I bought my Moto X two weeks ago and hasnt dissapointed. Great battery life, zero crashes so far, havent noticed any lag, camera launch with your wrist move has worked everytime, smaller body than my last phone ( Sony Xperia Ion) but bigger screen. I loved the fact that I chosed colors I love the touchless control even though I dont use it very much. I hope Motorola keeps making phones like the Moto X. Its good to know that there are companies that offer good products at good prices. I love my Moto X.
So every time I see an after the buzz episode, I understand that pocketnow is getting so better and better. Probably Michael, this is the best after the buzz episode. And hey I said this on the last one also !
I'm on my third month with this phone. And it's every bit and more enjoyable than my iPhone was. Only one wish, that Motorola had upped the specs to fanfare levels, not because it needs them, but to have attracted more customers. As it's a shame more people don't get to experience this great phone.
It's shocking to see a device that has such universally positive reviews from critics, while simultaneously being almost universally ignored by average consumers. Sales for the Moto X have seemingly picked up since its rocky start (though no new sales numbers have been revealed), but I have yet to see this device out in the wild. I hope this doesn't cause Moto to change its direction. I think they've hit the nail on the head with this phone.
I agree, I personally based my purchase of the moto x on all the reviews, which were stellar, and I'm super happy with it even now. I hope that motorola keeps the design cues from the x and g, best designs ive ever seen on a phone.
Stephen Biebuyck Despite what seems to be clear Google influence in the Moto X, Motorola claims that it was ENTIRELY their design and software. IF that is true, and IF Lenovo allows them to continue to work independently like that, then they would be OK, provided they aren't already discouraged by poor sales numbers.
it's because all the Reviews try to minimize it's downsides. it actually seems to have a lot of negatives and just a couple of positive things. the only reason it gets so much praise is because you can have different colors on the same phone. other than that i don't see anything special about it. just the thing that it can read your messages out loud on the buss or when you get a ride from a friend, it should be a deal stopper.
Got the Moto G 3 weeks ago from the UK and I am very happy with it and I think that's my phone for the next decade, will keep buying Moto G model in future. I never expected such good decent build quality for $200. So I expect Moto X to be even better in terms of build. Thanks moto and Google!
I've had this phone for a couple of months now and I love it! The review here is spot on. Touchless notifications and voice activation absolutely ruin every other phone experience. There is no going back. Battery life is great, the screen quality is excellent and coupling this with Republic Wireless's Cell\WiFi hybrid calling make this phone amazing. I just hope Lenovo doesn't screw it up. Motorola is getting innovative again and it needs to stay that way!
Robstunner a rumor of lg updating a whole host of phones just came out, even prepaid phones, but this could be false or lg pulls and htc. But as of right now your right lg it pretty bad with updates accept for nexus of course.
ViciousProGamer I heard its really good and the battery life if amazing, but I did say by Motorola no lg lol, but I did hear of the g flex having some like weird screen bleeding issues and things like that.
Just picked mine up last week. I was set on getting a Nexus 5 ever since it dropped in November but I started doing research and the Moto X is the better phone for me. I love it.
I've had this phone since November. I love the "ok google now" feature it's the best part of the phone and the reason I purchased it. I do wish the photo was better quality but overall the phone is good. Michael is adorable.
Randy R. Kelly Jr. Just why you don't like the Moto X, let's not talk specs, now the camera I can understand to some point, besides that the phone hangs with the big dogs with with no issues.
I don't have that problem on my Droid Maxx, as matter of fact I just step outside to see if I can see that problem myself, and to tell you the truth it's fine with my half ass eye sight.
Thanks Michael Fisher for the follow up review. I'm very glad I bought a Moto X. This phone is much more than the sum of its parts. The devil is in the details and Motorola flipped the script, LOL. It feels great in the hand, has a surprisingly loud speaker and a gorgeous screen. I think that Motorola and Google has a keeper on their hands.
Just bought a Moto X. Was thinking about the Nexus 5 as well, but every review I see of the Moto X is just amazing, while the Nexus 5 reviews aren't as great, even if they recommend it as the best Android phone. I think that a lot of people really care for specs, which is fine, but the features of the Moto X and the good balance with the battery life, speakers, etc. seems really great. It seems that the only weakness of the phone is the camera. Anyway, I haven't tested the phone myself, but judging by all the great reviews is such a shame that this phone didn't sell much.
I'm getting my moto x on Monday. I can't wait either! I've been seeing so many good reviews about the moto x. My new moto x has a purple backround and yellow indents. I'm so excited!!!
I still find it hard to believe that no one will mention the strict availability of the Moto G and X. I'd have LOVED to pick up a Moto X six months ago, but I don't live in the USA.
I hope you enjoy the switch to android! I just switched from my iPhone 5 to the htc one m8. Be sure to call apple about iMessage. Disassociate your phone number with iMessage. I couldn't text or receive any text from my friends who use iOS. I would only get their text on my iPad Air.
I absolutely love my Moto X. I would describe myself as no frills kind of person and the Moto X had what I wanted from a smartphone without the fluff. Like what Michael said, I've used Touchless Control more and more, and I've used voice texting while driving so much that my next phone MUST have this feature (so prolly next gen X). I got mine during Black Friday and it has held up extremely well without a case. I'll admit that I take very good care of the phone, but with the occasional keys in the same pocket, it still looks good as new. Black front, woven black back, red accent.
This Michael guy does very nice videos. Good job once again. The only shortcoming is that you didnt mention the fact that there are still a lot of countries (including mine) which dont even have Motorola back
Really good job on this video (as always) . I like the way you personalize each one and you have the audience feeling as if your evaluation is just for the US (as individuals). Keep up the good work!
Right on the marks, Michael! Thank you for another great after-buzz episode. Just got myself an almost new Moto x to see if I should replace my Note 2 with. Man, this is a special phone designed with special care. Very happy with all the useful and non gimmicky features (yes, winking at you, Samsung). Plus the beautiful screen, good speaker and coupled with the best radios amongst the many phones I've had (now I can even get Sprint LTE in my house!), I think I can live with this phone for a good while even with its smaller screen. No wonder many people are happy with it after they own the phone. Oh, did I mention that I now really appreciate the quickly updated, near stock KitKat interface compared to the overblown Touch Whiz.
For most people the Moto X was a watching point to see what Motorola can do. Now that it's out and a Great phone people know what their next phone will be.
Great video that made me again lament at the fact that the Moto X will never come to my region :( And was the footage shot at 25/24 FPS and then upscaled to 30 FPS on RUclips? A lot of the footage seemed a bit choppy to me for some reason.
Great review. I was going back and forth between the Moto X and the Nexus 5. I'd never had a Motorola so I went for the Nexus 5 because of the stock Android. I plan on getting the Moto X+1 when that comes out.
The shit he said about using Moto X back again feels like comming home, made me cry :' ) BTW I'm an old iPhone Fan boy, and... I'm totally in love with my Moto X, a phone made for using, not to fill an spects sheet.
My wife loves my Droid Maxx and the built-in features but not the 5" display making for a large phone so I got her the Moto X (fully customized) She's in love! LOL
Great video! From day 1, I hoped this would come available in my country (Netherlands), but it never did. It'll never be for sale around here, too bad I guess..
i ditched my iphone for the moto X a couple weeks ago and i instantly fell in love with it.. the active display is very convenient and the touchless google now is so much better than siri.. the camera is my only issue, but that can be somewhat remedied with the google camera app.. overall, I highly recommend this phone and am lookin forward to the moto x+1
I really like this series of videos. It's easy to say a device is great on day one. It's an entirely different thing to still have that opinion months later. Thanks a lot for the videos! Keep it up!
iPhone 5s user here, and love iPhones, but it I were to switch, it'd be to this phone. Love how this and the iPhone continues to show optimization > specs
I bought this phone once it came out at full price (Dev. Edition) ouch but can tell you it's flawless. This phone show you that spec don't mean nothing and the battery life is phenomenal, just wish I waited a bit longer for the price to drop
Just finished the first day with the phone, and it's everything I expected and more. Speaker quality is decent, the software is brilliant and smooth, loved the VR animations, neat thing to show off to people. Gaming was quite flawless too, I only noticed few frames drop in certain games, which mind you weren't even that heavy on the graphics, stuff like Minion rush, or Sonic dash were the ones where the FPS had some hickups when loading new areas, since it does that during gameplay. But then at the same time, more beautiful looking games such as Bladeslinger and Real racing 3 had no frame drops whatsoever. Camera will take me a bit more time to test, but for my personal needs it seems to be good enough. I personally love stock android, and this is equally as good, with added features. I love active display a lot, I think it's one of the biggest selling points of the X. I honestly couldn't have chosen a better phone, sure the nexus 5 has better specs, but there's no reason to care when the difference in performance is barely even there, the moto x simply performs a lot better than you think it would. Overall I'm glad I listened to this After the buzz before getting the phone, Michael is right, getting a moto x is something you won't regret!
The Moto X is a phone I would love to get mainly for active notification and handless operation. Sure there are apps that can simulate this, but they eat up insane amounts of battery because there is no CPU core dedicated to voice recognition and (unless you have a Samsung) no AMOLED screen. Another major problem with the Moto X is lack of availability outside the US and high price.
Nice review. Always been a big fan of the after the buzz series. The moto x does look unique with all the customisation options. Seems like a good all around package.
They need to remake this. I still have mine now as a backup. I messaged Motorola to propose the idea of making it same sized but with more updated specs. Hell, even a midrange chip will do. I know the S4 Pro was outdated when this phone was released and I still used it from 2013-2017. Put even just a SD 625 or 835 and it'll be good till 2023/2025 for me.
Moto x has one of the smoothest android experience I've experienced . and i cannot tell how useful the find my phone command for Google now. I guess I'm gonna stay with this phone for a while
I really hope they do a new version sometime this year. I am going to be ready to renew at the end of Q2 and would love to get the sequel if it happens
Mr Fisher, i would like to know the name of the song of this re-review. It´s really charming. Thank you and all the team for this sublime work named pocketnow =)
This is an amazing smart phone and review! Several months ago, I recommended it to a friend that was shopping for his first smart phone, and I definitely think I made a great suggestion. I just wanted to ask anyone that knew, is the dimple on the back of the Moto X (where Motorola's "M" symbol is) still featured on the customized versions? The original black and white ones obviously have the dimple, & I know that the wooden versions (Bamboo, ebony finish, etc.) don't, but I'm unsure about the other customized Moto X's. Thanks in advance!
Would you still recommend moto x 1st gen for 2015? I care about 'experience' above all and I still want this phone but would just like to know if it's still worth buying to be your daily driver for 2015?
Moto x is my favorite android phone. It deserves a positive review, and I can't wait for the next generation moto x. My current phone is nexus 5, and during nexus 5 release moto x price was expensive. If moto x was lower price then I would have bought but as for now I am satisfied with nexus 5.
Great review, very honest and unbiased. Only issue I have is what you say about battery life. Are you using wifi a majority of the time or carrier signal? I would like to see the difference between using them. With my Moto X I can get about 8 hours of life out of it and that's just carrier signal with Sprint.
Great review. I'm just sad that this phone isn't available in SouthEastAsia. It really looks to me that this is the phone that'll fit my needs. I also would love to have that customizations. I hope Motorola Mobility will make the next MotoX available in Singapore too..
I bought my Moto X two weeks ago and hasnt dissapointed. I like the idea of "After The Buzz".
keep it alive
I'm on my third month with this phone. And it's every bit and more enjoyable than my iPhone was. Only one wish, that Motorola had upped the specs to fanfare levels, not because it needs them, but to have attracted more customers. As it's a shame more people don't get to experience this great phone.
I completed 6 years this month
@@hungryandfoolish21 You seriously got your money's worth, down to the dime!

IF that is true, and IF Lenovo allows them to continue to work independently like that, then they would be OK, provided they aren't already discouraged by poor sales numbers.
indeed, lets hope that (dont know if lenovo skins their deviceses heavily - could be a bad thing )

Binge-watching ATB-videos, and man. Michael has really changed in 1 and a half year!
This guy has a standard of quality in his videos which never drops! Respects to you man!
Dang Michael, your videos never cease to amaze (and inform) me!
True to that, always never cease to "amaze us"

i think the moto x is Motorola's best phone by far. At least for android.
So ur phone isn't the best. I think LG phone rules
I said Motorola's best phone, not best phone is general. And the only good lg phone is the nexus 4, nexus 5, and lg G2. So take that.
Michelle Hoell LG phones are great if you dont care about getting updates. Ever.
Just bought a used Moto x ..and still a great choice for an everyday phone.
Great work as always Mr.Fisher.
Just picked mine up last week. I was set on getting a Nexus 5 ever since it dropped in November but I started doing research and the Moto X is the better phone for me. I love it.
I bought my daughter a Moto X and she loves it. It is a perfect phone for a teen who ain't all about "tech".
I've had this phone since November. I love the "ok google now" feature it's the best part of the phone and the reason I purchased it. I do wish the photo was better quality but overall the phone is good.
Michael is adorable.
I just got this phone a few days ago and I know its a year old, but its seriously the best phone I've ever owned or used.
i am pleased to hear your comments on the device, its definitely an excellent device to use for your today & tomorrow...
Fair and honest, he summed it up best "something special" the Moto X
i like these reviews, after a few months reviewing it again.
I'm glad you did the video, not many tech sites come back and do this. Moto X Just not for my liking but I do recommend for the first time user.
Yes they have some good ones
Randy R. Kelly Jr. Just why you don't like the Moto X, let's not talk specs, now the camera I can understand to some point, besides that the phone hangs with the big dogs with with no issues.
Just not a fan of Amoled. Step outside can't see display
I don't have that problem on my Droid Maxx, as matter of fact I just step outside to see if I can see that problem myself, and to tell you the truth it's fine with my half ass eye sight.
Not with mines. After having a IPS display for a year its a huge downgrade
I love my Moto X!
When I pick up another device and the screen doesn't automatically talk to me, I'm reminded even more why the X is the best phone I've ever used.
Just bought a Moto X. Was thinking about the Nexus 5 as well, but every review I see of the Moto X is just amazing, while the Nexus 5 reviews aren't as great, even if they recommend it as the best Android phone. Im getting one today. Fuschia and white. Great follow up
I love my moto x. I'm coming from the iPhone 5c and I switched and pretty happy with it.
I still find it hard to believe that no one will mention the strict availability of the Moto G and X. I'd have LOVED to pick up a Moto X six months ago, but I don't live in the USA.
Michael is my favorite reviewer, keep up the good work.
ive had the moto x for about 4 months and its been great.
Almost a year now and still working great!
This phone is going to be my gateway drug to Android away from my iPhone.
I hope you enjoy the switch to android! I just switched from my iPhone 5 to the htc one m8. Be sure to call apple about iMessage. Disassociate your phone number with iMessage. I couldn't text or receive any text from my friends who use iOS. I would only get their text on my iPad Air.
Thanks for the heads up, I didn't even think about iMessage doing that.
Your welcome Kyle, but to be honest you may want to change your number entirely. I'm not sure if some of my friends are receiving my text or not.
AAAAAAH I'M GETTING THAT PHONE TIRED OF MY IPHONE IT'S LITERALLY BROKEN
Awesome video! Thanks for the good work Michael.
The moto X is still the best smartphone I've ever seen & I can't wait to see the X+1 !
For sure.
Yeah it's aged well... Might be my next phone
The only shortcoming is that you didnt mention the fact that there are still a lot of countries (including mine) which dont even have Motorola back
I love my motoX and it was one of the first smart phones made here in the US. Dallas, Texas to be exact.
Really good job on this video (as always) . I like the way you personalize each one and you have the audience feeling as if your evaluation is just for the US (as individuals). Keep up the good work!
Michael Fishers best review. Period.
No wonder many people are happy with it after they own the phone. Oh, did I mention that I now really appreciate the quickly updated, near stock KitKat interface compared to the overblown Touch Whiz.
There is something special with this episode , the best one
thanks to pocket now for taking a second look
I've been waiting for this! Great ATB!
Gotta say. I love my Moto X. Never thought a phone would get me away from iOS and this was it.
For most people the Moto X was a watching point to see what Motorola can do. Now that it's out and a Great phone people know what their next phone will be.
What do you guys think about getting the Moto X now? (10 months after release)
Great video that made me again lament at the fact that the Moto X will never come to my region :( And was the footage shot at 25/24 FPS and then upscaled to 30 FPS on RUclips? A lot of the footage seemed a bit choppy to me for some reason.
Michael Fisher is the Morgan Freeman of narrating tech videos. Best in the business!
Another excellent review, Michael Fisher!
Great review. I was going back and forth between the Moto X and the Nexus 5. I'd never had a Motorola so I went for the Nexus 5 because of the stock Android. I plan on getting the Moto X+1 when that comes out.
This is the most thorough review I have found. Thanks!
The shit he said about using Moto X back again feels like comming home, made me cry :' )
BTW I'm an old iPhone Fan boy, and... I'm totally in love with my Moto X, a phone made for using, not to fill an spects sheet.
My wife loves my Droid Maxx and the built-in features but not the 5" display making for a large phone so I got her the Moto X (fully customized) She's in love! LOL
As far as one of the annoyances mentioned, you can easily tell moto x that your not driving in the notification shade as soon as driving mode kicks in
Its an excellent device
Great video! From day 1, I hoped this would come available in my country (Netherlands), but it never did. It'll never be for sale around here, too bad I guess..
i ditched my iphone for the moto X a couple weeks ago and i instantly fell in love with it.. the active display is very convenient and the touchless google now is so much better than siri.. the camera is my only issue, but that can be somewhat remedied with the google camera app.. overall, I highly recommend this phone and am lookin forward to the moto x+1
cant wait for the moto x 2. hopefully they release the phone world wide quickly
Still the best series on this channel!
For some reason this didn't show up in my feed had to go to the Pocketnow channel to see it. Nearly missed it!
My comment was the last one 5 months ago... Jeje. Still have my moto X still perfoms great, still love it.
Great reviews as always
Great episode! Really brings out what makes Moto X different from competitors after all this time.
I bought this phone once it came out at full price (Dev. Edition) ouch but can tell you it's flawless. This phone show you that spec don't mean nothing and the battery life is phenomenal, just wish I waited a bit longer for the price to drop

I like hearing Michael Fischer, bro your'e a boss.
Thank you, Michel :)
Love these After the Buzz videos! Great Review, and cant wait for the Nexus 5's after the Buzz
great review! I'd still love to have the wooden moto x, but unfortunately it is not available in the Netherlands :(
And I still love my Moto X
Spot on review. This has been the exact experience with my Moto X as well.
Great to have confirmation from an owner. Thanks! ^M
This is an amazing smart phone and review! Several months ago, I recommended it to a friend that was shopping for his first smart phone, and I definitely think I made a great suggestion. Would you still recommend moto x 1st gen for 2015? I care about 'experience' above all and I still want this phone but would just like to know if it's still worth buying to be your daily driver for 2015?
my son uses it I personally use nexus 5 but still moto x 1st gen is awesome and I love it!!!!!!
+Jerry Tagle My dad and stepmom have 2013s, and they say that they've really gone down hill, but then again they refuse to factory reset.
it is still a best device in this size. actually it can b called the most usefull device as a routine. love it
Well is 2014 and my Nexus 4 still handles very well, good job LG!
Great job Mr. Fisher
Mine still kicks butt!
I'm torn. Do I buy this phone, or wait for Moto's next iteration? Contract expires next month...
"Reads your texts out loud while you're on a bus or a plane for everyone to hear" LOL
Moto x is my favorite android phone. It deserves a positive review, and I can't wait for the next generation moto x. My current phone is nexus 5, and during nexus 5 release moto x price was expensive. If moto x was lower price then I would have bought but as for now I am satisfied with nexus 5.
I love this series !
This is brilliant. I was looking for this exactly. Thank you for also being a genius!
The build in this phone is def what I dig. I went with the G2, not sure I should have. Better camera at least tho
Michael Fisher, you do great videos. You have class, and your production and delivery, is first rate.
Many thanks, David! ^M
I love the comma you put in there for timing effect. You sound just him
Jon-Michael McMasters You got it!!
Thanks for the review.
Sir do u know when is moto x2 gonna be announced should I wait or buy moto x....?
Great review, very honest and unbiased. Only issue I have is what you say about battery life. Are you using wifi a majority of the time or carrier signal? I would like to see the difference between using them. With my Moto X I can get about 8 hours of life out of it and that's just carrier signal with Sprint.
Great review. I'm just sad that this phone isn't available in SouthEastAsia. It really looks to me that this is the phone that'll fit my needs. I also would love to have that customizations. I hope Motorola Mobility will make the next MotoX available in Singapore too..
Seems like you really like the Moto X. I didn't get the same felling out of your Note 3 after the buzz. I still can't decide which Android to buy. lol
5 months already? Wow. I still feel like the S4 and HTC One are new too.
