Doesn't take into account they were advised to appear phlegmatic and not show overt displays of emotion on television, or that they're detached doctors who some can't identify with, but others very much can. it's all based on weird reverse snobbery and selective evidence. No, only by online conspiracy nuts and alleged RUclips body language experts. There was actually nothing unusual in their behaviour - there is a whole spectrum of how different people react under stress, with adrenaline thrown in, and a personality type that might not tally with someone else's. They profile as cerebral, detached doctors - something you have to be in that field - so some people couldn't;t relate to that and on a gut instinct felt 'something was iffy about them'. But it amounted to little more than reverse snobbery. Anyone who has examined the totality of evidence can see they weren't involved in her disappearance other than to leave her alone in the flat while they had dinner.

Isn't it about time that Kate and Gerry McCann apologize to all those sympathetic people from whom they collected large sums of money, which they then wasted/used on: Reputation damage control companies, incompetent detective agencies, (who had absolutely no experience in tracking down Missing persons?) Unreliable private investigations, lawsuits against newspapers and authors of books, that tell reveal and/or discuss a different story about Madeleine than the abduction story? I find it weird the media always paint them victims but never really point to the fact they neglected their children. I find it weird that I've never even seen either parent cry.
Exactly it’s so odd and the mother was so laid back in multiple interviews like as if it was just something that happened . also it’s too obvious for that guy they accused to be behind all of it clearly there were many involved and because of his previous record the police are adamant it’s all him .I’m convinced the mother had something to do with it aswell the area they were in was known for being a perverted area before they got there.

The Portuguese police did visit the McCanns but their statement about the visit says nothing about apologising to them. Why would they apologise? What probably happened is the McCanns told the BBC about the visit and said the police had apologised when they hadn't
And when there was an independent investigation into this case her parents and their friends were not part of it. Of course when a child goes missing those who were with her would be investigated too. Much time spent on clearing their names rather than finding their daughter. What? Police ALWAYS question the parents after a child goes missing. Parents are always the first suspects in the absence of other obvious culprits, so in suspecting the McCanns weren’t they just doing their job? There was certainly evidence that the parents MIGHT have been involved (the changing stories of their group, for example), so of course the police had to investigate them. In what other cases have the police apologised for suspecting and questioning the parents after a child went missing? There was a media circus whipped up over this case immediately by the British press at the time (in a way that hasn’t always happened for other similar missing children), and very high profile British government figures immediately gave the McCanns their support and resources before anyone knew whether those parents were guilty or not, and the Portuguese police were up against all that from the start. They are not declared formal suspects though. Family are just potential suspects, therefore are treated and classed as innocent. They did not have a case against the McCanns, not any courtworthy evidence but they declared them formal suspects anyway and did so in front of the world's media.

Here is something for you to think about: There were a total of 18 forensic samples that were tested for DNA. None of them gave a conclusive match to Madeleine's DNA. That on its own ought to throw a serious doubt into theories that Madeleine's body (alive or deceased) was in any significant and direct physical (skin to surface) contact with any of the surfaces where the UK scent dogs (Eddie and Keela) alerted. As for the dog alerts, please pay attention to the dog handler's conclusion, particularly about the possibility of cross contamination. Below is an extract from Martin Grime's report [in PJ files]. I hope that this helps you to understand the case better. ------------ "The dogs only alerted to property associated with the McCann family. The dog alert indications MUST be corroborated if to establish their findings as evidence. Therefore in this particular case, as no human remains were located, the only alert indications that may become corroborated are those that the CSI dog indicated by forensic laboratory analysis. My professional opinion as regards to the EVRD's alert indications is that it is suggestive that this is 'cadaver scent' contaminant. This does not however suggest a motive or suspect as cross contamination could be as a result of a number of given scenarios and in any event no evidential or intelligence reliability can be made from these alerts unless they can be confirmed with corroborating evidence." --------- The only object that in my opinion could have caused cross-contamination is the Cuddle Cat. It is quite possible that someone (Madeleine or one of her siblings) dropped the Cuddle Cat behind the sofa. This toy could also likely have cross-contaminated Kate's clothes and the master room.
It's my opinion that Mr Amaral allowed his suspicions to overtake objective and unbiased detective work. He doesn't seem to have appreciation for the possibility of cross-contamination.

Leave your kid alone in a foreign country, and then demand an apology for being treated as suspects when she goes missing... People were getting too close to the truth, so this is for the benefit of all the average-intelligence population who believe anything they see or hear on the news.
A person of reasonable intelligence would get their information from verifiable sources such as the polive files, not a book written by an ex detective who made many mistakes and had misunderstandings.
Why did the Portpolice apologise? They were just doing there job and came to the correct conclusion. The fact the McCanns disagreed with that conclusion is irrelevant. Similar to the McCanns asking for sniffer dogs to be involved but then disagreeing with their findings. I have a hunch that the ruth will ve revealed before too long.
The parents are 100 responsible and should have been charged themselves for not having supervision and allowing their daughter to be god only know to happen to her..
They should have been charged for neglect! They left 3 children under the age of four alone. Wealthy couple on holiday in another country. Why not hire a nanny for the trip?
What do the Portuguese police have to apologise for? The ex lead detective of the case won his legal case against the mccanns. The mccanns refused to have a polygraph test. A spokesman for the mccanns said that the family would not take a lie detecter test as they have nothing to hide. But surely if you have nothing to hide you would end the 20 years of speculation and take the test. Makes no sense. And the "suspect" although a degenerate is not involved in this case. This case is like the jon benét ramsey case in many aspects. Both girls died accidentally and both parents covered it up imo
There are NO suspects other than the two identified by the Portuguese police back in the summer of 2007. They were and remain the prime suspects until such time as something crops up that might exonerate them. The likelihood of that happening after all this time hovers around zero.
FYI. From wikipedia. Most commonly, women kill their babies for altruistic and/or psychotic reasons. Jurors frequently view mothers who kill their babies in a sympathetic light, ascribing such behavior to a mental disorder or hormonal factors.
Should never have let them return home when they bottled it and caught a plane back to the UK when they realised nobody was buying their story. “We will leave no stone unturned in the search for our daughter” said two days before they refused to answer any questions and bolted.
Why did the Portuguese police apologise to the McCanns. The police did a goid job of investigating the case and came up with the correct solution. The fact that the McCanns didn't like that solution is irrelevant.
Sandra Felgueiras apparently appears in this BBC Panorama Show. She asked Gerry a year after Madeleine's disappearance about his view on the two British sniffer dogs that discovered the scent of death in the McCanns' apartment and on items only belonging to them, whereupon Gerry replied "Ask the Dogs Sandra". Has Sandra Felgueiras, who once seemed to have common sense, completely lost her mind?? Who died in the McCanns' apartment if it wasn't Madeleine??? What person abducts a dead girl? Or, better question perhaps, What person kills a a little girl and then let her lie and leak substances of death for at least an hour and thereafter return to the place of the crime in order to kidnap a cadaver???? The answer is not Mr Scapegoat Brückner !!!!!!!!
I watched the Panorama program and it was just a character assassination job to paint Christian Brückner as the main behind her disappearance. This comes even though ex cop Mark Williams Thomas has said he believes it isn't him and that the cell phone technology doesn't add up. Second listen to Sonia Poulton and her video where she said they just pulled this guy out at the right time because of his criminal background. Yet the parents haven't taken polygraph tests, haven't been charged with child neglect, haven't really justified why they left their kids on their own. What parents go to a Foreign Country and leave their kids on their own?? Why they hired a PR person first before anything? The police always say start with the family first when ever a child goes missing and this is what the police on both sides failed to do!! I would also like a reimbursement of my taxes which are being wasted on this case year on year with nothing to show for it, yet nothing has gone to the family of Ben Needham who went missing in Greece some years ago I believe and his family have had little to no media coverage so something doesn't add up with this McCann case!!
I never did agree with their story of leaking meat in the boot (hence a scent) and the back door of the car being left open for quite a while. It wasn't only behind the sofa the dogs alerted to either. As reported it was in a cupboard in the room if true (reported in a documentary). People buy meat in bags duh. It doesn't leak in a car. I saw the documentary years ago and it did show the dogs honing in on the bottom of the cupboard in the earlier part of the police work. (I really hope it's not as it seems, naturally, ) and that Madeleine might turn up one day.

Doesn't take into account they were advised to appear phlegmatic and not show overt displays of emotion on television, or that they're detached doctors who some can't identify with, but others very much can. it's all based on weird reverse snobbery and selective evidence. Those who claim to 'know' the parents did it are nothing more than scurrilous curtain-twitchers, they have no clue what happened that night any more than anyone else, and far less than those who have examined the totality of evidence. And when pushed on what the parents 'did' they vacillate between the most egregiously silly and outlandish theories that wouldn't even feel credible in the crappiest of Netlfix true crime dramas.
If you have a shred of evidence then present it to the police. Otherwise your claim of omniscience is pretty damn offensive. Examine the totality of evidence and you will see there is no forensic data to suggest they were involved in any way other than leaving her alone in the room. Unless by 'them' by you mean someone else. They are also just two middle class doctors, not members of a reptilian super-race. If there was evidence to convict, they'd be in prison.@@stueymorris
I thought it had been demonstrated that the parents’ behaviour was very sus?
This is a LIE! There was NO apology from Portugal!
I hope that is the true. The parents should apologise for their behaviour. They didn't help the police at all. Arrogance !!

I don’t understand. In such cases the parents have to be suspects unless they have an absolutely 100% alibi.
They are not declared formal suspects though. Family are just potential suspects, therefore are treated and classed as innocent.
Everyone in such situations is questioned but when someone is eventually named a formal suspect it is very different. This means the police have a court-worthy case against them, a portfolio of concrete evidence.

Here is something for you to think about:
There were a total of 18 forensic samples that were tested for DNA.
------------
"The dogs only alerted to property associated with the McCann family. The dog
alert indications MUST be corroborated if to establish their findings as
evidence.
Therefore in this particular case, as no human remains were located, the only
alert indications that may become corroborated are those that the CSI dog
indicated by forensic laboratory analysis.
My professional opinion as regards to the EVRD's alert indications is that it is
suggestive that this is 'cadaver scent' contaminant. This does not however
suggest a motive or suspect as cross contamination could be as a result of a
number of given scenarios and in any event no evidential or intelligence
reliability can be made from these alerts unless they can be confirmed with
corroborating evidence."
---------
The only object that in my opinion could have caused cross-contamination is the Cuddle Cat.

Parents were responsible by being negligent. Who leaves 3 kids, 2 babies alone
BBC throwing around misinformation the pj have denied this so called apology why would they need to apologise 😂
Yes , she was getting to the age for school and out of their control...just saying!!.❤️🇬🇧
THEY ARE NOT INNOCENT 😇. THEY ARE GUILTY AS SIN . SHAME ON THEM.
Moron
So very very sad, heartbreaking story
Corruption and lies
I never did agree with their story of leaking meat in the boot (hence a scent) and the back door of the car being left open for quite a while. It wasn't only behind the sofa the dogs alerted to either. As reported it was in a cupboard in the room if true (reported in a documentary). People buy meat in bags duh. It doesn't leak in a car.
I saw the documentary years ago and it did show the dogs honing in on the bottom of the cupboard in the earlier part of the police work.
(I really hope it's not as it seems, naturally, ) and that Madeleine might turn up one day.
Let's ignore the cadaver dogs finding traces of corpse in their hire car. The BBC never talk about this.

Only works in collaboration with broader forensic evidence, which doesn’t exist. This is very selective. Totality of evidence does not support the theory the parents did it.
Their latest doc didn’t mention there’s no evidence of a break in or abduction either. They forgot to explain that they refused to answer 40 questions too.
Yes, true, totality of evidence suggests an opportunist abductor. Likely Maddie walked into he road searching for her parents who had earlier told her where they were eating, and she was snatched, not dissimilar to the case of Roy Whiting/Sarah Payne. Profiles as a very similar case. If parents were guilty and there was sufficient forensic and circumstantial evidence to back it up beyond a reasonable doubt they would be in prison. They have no super powers - they are just two doctors. They'd be in jail if there was a shred of evidence. Also what are you implying they actually 'did' to Maddie?? @@mattb6704
The ECHR ruled in favor of Gonzalo Amaral, who is still pursuing the hypothesis of the McCanns' being involved in the disappearance of their daughter. Should the ECHR apologize to the McCanns for giving Gonzalo Amaral the right to publish his opinion of the McCanns' guilt.
Well said!
Wouldnt of happened if u didnt leave your kids by themselves. Enjoy your book money.
I don’t want to sound rude or mean to those two parents but HOPE OTHERS CAN LEARN FROM THEIR IMMATURE AND IRRESPONSIBLE DECISION!!! I can not say mistake because is not a mistake to be leavening a 3 year old alone and babies with unlocked doors is neglect of the child!!! 😠 is very irresponsible!
Liars. The parents know exactly what happened. They will be judged eventually when they meet the man upstairs………
Unfortunately, Madeleine is no longer with us anymore, for that reason, Julia can't be Madeleine...
Sadness is all I feel with this case.
This story is so weird. It implicates so many people. They should just shut up about it. The more they bring it up the more they incriminate themselves.
Such LIES. LIARS.
