    I'm 36 weeks with my 3rd baby and my experience with braxton hicks contractions have been different each pregnancy.
    In my first, they didn't start until about 2 weeks before I went into labour. They felt like low sudden hardening of my belly which came in the afternoons and only lasted about half an hour.
    Second pregnancy they started a few days before labour and were very mild. Bearly noticeable
    In this pregnancy they started around week 23 and feel like a cross between hardening in my belly, like I ate too much, and cramping from exercise. At this point they are becoming more frequent and much stronger as my baby also uses and rolls in reaction to them. They usually happen when I am sitting down so my method of relieving them is to change position or take a bath.

    I think my question is irrelevant for this particular video .... But I have a doubt please make me clear.... According to my scan report my placenta position is posterior.... Is normal delivery possible for me ... If at all it is difficult is there any particular exercise for that to make easier ...?

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes 3 года назад

      Hi there 😊,
      posterior position of the placenta simply means that it is attached to the back wall of the uterus, i.e. the wall close to your spine. However, that does not mean that you cannot have a normal vaginal delivery. In very very rare cases, a posterior placenta may extend downwards into the lower part of the uterus or cervix. When that's the case, it COULD become a problem. But again, it's unlikely to happen and your doctor would have probably already mentioned it...
      By the way: unfortunately, there are no exercises that could change the position of the placenta. There is really nothing that you can do about it...
      We hope this helps! 😊
      All the best for you and your baby! ❤️

    I am having lower right side belly pain which is very intense. Often starts after i wee or poo. I cannot stand or walk through it. Need to instantly sit. Once i lie down or relax for few minutes the pain subsides. Walking or movement makes it worse to the point i hardly breathe. Sometimes it is very localized. And sometimes it radiates towards upper belly, middle of the belly and to the back. I am 38 weeks pregnant. What could it be?

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes 2 года назад +1

      Hi there! ❤️
      It's difficult to say! First of all, if it were true labor contractions, then they would not go away when you lie down and relax. It could be that it's false contractions, however, it seems like the pain you are feeling is pretty intense!
      There could be many other causes, such as pelvic girdle pain. However, we really recommend talking with your doctor about the pain! The safest approach would be to have a checkup and to try to find out where the pain is coming from. Don't worry though, most likely it's nothing serious! But it's always best to double check with your doctor!

You may wanna look at these signs though: ruclips.net/video/v_nPARnW1e4/видео.html. They are normally signs that labor is REALLY close...

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes 2 года назад +1

      Hi there 😊,
      it's unlikely that it is labor. When you are in labor, the pain would be consistent, also during the day. Moreover, the contractions would come in certain intervals and the gaps between them would become smaller over time, if your labor progresses.
      By the way: the easiest thing to do if you want to check if you are in labor or not, is taking a warm bath (20min). If the pain improves, it is unlikely that you are in labor because when you are in labor, nothing that you do will make the contractions go away...

      Hi there Maureen!
      Yes, it is totally normal! 😊 Although these signs (like mucus plug discharge and an increase of Braxton Hicks contractions) are commonly known as "early signs of labor", they are not a guarantee that you are going into labor any day now. Some women see these signs although they don't go into labor for another couple of weeks.

      Hi there! 😊
      Normally, what they do in case of high blood pressure is, they regularly monitor it during labor. As long as it stays within a certain range (which depends on the doctor), they won't intervene. If you go over it, they may suggest to assist the delivery with instruments (such as forceps). And in very very rare case, they may suggest a C-section. But it very much depends on your hospital and doctor!
      So the only thing you can do is talk to your doctor and as them how they normally handle such cases at their hospital!

    I have contractions that are painful, some I even need to concentrate on my breathing, but it fades when I stand up. When I lay down its the worst. They are regular too, but only when I lay down. I'm quite confused whether this is early labor. I think I also lost little bits of my mucus plug

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes 2 года назад +1

      Hi there 😊,
      the best "test" to see if what you experience are real contractions is a warm bath of 20min. If the pain improves, it is unlikely that you are experience true labor contractions because labor pain does not improve, by anything that you do in terms of movements. Braxton Hicks and pre-labor contractions on the other hand, do improve with a warm bath...
      The next step is to time the contractions. The best hint that you are INDEED experiencing true labor contractions is when you start noticing that their pattern changes. I.e. they suddenly come in closer and closer intervals, get more frequent and more intense...
      We hope this helps! 😊

      So, either you experience pre-labor contractions.
      OR: it COULD be that you experience so-called drop contractions. These are contractions which have the purpose of "pressing the baby" into the pelvis. In other words, they help your baby engage.

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes 2 года назад +1

      Hi there Meliame 😊,
      if you feel better after a hot shower, it is normally a clear sign that what you felt was only a Braxton Hicks contraction.
      Braxton Hicks contractions normally go away if you change your position or when you walk instead of sit (or vice versa). The best thing to do though is taking a warm bath of about 20min. If it is false labor (like Braxton Hicks), the pain will improve and, most of the times, even disappear...

    • @CareAboutLittleOnes
      @CareAboutLittleOnes 3 года назад +1

      Hi there Rebekah 😊,
      what you describe very much sounds like contractions, rather than Braxton Hicks. 😊 In fact, it sounds like you could be in early labor. It's not uncommon for contractions to come like every 30 minutes in early labor. Also, please note that early labor does not always progress in a steady line. In other words, your contractions may not get stronger straight away. Some women are in early labor for days (some even for weeks) until the contractions finally get stronger and come closer together. Finally, please note that every woman experiences contractions in a different way. Some say, it's a "tight" feeling. Some say it's like very strong menstrual pain, other say it's a very intense pain that starts in the back (or on the sides) and moves to the front or the other way round.
      So, for your peace of mind, we recommend calling your midwife. Talk her through your symptoms and then let them confirm that it's indeed contractions that you are feeling. 😊
      But it really looks like your baby wants to finally meet you! ❤️
      All the best for you and your baby!! ❤️❤️
