The Dream Song is such a fever dream (no pun intended). It made me wonder if Ed Welch told the children what was happening in that song, because they literally sound happy when singing it.
Worst song in the entirety of the model series in my opinion.
I kind of like that though It gives a real sense of how paranoid the engines are being about what will happen if the airport doesn't open And it completely subverts our expectations of a cheerful Thomas song and the lyrical disserance makes it even more disturbing
The first time I heard “Thomas your the leader” when I was 5 I repeated it at least 4 more times, and even to this day I would occasionally listen to it.
I heard for the first time when I was 6 and it's the best HiT era song in my mind to this day
Ode to Gordon: Gordon is the fastest TRAIN (“They call the engines trains, trains are what they pull”) on Sodor.
Spencer: ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT?!
And if we go with the RWS canon then Pip and Emma are the fastest
That was an awesome ranking video once again Tay!! 😃I’m not surprised that it got blocked in the first place 😒 My favorite songs from the Hit Era are… Brave Little Engine, Determination, Buffer Up and Share, Thomas and James are Racing, Every Day is a Special Day, Day and Night and best of all Thomas You’re the Leader, such an AWESOME song to wrap up the Model Era and always will be!! 😎
Nor am I considering what happened with The Unlucky Tug
Finally! Somebody else who thinks that Trying is the best song from Calling All Engines! 😁👍
Determination, Trying, and Thomas You're the Leader are all top tier songs!
Like the ranking video. Thomas you're the leader is definitely the best of the best hit songs and what a way to send off the full model era.
Thomas You're the Leader is definitely the best song to come out of the HiT era. However, Ode to Gordon is my all-time favorite song from said-era (yeah I know you aren't the biggest fan of it and that's totally fine). What I love most about it is the use of Classic footage within the song. It definitely feels like it belongs in the Classic Series (if it were a S7 song). I know Mike O'Donnell stated in an interview w/ Sidekickjason that he and Junior had no plans to write songs for Gordon, Henry and Edward, but still.
Other favorites of mine are Doing It Right, Patience, Surprises, Navigation, Jobs-a-Plenty, Every Day's a Special Day on Sodor, The Work Song and Trying. However, I don't really like Where Oh Where is Thomas, H is for Harold (yeah I agree), One Friendly Family, Strength and Day & Night.
Hey guys! So at 21:44 and 21:50, you can hear my battery sound go on. I didn’t think it would get recorded while I did my lines so apologies for that!
Booooooooo! (Said Patrick Starr)
You should pin the comment so everyone can see it
“Pride” is my #1 favorite song of the “HIT” era because of the “Thomas’ Milkshake Muddle” DVD!
How could you say that A World Around You is a terrible song? I loved that song in my younger years and I still do to this day, I love all the songs in the Hit era of Thomas & Friends.
That’s great for you, but I hate that song. It is one of the weakest songs from HiT in my opinion
Hey Taylor! My favourite HiT era Thomas songs are Try To Do Things Better and Thomas, You're The Leader. TTDTB for the rhythm and instrumental, which I believe is the only Thomas song to feature a rock guitar in it, and Thomas, You're The Leader for the fact it brought the model era of the show to a close in the BEST way possible, by doing a Thomas rap! Hope you like this comment. Zak.
Strength also had a rock guitar
I love Thomas You’re The Leader and I love the instrumental version
Patience is a Virtue, Everyday’s a Special Day on Sodor & Thomas & James are Racing are one of my favorite songs of the HiT Era
I love Togetherness, it’s a bit repetitive, but I give it props for actually focusing on characters that don’t really get attention in songs, Edward and Henry. The instrumental is a bop, I love how it also shows the friendship between Edward and Henry. I get that you’re not a fan of Gordon, but putting his song that low, is wrong. It’s meant to sound more grandiose than fast. At least we can agree on Brave and Trying To Do Things Better being high on the list. This list was a bit of a mixed bag for me personally.
I feel like Togetherness could’ve been better and Ode doesn’t sound grand to me at all. It should definitely be more fast paced for Gordon
I get where you’re coming from, and I admit, as much I love the Togetherness and the fact it actually acknowledges Edward and Henry, it could’ve been better. Gordon’s song should be faster, I agree. But I feel there’s a difference between classic and HiT Era Gordon themes. Classic Gordon’s theme is more fast-paced, while the HiT Era one is meant to be more grandiose, and hammer home his strength and pride, and I feel like Ode To Gordon wants to, and successfully reflects that grandiose nature, and while I like that, I see your point.
I can totally agree with you on Thomas You’re the Leader as the best song from this era.
I LOVE Brave little engine! The instrumental is so grand and I love how they portray Thomas. Defintly in my Top 5 HIT Songs. BTW, do you prefer the original or the Headmaster Hastings? I personally think they are both great!
They’re both great
Agree
Some of my favourite songs from the HIT Era (in opinion) would have to be the Engine Roll Call, Together We Made It Happen, Buffer Up and Share and especially Thomas, You're the Leader!, which is not only favourite song in the whole HIT Era but the show as a whole.
But some of my least favourites would, after seeing this list, would definitely have to be H is for Harold, The Dream Song AND my most hated HIT Era song, The Narrow Guage Engines.
I kinda understand somewhat what hit was going for with choosing a march for Gordon’s song i think they might’ve been trying to show Gordon as a powerful bold engine hence the march
Here’s my top 10 hit songs:
10: Ode to Gordon. Yes, I know it’s odd that a Gordon song is on my top 10. But I always found the verse of the song catchy. I do agree however that he should have a more faster sounding song, having lyrics like “Look at his coaches! They rock along behind as well.”
9: Buffer up and share. This song is what taught me to help others. Yes, I was a kid when the hit era was new, but nonetheless, its a very joyful song.
8: Jobs a plenty: This song is very fun to listen to in my opinion. Fun fact, when this song came out with the great discovery, I was moving to a new house and I loved how it seemed to relate to the song.
7: Determination: What can I say? Very catchy and I love the instrumental! Nothing more.
6: Where oh where is Thomas? I honestly feel like this is a bittersweet song. It almost made me cry once as a kid, that just shows you how good they wrote it. I also notice it had a lot of footage from Season 11 episodes.
5: A world around you. I know it’s not as good as the island song, but to me, I find it very peaceful to listen to.
4: Busy. I can’t tell you how much I’ve relayed this over and over again. It’s probably the best song to hear when you’re felling bored.
3: Every days a special day on sodor. This song is by far very exciting and very upbeat to listen to. I’ve loved it so much that I’ve sang it out loud when I was just very happy.
2: Night and day. You must admit, this is a very great song because it has great visuals and episode choices. I remember once when I was in kindergarten I started singing it to myself and then my whole class started singing it. Great song!
1: Sounds. This is my favorite song of the hit era. I love how realistic it is, explaining what real steam trains sound like. It was the song I’d listen to all the time as a kid and I still love to listen to it now
I love Hartshore, but I personally prefer Mike and Junior
6:07 Okay I never heard The Dream Song from “Calling All Engines!” before and that was pretty dark.
“ f is for friendship , and flying and FUCK “
“ g is for God damnit that’s not my son “
H is for Harold but Good
“Oh look, Thomas grew a pair of balls” ROLF
I really enjoyed this video, I've actually never heard the term "carnival board" before!
I like "everyday is a special day on sodor" is just because they put molly in it. She appears in the beginning and appears again around the end.
I feel like Old and New was basically the show runners saying, “we know these newbies ain’t coming back, so we’re going to make this song to make it feel like they’re still around when we couldn’t give any less of a rat’s”
15:13, it’s not wrong if you find it a guilty pleasure, I get it. My thing is, you know how general audiences see Thomas as this baby shit TV show? This song is the kind of shit that makes them believe that! The instruments sound like they’re waving keys at the low attention span it thinks you have, and the lyrics are so babyish, but it’s your opinion and I respect it.
I do agree with you! I mean there are some songs that are not my coal and water but I can't complain as they are great in their own field!
My favourite HiT era song is 'Thomas, You're the Leader'
My top 5 songs
5: Emily
4: Narrow gauge engines
3: Thomas and James are racing
2: Ode to Gordon
1: Thomas you’re the leader
That was a nice video and I subbed to you not too long ago because I like the type of content you make.
I appreciate that!
Thomas, you’re the leader is the best song from the hit era out there!
Unpopular opinion: Day and night goes hard, especially the instrumental.
4:00 and 4:49
I’ll bring a hospital bed for you on standby for whenever you get around to reviewing the VHS “It’s Great to Be An Engine”. (If you know what I mean.)
The only reason I like the song togetherness it has (at the time with one of them) Edward and Henry
HOT TAKE!!............"Thomas Your The Leader" is the "Let It Go" of Thomas songs.
I meeeeeaaaaan…..yeeeees in a sense
@@yamitay9258 Don't get me wrong I loved the song when I was 11, but after seeing millions of Thomas fan videos opening with that song, some of which are really off key covers of said song, I pretty much react to the song the same way I react to any version of the Gusty Garden Galaxy theme. ruclips.net/video/3YnQdBD2y64/видео.html
Friendly dissagreement
The dream song always scared me as a kid
Well for the dream song it talks about how the engines 🚂 are worried about what might happen to them if no vacationers come to Sodor and the song about the narrow gauge engines 🚂 it introduced us to characters we know and don't know engine or person!
Still doesn’t make them good
I know! But think about Mighty Mac for example I didn't know about Mighty Mac until his debut episode! Same for Fearless Freddie! I do see your point though Yamitay!
I still want to know these kids names that sings the Hit era songs especially Engine Roll Call?
My favourite songs of this era are surprises, sounds, navigation and jobs a plenty
Together we made it happen makes you feel satisfied at the end of the movie in my opinion. I love it. I respect your opinion, but that’s mine.
Brave Little Engine to me, sums up the 60 years of Thomas on a positive note. I like it.
(Hate me if you want). 😅
The Works Song Reminds Me Of Of Brain May And Roger Taylor's Machines Or Back To Humans Song From The 1984 The Works Album From Queen It Both Sound Catchy When You Mash Them Up
21:43 random sound and another one here as well 21:48
Charger interference
Thomas your the leader, trying to do things better and sounds are the greatest songs in my opinion
Brave is my favorite song in the thomas history!!!!
I only like A world around you because of the XLeeHS version
my number one thomas hit song is Thomas You're the Leader
Same
21:48 is it just me or is your phone charging sound on the middle middle of the episode? I mean video. 21:48
Yeeeeeah it is, I could do nothing about that unfortunately
Can you rank Thomas' voices ?
I will but those kinds of videos won’t be until next year
Finally someone gets me😊 25:28
Next video, do wharf and peace review please?
I’ve got tons of other videos planned out first
I’d actually really like to see that eventually. I think that there is a way in which that episode could work, it’s just you need to change when it is set.
Before anyone comes after me, and says that that’s not the solution to fix all of these, I know that, but it could work in this case, and I think this is actually the only case. Just change the writing, and, of course, which characters appear.
5:57 I can but only for Toby and Henry, he'd most likely get set on fire and Henry, as mentioned in the special, wouldmost-likely get scrapped.
But in all seriousness, I absolutely despise The Dream Song, it is awful. It legit made me think those kids would come for me considering they sing so happy go lucky.
“Do bee do bee do bah”, what kind of lyrics are those? These aren’t Thomas lyrics!! They belong in a one year old Nursery Rhyme!!
*Nursery rhyme made for 1 year olds
Ode to Gordon being so low is unacceptable
🍪 Here’s a cookie
The Engine Roll Call song is so obnoxious and overplayed, as it plays in every episode of the HIT series
Thomas You're the Leader is 5000 times better
please rank thomas and friends characters
That’s too big of a list to even try and break down. But I do have a different plan for the characters for a series of videos next year
@@yamitay9258 ok thanks for the info maybe do a just classic seires then the others like you are doing with the songs
