Hey Kiva, told my partner that you were in favor of painting the bathroom ceiling navy and thought caves were great. He laughed. But he agreed to painting the ceiling and I bought the paint today.

This year is my year to have my style I've forgone for many years chasing the "in" style. Don't care anymore if everyone hates it as long as I love it. Give me my pastels, velvet drapes, flowers galore, vintage art galleries, old family photo's and dare I say it wallpaper! Gasp lol doing one wall in both my living room and bedroom. Granny chic is my vibe as the saying goes and pink!!. Finally happy and want to shop!! dreaded it for years buying what I never liked. How silly. Follow your loves ladies and gents. Found your videos recently and your energy, humor is fantastic. Keep making them!!

Love your sense of humor! We moved into a house that featured many trend relics of the past including bright turquoise millwork, sponge painting and various outdated wallpapers. Six coats of primer and paint were required to kill that turquoise. I still have flashbacks, as we lacked the funds to hire a team of painters, so if you decide on color-drenching, start saving your money for when the color goes out of style, or be prepared for weeks of labor.

*Color Drenching* . I am so on board with this. After 9 years in my home, my primary bedroom is getting a much needed make-over. I am color drenching the walls in Behr Leather Work, accent wall over the headboard in Sherwin Williams Naval. I want a dark and moody bedroom. My Pinterest Board was filled with lots of Ralph Lauren inspo. I was able to source lighting and nightstands on FB Marketplace, Homegoods and Amazon for bedding and window treatments. I have am asymmetrical situation on my headboard wall with a window involved. I added vinyl privacy window cling with a coordinating pattern to my sheets and swaged one panel. I used three panels on the other window to fill the space.

I'm not so concerned(these days) with trying to make my space look or feel "lux" or "expensive", and my overall taste and design aesthetic is in a transition at the moment(to what I'm not sure yet....probably SUPER modern or even futuristic) but I do have a WILDLY inappropriate sense of humor and I do believe in decorating the bathroom, and also tend to have a case of potty shyness......so next bathroom redesign is getting a gallery wall of an eclectic mix of portraits(to include animal portraits) facing the "throne" and a basket of porn and "home and gardens" mags next to the throne, lol. See....like I said, a wildly unhinged sense of humor

Every other points you made was good except for the 1st one... "NO WALLPAPERS AND NO PAINTING IN THE BATHROOOMM"... those are the worst thing to capture moisture in the wall and damage it from inside... and bathroom is equal to 24/7 moisture... painting will ruined if you hang them and wallpaper will trap moisture inside, resulting wall damage/chiping

I grew up with mixed century modern. And I didn’t like it then. And I still don’t. My husband loves it. But he’ll never live with it as long as I’m around. I would love a sectional. But my living room is small. So I doubt I’ll ever have one. Maybe if I move to a bigger house. But I like my small house, because it’s easy to keep clean. I also want a new mattress. So I’m going to try to talk him into one. Our mattress is old, I remember buying it. But it was a long while ago. And we need a new bed frame. I’m not going for the adjustable one. Just one that won’t kill my dogs if they go under our bed. I know the mattress in the guest room is newer than ours. So I’m going with that first to convince him.

    Please not more MCM!
Of course there were some gorgeous designs in that era. I completely agree with that. But a lot of the designs I see now just look like all the older relatives' homes looked when I was a kid and it's boring to me. Also, my first student apartment with my parents' hand-me-down living room. It was great. I loved having actual furniture and it did its job well, but I am not looking to return there nearly three decades later. It's too soon for some of us older folks, dammit!

Wallpaper in the bathroom where you bathe / shower doesn't make sense to me. The steam / humidity is the enemy even with ventilation.
The wallpaper will peel off and discolour over time.
Bathrooms need to be practical with storage solutions.
I enjoy colour - each bedroom has a feature wall: deep cherry red, deep blue, dark velvet green and honey yellow. I wouldn't colour drench because by 2026 it will be 'dated'. Paint is expensive and for rooms to look elegant, it needs a professional painter to apply.
MCM has always been popular. It may have slightly decreased this year but always in the top 5 styles. A more enthusiastic version of Scandi.
Sectionals have been 'in' since 2015 in various forms. The sofa is a runner up.

Really, people forget to decorate the guest bathroom? I have always decorated first the areas that guests will see. So, besides the living room, kitchen, I’ve always decorated the guest bathroom and a guest bedroom. Heck, I even decorate front stoop for seasonal so the first thing they see hopefully puts a smile on her face.
