Totally. Me too. I was already a Tubeway Army fan but couldn't find anything else like it. I saved up for the single for the A-side and then, BAMM, the B-side blew me away. Still love it in 2020.
Takes me back to '83, had it on vinyl. Lost it somewhere and had to buy it again. The best Men Without Hats song, I think. Security ,Recent album is great, This War is fantastic. Interesting, I was commenting on a Men Without Hats song. It's turned up in a smashing Ruts Peel session somehow. Listen to both please,.
I had distant memories of that. Heard a cover(!) in a gothic disco and asked for the band. Then I got the best of, the maxi of safety dance, the LP with safety dance but I still wasn't able to get this song. Finally I realized it was only on the single b side. Pre internet days.

Cracking track should have released as a stand alone track, has everything a single should have you have to wonder what the group/management/ label were thinking about not giving it go as a single
This is one kind of music that brought me to Punk Rock...was the B-Side of "The safety Dance"...the best Song of the " The hats" I love it....Thänx from good old germany....
This song has a really big memory for me... 25 November 1983 a very dull wet day and my drama class had a day trip to a big psychiatric hospital near Cambridge (UK) where we were shown how art and drama helps the mentally ill. I remember walking down all the corridors and this song was running through my head over and over, the words seemed to fit with the hospital and the people in it. I only have to hear this song and I'm there again... or maybe I still am. ;)
Wow I had no idea that they reformed after sideways, I did not much care for that Cd, but this sounds good. I am going to check this band out again. from an old fogey that also gets into skinny puppy and the Art of Noise.
thanx for posting that! i got the vinyl and never understood why this great song was never released on cd. totally agree: best mwh song, one of the best song of the 80ies!
Bloody Hell I really enjoyed that! One of my all time favourites I had forgotten all about! It's a strange back-to-front song where it all kicks off in the last 20 seconds. I just saw "the Safety Dance" on TV and searched Spotify for this gem and it's not there - good old You Tube. Like others have said, one of the best "b" sides ever. Another one to listen to is Bruce Springsteen's "Murder Incorporated". Never made it to an album until fan feedback prompted it's release on a Greatest Hits. Totallement d'accord! Ca fait des jours qu'elle me trotte dans la tête sans que je sache pourquoi. Cette chanson a un coté reggae qui devrait être plus exploité. À quand une reprise vraiment "FAT" par un groupe reggae?
Good song, but best mwoh song ever!? sorry, that's your opinion but most people would disagree. its not even in their top ten. but its better than pop goes the world! lol
Gotta disagree as this EP release pushed MWOH through to the next level. When this song came out, It was different from most songs we were hearing at the time. That in itself places it in the top five.
My very first single. Bought because of the safety dance but immediately fell in love with this track!

@@slemtones Yep, me too. Lost my original, bought it again on eBay a couple of years ago. Still has the same effect on me as in 1983.
Same here! All these years later, I still love it.
Should have been the A side. I rem a few friends when this came out were like FUCK have you played the B side yet its fucking awesome and still is.
Asbergers set to 80s pop.....a minor masterpiece! Superb!

I know the feeling
I can see it in the mirror
It knows that I'm receptive
And it knows that I am here
It's always quite confusing
When I try to leave it home
I'll be walking going somewhere
And I feel I'm not alone
It is with me in the morning
It is with me late at night
It is always confidential
And it knows I'm always right
I can hide it in believing
What I'm doing is not a game
But the feeling keeps me feeling
That it's with me just the same
Something in the world seems right
And it is what I know
This is where I want to be
So this is where I go
Everybody feels better
Look inside and see
(radio radio)
Everybody feels better
With security
I put on my coat
And omit my hat
Get a grip on my umbrella
I'm not looking back
Everybody's different
But we're all quite the same
And the feeling's comprehensive
And the feeling is the range
It is with me in the morning
It is with me late at night
It is always quite supportive
And it knows I'm always right
I can hide it in believing
What I'm doing is not a game
But the feeling keeps me feeling
That it's with me just the same
Something in the world seems right
And it is what I know
This is where I want to be
So this is where I go
Everybody feels better
Look inside and see
(radio radio)
Everybody feels better
With security
I know the feeling
I can tell you when it's there
It's crawling up my socks
And it's running through my hair
It's always quite confusing
When I try to leave it home
I'll be walking going nowhere
And I'll feel I'm not alone
It is with me in the morning
It is with me late at night
It is always confidential
And it knows I'm always right
The feeling's there to tell me
What I'm doing is not a game
But the feeling keeps me feeling
That it's with me just the same
Something in the world seems right
And it is what I know
This is where I want to be
So this is where I go
Everybody feels better
Look inside and see
(radio radio)
Everybody feels better
With security
Something in the world seems right
And it is what I know
This is where I want to be
So this is where I go
Everybody feels better

Everybody feels better
With security
Everybody feels better
Look outside and see
(radio radio)
Everybody feels better
With security
Could of been a song written about Smartphones....

In Oz, b4 it was a B-side to Safety Dance, it was released on E.P.
Same in UK as per Aussie friend below. B side of the Safety Dance single. Blew my early teenage mind. Still does, all these years later.
It wasn't even included on the rhythm of youth album which amazed me.
Exactly! I bought this ep in spring of 82 and the band took off from there (but safety dance wasn't released yet).@@ManfromuncoolBlogspotstars
My very first single too. As with yourself, was blown away by this B-Side. I far preferred it to anything else they ever released.
The Deep Blue Water lAo
I put side b of safety dance single on my record player one day when I was home for lunch from middle school and heard this and it blew me away
This is my favorite Men Without Hats song!

Found this by accident, love! REPLAY
Lucky enough this is one of my 45,s I kept.

40 years
@@RafaelGomes-td2lnIt is now. 40 years on, what will the 25th of November be like. Rain swept again? Another Doctor Who special? Who knows 🤔😉
@@RafaelGomes-td2ln Oh my goodness, I suddenly feel very old.
Were you already a Men Without Hats fan at that time?
One of the most brilliant songs ever!!!!!!
I fly out of the chair and start dancing wherever I'm at - especially rows in cubicles are great!!!! If they only knew
if this is where I want to be then this is where I go
Great song. Loved this b side.
Love this side B........this where i want to be and this is where i go..
.Love the way it keeps building!!!
Still love Antarctica as my favorite
Great track indeed! I've got a shit-ton of MWH stuff, from this to bootleg concerts! It's a shame that they didn't get the attention they deserved....
was the first MWH import I purchased, and I became a fan!
Wow I had no idea that they reformed after sideways, I did not much care for that Cd, but this sounds good. I am going to check this band out again. from an old fogey that also gets into skinny puppy and the Art of Noise.
Mwh is my favorite group...how have I never heard this..
El Donko It is only the b side from 7“ not at the 12“
@@jonesdelgado7650 It is also one of four songs on their original EP, Folk of the 80s (Part 1)

This is one my fave from MWH
Gotta love my Canadian alternative music.
Best of all the hats tunes, needs to be very loud imho
Had the original 4track EP that featured this...gosh, darn.
This was the B side to Safety Dance, in the UK at least.
my favorite of the MWH!

Thank You.
I wonder how it would've done on the charts if released as single itself
I have never heard of this song.
Super Withouts Hats!
It's a damn shame! I really wish I could find a concert from ROY or PGTW! Ive got the folk of the 80s tour and the ROY Demos.
taken me years to find this, was a big fan of the b side.
Me too! My sister bought this single for the A side but I loved both tracks!

Is there any version on CD? Same question goes for S.O.S. thx
Not that I know of, but it is on US iTunes.
