The most significant part of the episode was when Joel called Ellie "baby girl". He hasn't used that term for 20 years, since his daughter died. It shows that he is acknowledging his paternal role with Ellie.
@malicious intent it may be obvious to gamers, but maybe not for these guys and newcomers. They probably didn’t even notice that Joel had said it to Sarah in episode 1. So, it’s unfortunate that they might not have the same awareness as great men like yourself…

Yess I had a friend who never played it even though it was one of my favorite games of all time. I told him to watch it when the first episode came out and he said hell nah its boring but now that he's actually seen it he's like "Oh my god bro this is one of the best shows I've seen in years" and I'm like "SEE???"

@KPisOnTheMic -There are dozens of other crashed vehicles in the streets as well as people running around left and right screaming. The 3 people passed out in a flipped over truck could definitely survive. Also, Joel and Sarah were literally about to die until the soldier saved them.
-There were a very limited number of soldiers in the town. The idea that they would spread out to try to control things as much as they possibly could is understandable. Also, it’s not like this was any normal assignment for them. There were literally people in the streets eating other people so they’re probably gonna be a bit off

No, the right hand guy said that they still had venison before going out for deer hunt. So the people were under the impression that they still had venison. But many of them (including the wife of the guy who was killed) perhaps knew that venison meant human meat.

There's a DLC in Last of Us for the Ellie romance episode and Bill is gay in the game.. you just don't get the background story in the game for his partner. Now that Andrews a GAMER he's gotta play God of War. The storytelling in that is on par with The Last of Us.
What? Not even close, especially compared to Last of us 2. GOW is good, but it’s a straight line, it has the story, but the complexity of the characters wasn’t there. I think the fact that it was a fantasy world takes away from the ability to go deeper into the character development.
@@thebomb1393 Hard disagree, GOW explores the complexity of Atreus and Kratos' relationship, Kratos coming to terms with his past, and the moral obligations and complexities a character has as a "God". The game is plenty deep, and explores some very emotional and poignant themes. I would definitely say it's on par with The Last of Us.
Love both of the new games but they ain't on the same level as the Last of Us. Still, Andrew would probably love them

It's so refreshing to see someone who didn't get the last of us 2 spoiled for them, isn't part of the gaming community, and says, "The last of us 2 is the greatest game." ❤️ I remember when that game came out, everyone just became sheep once one big person said they didn't like it, everyone else followed, and it all happened because the story was spoiled. So everyone decided the game was shit before they even played it.

Also, might be overthinking it, but deer could be a term for people. They spotted a COUPLE of the deer in the forest (Joel and Ellie), when David told the homie to get the medicine he said "I'm not speaking in code go get it" and then the guy in the kitchen saying "its venison"

the best episodes are the ones ripped straight from the game and this was perfect with a little extra context. Neil Druckmann wrote made and managed a fantastic game and he should get a lot of the credit for the success of this series as everything people are enjoying is his and his staffs work not to diminish the efforts of the tv crew but they didnt have to create everything you saw on screen its a lot easier to dress a person up than to design and build them from scratch and then make you care about textured polygons. a lot more work goes into a game than any other medium and that should be acknowledged and respected as it is the highest form of entertainment and art

As someone who loved and appreciated the games. It's hilarious how much of a conversation point this show became when so many people outside the video game world didn't know about this dope story. It's dope to see people give it it's flowers. Although it also feels like when someone discovers your favourite underground rapper and for all of us who played the game we be screaming internally: "I've beeeeeeen tryna tell you about this for years"

They did hit a lot of topical things in Part II but they did it extremely well. Before playing it through, I thought the trans character was just going to be for pandering but it actually fit extremely well within the world and context of the game.

As a fan who experience what they are experiencing now back in 2013 as a kid I don’t have the same “omg love” for the show.

I honestly got the best of both worlds in a way when it came to experiencing the game and the novelty of the show. I played the game back when it came out, so about ten years ago. I got to experience that and pretty much forgot about the minor details by now. So when I watched the show it was ALMOST like experiencing it for the first time. Obviously I remembered major events but yea it still felt pretty fresh.
