When genius meets simplicity at the highest level. Symbiosis of intellect and heart. This is an example of timeless and eternal music. I think the composer has reached the pinnacle of music in general here, something incredible. True art. I don't know if it's nostalgia, but it touches the core of man and makes him better. I live from this piece of music almost daily. No one can do with music what John Williams does. His music transforms people. True talent of God.
@@garethharrison5797IMO the first minute is by far the most challenging part! That's the portion written specifically for the piano by John Williams. By page 5 I'm actually able to play both hands together... it'll be a long time before I can say the same for pages 1-4.
@@daisy224 To be fair, I haven't played it all but I messed around with the opening. I think that it is very obviously based on the split octaves of the Fantaisie Impromptu, which I think is the hardest part of that piece. It is tricky, don't get me wrong, and has a couple of very awkward stretches but it is more about dexterity. If you can hit the notes, you can play the section. The part where one hand is playing those little cluster chords and the other is superimposing a melody over the same area of the piano strikes me as technically very awkward but, more importantly, extremely difficult to play well.To bring out that really epic melody whilst maintaining the consistency of the chords isn't really about playing the notes, it's about having a technique refined enough to coax the right sounds out of the thing. Having said all of this, you are playing the piece, and I am talking about playing the piece, so I'd imagine that you are right and I am not. Anyway, good luck with the piece. It sounds like you are getting there. I should buy the music myself in all honesty. I'd probably spend the whole piece weeping if I could ever actually play it well.
This absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much for this, I will certainly hear this a lot of times, just incredible I hope to play like this one day very inspiring!
La nostra infanzia concentrata,in un pezzo meraviglioso del maestro John Williams, complimenti per la bellissima esecuzione, suono anche io il pianoforte e la tastiera.Ho un canale you tube a mio nome.
What a great performance of a great composition. I just realized the arpeggiations with the 2 against 3 rhythm consisting of the duplets in the left hand and triplets in the right hand are reminiscent of Debussy’s Deux Arabesques. I wonder if Williams had that in mind when he composed this?
It's more like the octave parts of the Fantaisie Impromptu which is also 2 against 3 combined with the left hand arpeggios from the slow middle section of that piece, which, like this, is in D flat Major.
