- A friend of mine were talking about old cars and he asked if I'd seen his 65 Ford Falcon Futura with a 289. Take a look.

Took me back there, Brad.
Seeing that Falcon reminds me that I keep reading that we as older people should not look back and regret anything because it will cause "stress" and that is not good for your heart.
Well, Brad, I just had a wonderful look back, with no stress!
Thank you.
I'm glad you enjoyed the stress-free look back. Stress is certainly a killer. For some reason, the song "Don't Worry, Be Happy" popped into my mind. :)
My first car when I was 17 back in 1980 was a ‘65 Ford Falcon Futura with the 289 engine. Your Falcon brought back a lot of good memories! I have to say that your Falcon is very cool. I have to have another Falcon some day soon!!!
You were very lucky for your first car to be so cool. Mine was an early 1980s Toyota station wagon. It was green. We called it the pickle. It may not have been the coolest car but I sure thought I was somebody because I had wheels. lol. :)
@@BradDison I also had a 1975 Toyota Corona Station Wagon that I drove. It was good on gas but wasn’t very cool.
I own the exact same car, Vintage Burgundy is the color.
My father bought it used when I was 9. A daily driver for 5 years. Then garaged 40 years.
Hope to have it on the road soon😊
I bet you are anxious to get it going again. :)
One of my favorites,👍
It's an awesome car. :)
Underrated cars as "hot rods" go. I'm not sure what the big engine was probably the 289. They would surprise a lot of folks at the stoplight drag races. This one sounds like it has been enhanced a bit. Very cool...you just don't see them often.
Oh yeah. It was beefed up a bit. I think they were underrated as well. They had a hard time competing, as far as sales went, with the Mustang. :)
Hahaha. It's okay. He may not have read the whole title. :)
Oh I read it, I just didn't know if ford had ever stuffed a 351 in a Falcon.
@@gray_space_alien I'm not sure if they did or not. Can anyone else answer this question?
289 V-8 was the largest engine offered in 65 Falcons.
That generation Falcon was actually launched for the 1964 model year. With the exception of slight differences in the front grille pattern, the '64 and '65 were almost carbon-copy of each other.
:)
Sounds as nice as it looks
Oh yeah. It was certainly rumbling. The sound on the video doesn't do it justice. Thank you for watching. :)
@@BradDison pretty sure that rumblings were caused by hedders
This is a great car the 289 engine was one of the best engines portable belt
I agree. It's a cool car and wonderful engine. :)
Very nice. Had a convertible I was restoring but let it go. Yours is kool
Thank you very much. :)
Sweet ride👍🇺🇸
It was gorgeous. Thank you for watching. :)
Falcon was never a head turning car......'til this one!

I had a 63 Falcon Sedan. It was a grandma car but I loved it. This one looks much, much better than the one I had. lol
@@BradDison
I remember Falcons as being both incongruously named and so rounded in their architecture that there were no angles at all and nothing to like or dislike - they were just - there - haha
@@compassioncampaigner728 That would be a good description of the one I had. It was no head-turner, but I loved it. I wish I had it back. :)
Oh, God, I think my heart just stopped......"MEDIC, PLEASE"!!!!!!!! I LOVE a speedometer that takes up 1/3 of the dash....I'm in LOVE!!!!
Oh yeah. A horizontal speedometer is awesome. Thank you for watching, 2puffs. :)
nice car, love the color and the sound.
Such a cool car. :)
The infamous economy car, and future mustang😂😅😊
It was a nice car. :)
64my favorite year
64 was a good year for cars. They all seemed to look good. :)
Beautiful Car
I agree. I wish it was mine. lol. :)
Simply Gorgeous ❤, would look better with 18” wheels imho.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. It probably would look good with 18s. :)
my dad had one. with all the salt on highway 401 the head lights were dropping out in less than a year 60s ford rust bucket no inner fenders
Wow. I had a 63 Falcon Sedan. It looked like a grandma car but I sure loved it. I wish I had it back. :)
WoW
It's such a nice car. I wanted to take a ride but time wasn't one my side on this day. :)
I've never heard it pronounced "coup aye" always just "coop" must be the French model 😂😂😂
Hahahaha. I've been watching a lot of British car shows recently. They call them coop aye's. The Beach Boys "Little Deuce coop aye" just doesn't have the same ring to it does it? hahaha.
Sprint was higher
I don't remember seeing many Sprints around. I'll have to look them up. :)
looks like it is actually a hardtop not a sedan unless you know something i dont
I’ll have to take another look. I thought I was wrong once but I was mistaken. Lol. :)
That is a 2nd gen Falcon. Get it right.
I’m going by what the owner told me. :)
@@BradDison I see. Ist Gen Falcon 1960 to 1963. 2nd Gen Falcon 1964 to 1065. 3rd Gen Falcon 1966 to 1969 & then the 4 Gen 1970 & a half. You can research it.
Beautiful car!
It sure is. I wish it was mine. :)
