Thanks for watching, and we'll see you next week!
Love you guys! Me and my wife never miss your videos! We feel our 4 months old daughter loves Troy’s voice, she just stares and smiles whenever we play cichlid bros videos! We manager to Mimic Troy’s South American setup with almost the same exact stocking. Appreciate the info you guys share in the channel!
That is awesome! Thanks for following along, and we appreciate the kinds words!
Hello, you guys are AWESOME, not just as knowledgeable about fish, but the outside bond you all have as brothers. I have a 125 embuma, 75 angelfish, and rainbow fish, getting ready to set up 90 gallon Severn, geophages and blue Acura.
Love the origin!!
Thanks, Mel!
As I started following your channel, I would have never guessed that you all have been only doing this for five years. I have learned so much from your channel. Appreciate all the content.
Thanks for following along!
I’ve really enjoyed the content this channel provides. A lot of ground covered in 5 years, can’t wait to see how the channel progresses. Fired Up!!!
You guys are one of the first channels I followed when I got back into the hobby and were a huge resource when I set up my African Cichlid tank. I appreciate all of the content and look forward to what’s to come!
That’s awesome, love to hear it!
You guys rock! Haven’t missed a single video, learning all the time. Nice to see some background info. Keep diving in you 3! 🐟 ❤ from the Netherlands
Thanks for following along. Really appreciate it!
Ohhh my Goodness 3 in 1. This is great. IM READY GUYS. LOVING THE TRIO story🐟💙💙🐟💙🐟💙🐟💙🐟💙🐟💙💙🐟💙🐟
Thanks! 👍🏻👍🏻
Troy I respect you putting your two weeks in. I expect daily content other thank shorts! 😉
Awesome Video… Congratulations on the success of the channel gentleman 🙌🏼 I can’t believe how time flies and that I’ve been around since the beginning and watching the evolution of Cichlid Bros. I have to say Quinn’s tank with Joker the beloved Green Terror is the reason I switched from keeping Africans to keeping Cichlids from the Americas and really enjoying new world cichlids. You guys are awesome and really bring so much to the hobby and I genuinely enjoy watching all the videos and conversing with Troy about cool ideas and new fish to keep. Cheers and congrats my bros 🎉🍻
Thanks Sean! Always great chatting fish stuff. Geos and discus 🔥
One of the best videos you have done!
Thanks for sharing the story with us.
Troy, congrats on being able to follow your dream and make this a full-time thing.
Can’t wait to see what comes next.
Thanks for following along and commenting! Appreciate it!
What a great video guys! Thanks for sharing! You guys truly are one of my favorite channels on RUclips and I could watch you guys talk all day long lol ...also I can relate when it comes to no one else (family/friends) understanding or caring about our fish addiction lol....I'm also that annoying family member always trying to show pictures and videos of my fish as well as talking peoples ears off about my hobby that they could care less about. 🤣
Keep up the great work guys, your content is awesome!
Thanks for watching and following along! Definitely a perk of having social media, so we aren’t annoying people too much lol
I really appreciate you guy's taking the time to let all of the people who follow the channel the back story of how it all began, I am so excited to see just how much you guy's have for us all in the future and yes need more tanks and fish,,,,, maybe a nice community tank just to help the newbie kids 😀.
I absolutely love this channel and thank you for all that you do for the hobby.
Thank you, much appreciated!
It's very nice to hear your stories. Really nice episode
Thank you!
Keep up the great work boys.
Thanks, will do!
You guys are awesome. So happy to see your channel grow since the beginning. I feel like the greatest part about your channel is your guys' range in experience with all types of cichlids. Troy with the more peaceful SA's. Quinn with the more aggressive SA's, and Alec with the Africans. At least that was my original takeaway haha. It's been awesome watching you guys grow your individual hobbies and teach some topics we don't always see covered. Congrats on your progress.
Thanks, Jake! Really appreciate it. It’s been fun over the years!
Always interesting to learn someone's journey in this hobby:) I appreciate Troy always responding to my questions as I started up my 75 gallon with my first little Geophagus Topajos. I am retired but would go back to school just to sit in a classroom with all those beautiful tanks❤. Congrats to you all for a great U tube channel!
Always happy to help. Hope the geos are doing well!
Congrats Troy! Definitely Looking forward to more content!Big fan of the channel!
Appreciate it!
Hey guys. Great video. So very sorry to hear about Joker. He was awesome !!
I just got some Black Widow Frontosa's!!!
Thanks so much for sharing this video and how you three started this journey. I've enjoyed "diving in" your channel over the last several months. I've learned so much from your channel and still learning as well. I'm actually looking to do this exact journey myself. I've had community tanks for about 2 yrs and since early Oct., 2022, got into Mbuna, and now starting to breed them, along with starting a peacock tank. I'm planning to continue to grow in the cichlid hobby, so any help is appreciated! Thanks again!
keep going lads ! love to watch the vids
So cool to Findley see your connection! love the channel. I'm always looking for your content! great info and fun personalities! keep up the flow bros...lol
Thanks for following along! We appreciate it!

Thank you, and love to hear it!
Great story guys keep up the great work 👍
Thank you!
Good job fellas….Go Cubs!!! And Go Irish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great Video Bros 💪🏾💯🐐
Thanks man!
Bros, I'm waiting for the Cichlid Bros Aquarium store here in the Chicagoland area with all the African & South American fish available for the hobby. I'll be your first customer.
Haha one day!
Oh Man I love your guys content and appreciate how well the videos are done now. I have watched some of the older stuff you have come a long way. You guys inspired me to get MTS lol. I have 4 tanks lol. My biggest is a 90 gal than a 55 gal than a 20 gal and a 5.5 gal nano fish tank. My 90 Gal right now currently has a female Jack Dempsey that I rescued and adopted from my local fish store. She has great personality and she was beat up by af cichlids from her previous owner. I medicated the water and added salt and she has healed up quite nicely. She is starting to get her beautiful colors back with the blues and greens etc. I have her in the tank with my Green Severum. He isn't full grown yet. I have a EBA and a golden severum growing out in my 55 gal tank. They are going to be added into the 90 gal once they get a bit bigger. My 55 gal has 5 Buenos Aires tetras and 6 black skirted tetras and 2 German blue rams and 1 regular Ram. along with the other 2 fish I mentioned above. I also have 6 cory cats as clean up crew in my 55 gal. I am having trouble finding the Denison barbs and what to put in the bottom as a clean up crew in the 90 gal with my JD and Green Severum. I can't put cory cats because they are to small. Any recommendations to bottom feeders or where to find the Denison barbs?
Thank you for following along! I’d recommend mid sized plecos or some of the Synodontis cats
Subscribed, because you quit the corporate job and are following your passion.
Welcome to the channel! Appreciate it!
This is fantastic!! I’ve always wanted to know your story and really appreciate all of the info / videos you guys have provided. It pretty much inspired me to get into the hobby!
Love to hear that! Thanks for following along!
Thanks for sharing the timeline. It adds a lot of depth to your other vids, thus rewarding second viewings.
Of course, thanks for following along!
Appreciate the origin story! Thanks so much, keep it up.
Great story guys. As someone who is just starting out with a RUclips channel it is very inspiring to hear! Keep it up fellas!

Off rip not even finished but I love how you guys bounce back and fourth flawlessly like a true healthy bromance and hobby love y’all and ty for sending me the link the the backstory
I’m not a big cichlid guy, but I still love the channel. I wish I had the room for one of those really big tanks and to do some African rock dwellers.
You guys built and set-up a really nice tank for the coach! 👍💪
Thanks! 👍
Keep up the good work always loving the content 👊
Thanks! Will do!
It’s nice seeing stories like this
Love y’all so happy yall are from my home state IL. I live I. Springfield and have just recently started my love for tanks and have just upgraded to a 75 gal tank for cichlids I have followed your advice as far as tank mates my choices for South American cichlids. I also have an mbuna tank 55 gallon. 830 gallon that I am currently housing electric blue acara and Roseline sharks. I do have some Congo tetras as well that I will be putting in my 55 gallon very shortly. Thank you for all your information. I respect and listen to all of your advice.
That’s awesome! Best of luck with all of the tanks!
Thanks for the awesome video guys. Watching your content is what inspired me to start my own mbuna tank. So far it's been a blast. Any tips on convincing the wife into expanding to a larger tank size?
Awesome! And that’s a great question. Could always let her buy something expensive as well haha. Plus many acts of kindness
The tank directly behind Troy is the 150g correct!? Is the 150g from custom aquariums too!?
Yep, correct!
Man I love watching you guys, keep up the good work!!🤘🏼😀
Thanks for watching!
OK now you’ve done it, I’m going to reach out to you and you’re gonna have to take the Cichlids in my quarantine tank.
Nice background story and video.
Congrats Troy!
Thank you!
Keep up the great work guys. Love your content.
Cool stuff...been watching ya the whole time 👍
This is such an awesome story of your journey...having said that it would be cool to see behind the seens wife content. What they all think and how they are involved with this whole gig...just a thought. we the peeps get so invested and connected that we want more...if thats cool with the girls...
I love y'all story! Big fan!
Appreciate it!
Love the back story❤
Thank you!
Thank you so much. It is now 3:30am. Just bought a 55 after starting with a 29 long last year. Been trying to figure out salt vs fresh, cichlid vs other types of fish, etc. As a freelance content creator myself, I appreciate the organization of your videos. I was able to finally understand the bits and pieces of what I've learned. Have a long ways to go but I feel like I know the direction I'm headed. Thank you! And, very cool story, btw.
One suggestion: PLEASE spell out the names of the fish you're talking about because I don't even know how to spell/google what you're saying) when I'm taking notes.
Oh! And, if you're ever bringing the show to Springfield, MO, check out Wonders of Wildlife aquarium where I am a volunteer diver. Would love love love to be part of the creation of some cool videos there. I mean, I'm sure your followers need to know how to feed sturgeon or hang out with a giant grouper.
BTW...excellent shot set-up.
Best wishes for you guys love from Bangladesh
Thanks!
Great Video.. Glad You Guys Decided to Make a Channel..
Guy in the middle is Aaron Rodgers you can convince me otherwise. Aaron are you staying or leaving Green bay?
Great video ,been watching for a while. Very informative and always interesting. Does Quinn have any tanks at his him if just school?
Thanks! He doesn’t at the moment since he’s recently moved apartments in the city
Great, great story and one question WHEN are you guys going The update on the coach tank and congratulations to Troy now you're going to be doing what you love every day I'm jealous 😭 anyway keep up the awesome work
Thank you, and coming soon!
Awesome story!! Just found you guys and getting into the hobby. Dumb question- did Quinn have to get approval from the Principal for all those tanks? Haha
Thank you! And welcome to the channel! No permission needed for Quinn. They let him do anything haha
Fantastic story! Love your videos, must be cool to have brothers also into the hobby. My family like the aquariums in my house but they don't get into it. Just "jeez, too much work." The tank with the Oscar in it is something I would love to do, just need a bigger house!
Thanks! Understand that for sure. Would highly recommend
Thank you so much for sharing all of your guys' stories I appreciate it. And I'm soon getting another 55 gallon tank to add to my collection! (If your curios I'm debating a heavily planted angel fish setup or a yellow lab mbuna tank.
Thanks for watching! And since this response is coming from Troy, I’d say Angels!
Thanks for the input! I'll take it into consideration.
You know what's funny? Everytime i watch a video and one of you are hosting it, i always thought it was from a separate channel
Good stuff
Thanks!
Ayyyy nice!
👊🏻👊🏻
I was just in Chicago. Traffic was crazy 😂.
I see a twenty gallon long black water apistogramma breeding project in the classroom in the future.. Just saying a lot of aspects of that could be educational, For example how to make blackwater, how to sex your apistos,, how to set the tank up so they would be comfortable enough to breed. You know proper decor natural scapes with a breeding cave. Live plants and even cohabiting lfish like corydoras and ottocinclus as a side breeding project as well...
That's a great idea!
Two teachers/coaches and a newly free agent? Sounds like Cichlid Bros need to make some videos on location, fish-watching in the lakes and rivers your fishes' wild cousins swim in. Every summer vacation, pick a continent and (literally) dive right in!
Question for Quinn, does your school pay for anything besides water and power? The school I work for does to an extent, but it's mostly out of pocket.
They technically pay the electric/water bill, but everything else is out of pocket
❤❤❤
No way! I always thought you were all the same person
Haha yep, three brothers
❤🐠❤🐠❤🐠👍
very nice video....its nice to see 3 brothers doing the hobby together......you guys rock
Fantastic video guys!!! Why is it every time I see Quinn, I always laugh.😂 I always see him as the guy who never helps out when setting up another brothers aquarium, ( but I know he does). Still runny though.😂
Lol, we always catch him on camera not working. Thanks tho!
@@CichlidBros 😂
Put some Shellies in the 20 long!!!!!!!
✍🏼✍🏼✍🏼
Wow I must be stupid, I thought you guys were all the same people. Are you guys actual siblings?
Haha yep, three brothers
