This theory actually makes even more sense when you consider the fact that Charles Muntz was largely inspired by a real person named Howard Hughes. He was an aviator and adventurer throughout the early part of the 20th century, and when he got older and more reclusive, he hired a double when he had to meet with certain people in public. Hughes died in 1976, but many conspiracy theorists believe that it was his double that died in 1976, and that the real Howard Hughes died many years before that. ironic phrasing but it does hold some truth, blue at least in humans is one of the lighter eye colors so even in greyscale it can be fairly obvious if someone had brown or not and the other possible colors are a lot less common
@@gnamp the color may be gone but if the photo is good enough you can still get a decent idea of the intensity and contrast and most humans draw from a fairly limited pool of colors so unless its something like green, grey or a vibrant blue which are all rare colors its a good assumption that light colors in well kept old photos may show the typical pale blue. yes it could be someting else but if its someone who is well know it would already be known that they have an odd color. so yes the photo by itself cant determine much of anything, it is still possible to determine with some accuracy though this is usually a moot point since you would already know the eye color of the individual you are trying to examine so its only any good for cases like this where the possibility of a double are in consideration. also i dont know if this can be applied to this case specifically since i had it running background so i didnt see the photo being displayed
@@nickolaswilcox425 If the colour is gone- the colour isn't there. You don't need to see it to know this. One could no more distinguish dark blue from brown in a black and white photograph. No colour information is present. End of story. Assumptions like that are risky at the best of times but are absolutely ridiculous in this case.
what if he was Charles muntz's son that would explain the similarities and the age. if his son grew up with out his father and watched the same films Carl did he could also think of his father as a great person and when he grew up he could have went to see his father when his father eventually dies the son wants to finish what his father wanted stopping at nothing to finish his father's legacy. this would also explain the dogs the collars and the food they have.
theGingerLord 118 it's possible but there's no evidence that he was married I look at pictures of him no ring and he won't be able to have children at the time bc he was so busy and he have no love interest but who knows
theGingerLord 118 tht impossible he was so busy in his early life and there's no way tht he was ever married no rings on none of his fingers so tht wouldn't make any sense if you just think I think he had a brother tht was similar to him I don't think this is imposter the real charles muntz was probably dying and ask his brother or cousin
This is a great theory, but two of the points didn't make much sense to me (I don't mean to be rude): earlobes can elongate with age, and that looks like it could have happened here, and some people wear their age better than others, so saying he "doesn't look 92" doesn't really prove that he isn't. Again, I love this theory but those points just didn't sell it to me.
@John Kubik Eye colors can change shades, but not to completely different colors unless you have something like head trauma (which would usually cause only one eye to change color, if it does anything at all).
That's my theory. Charles Muntz died never finding that bird and Jr inherited his blimp and obsession. But because Jr didnt have the spirit of adventure like his father, he only wanted fame and fulfillment of his father's legacy, he was hostile to other explorers and then murderous after going insane in isolation.
Ok so you know the theroy where Carl is dead and Russell is like guiding him through the after life well that theroy could connect to this one like what if there both dead and Charles is like the devil
yeah definitely not but it would make sense about how Russell wouldn’t leave Carl alone until he helped him cross something, such as crossing into the afterlife. But I Don’t think that’s it
what if the "fake" charles muntz is the little brother of the real one and he was jealous his hole life on his big brother, so he killed him to live the life he lived. that would at least explain, why they look similar, but not identical. and it would explain, why he looks younger then 93. just an idea and sorry for my english
lol I remember my mom said the same thing but me and my sister just looked at each other whispered she's crazy and years later you come out with this! my mother is a genius!
What if the Charles Muntz that appears in the movie is actually Charles Muntz' son! Because their is no way that the original Charles Muntz would still be alive when Mr. Fredricksen finally meets him. Mr. Fredricksen used to watch documentaries of Muntz when he was a kid, so Muntz should probably be about 30 years older or something. Let's say that the original Muntz was dying and Charles Muntz asked his son to play his role because he didn't find the bird yet. And his son excepted, but little did he know that his son was a psycho path. And his son was so determined by his father's wish, that he started KILLING the other explorers. And he bought thousands of dogs to get rid of anyone who would get in his way. This explains why Fredricksen and Muntz seem to be the same age when they meet.
N Reviews it will probably be debunked because in the few photos/ scenes you don't see a wedding ring and can only assume he only cares about his passion of hunting so he wouldn't have time for a family
An explanation for Muntz's advanced age is in a deleted subplot from Up. It explains that Kevin's eggs act like a sort of fountain of youth that prevent Muntz from aging.
But that would mean he wouldve found Kevin at one point. By the way hes talking idk it seem he never seen Kevin personally. I think (taking the videos idea) that the orgianal charles was to old to look for Kevin, a adventure who admired charles stumble across his hero. Charles told this man about kevin and died soon after. So the adventure took his name and continued the search. So his backstory would be his own not the original charles..... but im going off of nothing.
Wouldn't it make way more sense if the imposter was Charles Muntz's sun it would make sense why he knew everything about him and has similar jenetics. Maybe his father died on the trip and imposters tried to take his place but his son stopped (and killed). That's why he tries to stop the old man and the boy because he was the one who was supposed to take his fathers legacy. It makes sense why he would make up a past since he wouldn't know what his father truly did. If you agree please like so The Theorizer can see this.
Mabey charles is just another side of carls personality. In the beggining of the film we see that carls went crazy hitting the builder who damaged his mailbox and we see the police advising him to go and live the rest of his life in oak leafs or something like that so what im trying to say is that carls went crazy from depression and never making his wifes wish come true so he just imagined all of this.
A popular theory is Carl actually died in his sleep the morning the old folks home people come to retrieve him. Thus why he is able to quickly renovate it to fly off. The kid is actually Carls guardian angel (in the form of a child as that was also something Carl and Ellie wanted deeply in life that never got to happen. A young scout escorting an elderly man to his final destination. His final life long dream to come true is meeting Charles. The man who brought Ellie and Carl together in the first place. Another symbol of their love.
I'm sorry but this new intro is just brilliant! Edit: ok I just wanted to know if you could do a theory on Disney/Pixar's film "Brave"? It's like my favourite film and I'm sure there's a lot to go off (though I haven't found anything myself)
Melissa Smith Kathy Swales hey green he should do a video on it but I think she should do 2 one that's an actual Theory and one that is just a review of it where he rates it that way if he does that one first he can get people hyped about it by saying that there's a lot of theories that could come out of it and people could give him ideas
I remember thinking that they REALLY made Carl age poorly when I was a kid cuz they made Munz HELLA nimble so I agree with you--he was 20-30 when Carl was young!
"Until then, I'm the theoriser." Does this mean that until we give a theory that's pinned you are the theoriser, but if we can, we take your role? Does this mean anyone that makes a theory can be the theoriser? Does this mean I can be the theoriser from theorising about this? Please help us out
When I first watched the movie the first thing that came in mind was this guy looks too young to be older than Carl . Supposedly when Carl first watched him , he was around his 20s or so and Carl was a kid so seeing him look younger than Carl just doesn’t make any sense. He’s supposed to look wayyy older than Carl, 14 years older than him to be exact. So it could be possible that this guy isn’t Charles. He does look similar to him tho maybe he’s Charles younger brother or Charle’s flying partner orrrr Charles Muntz’s son that’s why he knows or supposedly knows too much of the real Charles because he’s probably his son. If Charles had a kid in his 20s before he left off to his adventure . His son would be 9 years younger than Carl or less. And the fake Charles looks about 9 years younger than Carl. BINGO!
But there’s no evidence to show that muntz was married though. But I am willing to believe it was his brother impersonating him and it was him that wanted to finish the job his older brother could never finish because he died and he would’ve found his body. So he decided to embody and pretend to be his brother. If he wasn’t pretending to be his brother he would’ve said “and they wouldn’t believe him” instead of “and they wouldn’t believe me”
This theory is very interesting! I did always think Muntz looked more spry than Carl but never anything more. Also, the nod to the other 2 theorizing channels and the very smart fan deductions were great! I would have never considered the voice modulators being used with people.
while watching i noticed that up is like harry potter.they have both lost someone they loved carls wife and harrys parents, like you said carl cant move on unless he defeats charles like harry cant live while voldemorent is alive and they both have stupid but funny and sometimes smart friends like carl has the little boy (sorry forgot his name) and the dog, harry has hermonie and ron.
I’ve got a solution to your Roosevelt problem. What if he’s referring to FDR and not teddy. Sure teddy would make more sense as he’s a safari man but FDR makes sense with the time it was set 30s (flashback)
I just realized something since the "real" charles muntz would be 92 he would have most likely retired because he got so old . And the "fake" Muntz doesn't look 92 yrs old he actually could be fake and trying to take all of the original's work.
Could the 'Imposter' be his brother? Out of jealousy he killed his brother because he wanted to be like him? I mean yeah, you said that some similarities were between them etc.... and also if 'Charles' dogs loved him would they love his brother as well?
It could be, maybe Charles had a brother who was 15-22 or a few more years younger. Yeah it's a stretch but it's possible, especially if Charles' mother gave birth to him at a very young age.
The Theorizer well it couldn't of been a twin as he would also be 96 and not be very fit like we see so it could of been that Charles had a wife that we didn't know about and it could of been like Carl and Ellie but she had a kid may of died in child birth so Charles resented Charles jr for it, then Charles jr snapped and killed his father and took his identity as I say " physopaths are born, soisopaths are made."
I love your theory videos, you are making all of this sound so serious and terrifying. Just all because of your tone of voice and the music in the background.
What if everything that happened in "UP" was a dream from a coma that the little boy could be the one who found Carl in critical health and took him to the hospital explaining why the boy is always with him and it wouldn't be too far fetched as we see him at the beginning of the slowly begin to break down and Charles might as well have been his friend but was never there because he already died and their relationship could be why Charles is the villain in up
why do you people always make 1 big run-on sentence paragraph with no punctuation? It would be so much easier to read and care about if you didn't do this...
I agree with this theory. I was always suspicious of how active Charles seemed compared to Carl. Also, I believe Charles alternate used the other 'explorers' as hostages to get his supplies and these were really families and groups with a tour guide traveling about. Carl and the little boy wouldn't work because Carl was too old and the boy too young to be useful.
Look I rephrasing this comment due to my grammar okay. Charles Muntz is not necessary evil just mentally ill he is quick to judge and assuming others tht they want the bird aka Kevin. He may had a brother tht look similar or someone tht was related to him. Charles was jealousy of his brother and decided to kill off his brother and take his fame and blimp. It was obviously the fake Charles muntz planed out he brought alpha along to make sure nothing was suspicious ab the replacement of Charles muntz. There’s no way tht he play poker with the president. But it never said his or her first name it could have been his best friend the he often play with poker when he was younger and he always win every time due to his intelligence which explains his luxury blimp he has.
This grammar should be in a wheelchair cause it's so bad. Therefore this grammar should be killed and thrown in the ocean instead of the murdered Charles.
king candy Evil king lord zerg Like the first reply said, you're stereotyping old people and your grammar is worse than the reaction Charles got for theorizing that Kevin's species existed (I think that was it's name at least)
king candy Evil king lord zerg I understand what you are coming from he actually did when he meet Carl and Russell and just work on your grammar okay and u c I'm not even fuckin rude ab it have a nice day
Maybe thats true and the previous alpha dog was doug. Think about it, he is the ONLY dog who brought his kind to the attention of other people. He is also the ONLY dog mistreated out of all of them. It would also make sense as to why the other dogs were so quick to trust him as the alpha dog at the end of the film
AnimaSean it would make sense if he was a previous alpha after all, they would not second guess it since they already knew how good an alpha he was [if he was even good at all]
I just love the way you speak lol, I have watched like all of your videos and your speech really makes you sound like a crazy conspiracy theorist (even though sometimes you crack when theory's get a little too crazy) its really nice and amplifies your content.
what if I told you that the voices of the dogs are actually the murdered adventurers voices. I mean think about it. One piece of audio recorded could be manipulated to voice all other dogs. And then the other dogs have slightly distorted types of voice. And because there were no female adventurers, there were no female voices. also the food could be scavenged from the past adventurers. The demonic fanboy may have even killed the original Muntz when he came aboard, meaning that he went out of his way to make it to Paradise Falls.
Maybe he has a twin brother?? Sounds dumb but he could have brought him with him we just don't see it. Maybe that he got killed by his twin to become him because he was jealous. And either that or he died ON the ship from old age so he replaced him destined to find the bird and do what he wanted to do. And I know it sounds dumb again just my theory.
lucas keogh Twins (generally siblings) have same ear lobes. Identical twins are very Identical in all physical aspects. Plus imposter needs to be younger than Charlez Muntz. Thus your theory falls.
Also, if you think about it more how he so spry like actually how he athletic at his age way older than main character make more sense someone trying to go there and murder Charles and take his life it makes more sense. This person didn’t just kill him for no reason he wanted to take his life. He wanted to be honored that’s why this person killed Charles because he wanted to be seen as a hero, but people stood in his way, that’s why he killed them because he wanted to take identity and be seen as an icon and inspiration 5:19
What if the "imposter" was one of Charles cousins it would deplane the similarities and the differences like the ear lobes. I think the cousin was just really jealous. So, when Charles went on the blimp he snuck up there with him and when Charles was sleeping he killed Charles and threw the body in the ocean. Note: this boy was probably like 7 when he killed Charles. This cousin must of been really jealous. I know this is a dark theory but I some how believe it.
Maybe he wasn't a crazy fan who killed the real Charles Muntz maybe he was just a dedicated fan who when Charles got old/ill/died decided to pretend to be him reinstate his fame as an explorer this would explain why the dogs didn't turn on him because he was a friend.
What if.... Charles Muntz actually was dead, and THIS guy is actually Carl's jealous brother who wants to get revenge. Since he was his brother, he knew that Carl loved THE Charles Muntz and that paradise falls is all Carl could ever wish for, he created a all new Muntz to get his revenge. He knew that Carl would do anything to get to paradise falls for Ellie, so it was just a matter of time. Obviously, Carl didn't know about his "brother". But the facial similarities are quite close. While "Muntz" was waiting for the day, he found out about his desire for some animal species like the bird, and he just couldn't let Carl take his "everything" again... could he? Maybe, "Muntz" was the first born child of the Frederickson family, but was neglected when Carl came. That would explain the name similarities. Carl, Charles. Maybe, "big bro" became the new Muntz, so that his full name wouldn't remind him of Carl. But he still didn't want to forget. Coincidentally, the great Charles Muntz had the same name. Charles. He just had to change his surname. So, he "became" the new Charles Muntz and waited ever since for Carl to get his sweet revenge for all the years he had no family. (He was probably kicked out or he walked away because he didn't want to live with his family who neglects him so badly.) Because Charles was his own caretaker, he had to stay fit and healthy for the big day. That's why he is so much more fit in the fight scene with Carl. I mean, Carl was basically depressed after Ellie died, so he didn't want nor had to stay fit OR healthy. Therefore, are much slower than Charles. How did Charles know about Carl's desire for paradise falls considering that he was so far and Carl didn't even know he existed? Well, he probably had spy dogs all over Carl's town. Charles got to work for the great Muntz, but killed him and everyone else for his revenge. The helmets was Muntz's friends'/workers' and he had to kill them if he wanted to keep everything secret. Charles's new workers was the dogs. This is just a fun theory I came up with while watching this video.😉
At the age 91 years he could still live but he would not swing the sword like that or just normally walk but who knows, some old people still are in good condition.
I have a theory about Diego from ice age that is about how he can see the future because in ice age continental drift Diego said that Sid's parents were wiped out by an asteroid and an asteroid in ice age collision course nearly wiped out everything yes it didn't kill anyone but there is a meteor shower that could have killed Sid's family and again in ice age continental drift Diego says to Sid to not to teat the berries or they'll paralyse him but how on earth does a meat eater know anything about berries? Answer HE CAN SEE THE FUTURE!
KiwiGuana He said that to Sid just to be mean, he had no way of knowing what happened to Sids family. His family was also shown to be alive at one point in one of the movies, but I honestly can't remember which. They abandoned him, pure and simple. As for the berries, carnivores don't JUST eat meat, many will balance their diet with fruits every so often. Diego was probably told as a cub about the berries or even ate them himself once, a trial and error sort of thing.
Assumptions like that are risky at the best of times but are absolutely ridiculous in this case.
what if he was Charles muntz's son that would explain the similarities and the age. if his son grew up with out his father and watched the same films Carl did he could also think of his father as a great person and when he grew up he could have went to see his father when his father eventually dies the son wants to finish what his father wanted stopping at nothing to finish his father's legacy. this would also explain the dogs the collars and the food they have.
theGingerLord 118 Sorry, but the genetics just don't add up in that scenario, I made a reply to The Theorizer's comment at the top for more details.
theGingerLord 118 Also, how would his son even exist without Charles' wife being there?
theGingerLord 118 it's possible but there's no evidence that he was married I look at pictures of him no ring and he won't be able to have children at the time bc he was so busy and he have no love interest but who knows
theGingerLord 118 tht impossible he was so busy in his early life and there's no way tht he was ever married no rings on none of his fingers so tht wouldn't make any sense if you just think I think he had a brother tht was similar to him I don't think this is imposter the real charles muntz was probably dying and ask his brother or cousin
Dean Chainz I'm not a bundle of sticks, and you used the verb of that sentence incorrectly in the context.
This new intro has this creepy vibe into it, love it
This is a great theory, but two of the points didn't make much sense to me (I don't mean to be rude): earlobes can elongate with age, and that looks like it could have happened here, and some people wear their age better than others, so saying he "doesn't look 92" doesn't really prove that he isn't. Again, I love this theory but those points just didn't sell it to me.
Agreed. Felt like nothing in particular was said to support the initial theory. My aunt is 92 and looks younger and fit.
Also eye colors can change over someone's life
My cousin's grandfather was able to jog into his 90s and my grandfather died of a heart attack in his 50s. Plausible
@John Kubik Eye colors can change shades, but not to completely different colors unless you have something like head trauma (which would usually cause only one eye to change color, if it does anything at all).
my grandpa looks about 75 but he's 93 and gonna be 94 really soon.
What if its his son!!! Wanting to fulfill his father's journey.
Who is the woman?
@@bearase8719 hmmmmmm good point 🤔

That's my theory. Charles Muntz died never finding that bird and Jr inherited his blimp and obsession. But because Jr didnt have the spirit of adventure like his father, he only wanted fame and fulfillment of his father's legacy, he was hostile to other explorers and then murderous after going insane in isolation.
Ok so you know the theroy where Carl is dead and Russell is like guiding him through the after life well that theroy could connect to this one like what if there both dead and Charles is like the devil
sToP
No
People stop whining its just a theroy
yeah definitely not but it would make sense about how Russell wouldn’t leave Carl alone until he helped him cross something, such as crossing into the afterlife. But I Don’t think that’s it
Or maybe this theory is meant for Charles all along, not Carl but charles was dead the whole time
what if the "fake" charles muntz is the little brother of the real one and he was jealous his hole life on his big brother, so he killed him to live the life he lived. that would at least explain, why they look similar, but not identical. and it would explain, why he looks younger then 93.

Death Gamer What if it happened after the documentaries were filmed?
@@andrewcamenzind835 Maybe he didn't have wedding ring because it didn't fit his finger. Or just he had son with mistress but not wife.
Mabye a younger brother
An explanation for Muntz's advanced age is in a deleted subplot from Up. It explains that Kevin's eggs act like a sort of fountain of youth that prevent Muntz from aging.
ooooooo good idea
But that would mean he wouldve found Kevin at one point. By the way hes talking idk it seem he never seen Kevin personally. I think (taking the videos idea) that the orgianal charles was to old to look for Kevin, a adventure who admired charles stumble across his hero. Charles told this man about kevin and died soon after. So the adventure took his name and continued the search. So his backstory would be his own not the original charles..... but im going off of nothing.
Charles will look *muntz* younger
@@lilking12365410 It just means he would have had to found the eggs once, not Kevin itself
@Mustiboi Salman You must be young. If he found out the eggs have this property he would be keeping them all for himself
Ali Alali that’s actually not a bad theory, it makes sense of everything

Kathy Swales omg that's actually very good idea. You know I always thought brave always had this theorisability.
Melissa Smith Kathy Swales hey green he should do a video on it but I think she should do 2 one that's an actual Theory and one that is just a review of it where he rates it that way if he does that one first he can get people hyped about it by saying that there's a lot of theories that could come out of it and people could give him ideas

BINGO!
This theory actually sounds very realistic, now that I think about it
@@readysoldier6799 orrrrr..... Carl was 11 in the past and muntz was 22. So when Carl was 75 muntz would be 86. :/
I want the super Carlin brothers and the theorizer to do a colab.

I’ve got a solution to your Roosevelt problem. What if he’s referring to FDR and not teddy. Sure teddy would make more sense as he’s a safari man but FDR makes sense with the time it was set 30s (flashback)
FDR could not hunt because of his polio
Cue “What If I Told You” meme
I like it that he finds it strange brown hair changes to gray when you get older, but i didnt know that makes you an imposter right away XD
Cayden_ 66 yea mby he is the brother and the point with the dogs makes a big amount of sense
Also if the impsoter wasnt charles the dogs would attack or growl at him and mby the dogs were fake munts all along like the dogs were the impsters
It could be, maybe Charles had a brother who was 15-22 or a few more years younger. Yeah it's a stretch but it's possible, especially if Charles' mother gave birth to him at a very young age.

I originally added in the script that it was his jealous twin brother, but I had nada in the evidence factor.
Bianca Brooks Who's the mother?
The Theorizer well it couldn't of been a twin as he would also be 96 and not be very fit like we see so it could of been that Charles had a wife that we didn't know about and it could of been like Carl and Ellie but she had a kid may of died in child birth so Charles resented Charles jr for it, then Charles jr snapped and killed his father and took his identity as I say " physopaths are born, soisopaths are made."

Why do people always go for the "It's all a dream" theory? It's overrated and too cliche. It's like the ex machina of theories.
You’re definitely onto something. It always bugged me how Carl has become so old and Charles didn’t look much older than him

The Funny American this is a dark theory but you did a good job bro
Maybe he has a twin brother?? Sounds dumb but he could have brought him with him we just don't see it. Maybe that he got killed by his twin to become him because he was jealous. And either that or he died ON the ship from old age so he replaced him destined to find the bird and do what he wanted to do. And I know it sounds dumb again just my theory.
lucas keogh Twins (generally siblings) have same ear lobes. Identical twins are very Identical in all physical aspects. Plus imposter needs to be younger than Charlez Muntz. Thus your theory falls.
He could have a grand son at an elderly age
Twins are the same age
^Just like this comment above twins are the same age so that wouldn't explain his strength and more youthful appearance than 92.

4:02 but the eye color is diffrent if you look closely at Charls's eye color you can see it's darker than the fake

HOLY SHIT
