    "Sentimental attachments are more important than materialistic ties" this statement, I learned some years ago is the number one factor for visa approval, whether US or Canada.

    Good pointers Dems, one correction though, applying for fam is not 10g * the amount. It's 10g then 4g then 3g etc

    1. How did you accumulate the funds to show on your bank statement. Were there any lending institutions involved? And if so can you name them?
    2. After receiving your study permit how long does it take for your family to be able to join you in Canada?

    Thanks for the tips. If you get approved for the study permit without your family, what is the process to get them to canada?
    Would you have to resubmit the study permit application or just simply apply for the appropriate permits for your family (spouse and children)?

    @ Demz, thank you for the info. I have a diploma & Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration & definitely don't want to study anymore Business. I instead want to switch career at this stage of my life. Would this be a good enough reason to get a study permit? I love the info you are providing about Grand Prairie( didn't know of this place before) loving thus far tho

    does the spouse need proof of address to where she'll be staying before applying? Which would imply that the main applicant needs to be in the country before the spouse applies?

      Based on IRCC website you don’t need to be in Canada before applying for your spouse. I didn’t wait and millions of other international student did not wait either.

      You can apply for your spouse afterwards it’s very difficult when you apply together

      There are a few scholarship options but the school scholarships are usually after you have completed at least a semester.

    You said persons get denied... if you already pay your school fee and get denied will your funds be refunded

      Yes the funds will be refunded less the application fee of $250.00 usually.

      Yes you do. You have to show that you have enough in case it takes a while to get a job.

    What is it like living in your area? Cost of living ?

      I absolutely would recommend living here. It’s pretty boring to be honest. Jobs are always available because it’s predominantly a oil town so lots of cash to go around. The cost of living is pretty high tho but you’ll earn enough to manage .
