Ryno since you’re in the market for Tractors hit up good works tractors he’s another RUclipsr who’s small business is buying and selling tractors + the attachments he has a ton of great information on his channel also
You've been having really good content lately. Not that I don't like some of the other videos, but I like the outside ranch work and construction work videos. Keep up the good work.
You can get higher concentration vinegar (30%)to spray those weeds on the gravel zone to kill the roots for up by the house. Not worth it for the drive.
For bigger acreage I use my zero turn and a 60" pull behind offset deck mower. I cut 64 inches plus 60" on the deck mower each pass. I love that setup. Plus once you get use to the zero turn with a wider deck you can cut under your fence eliminating about 95% of you eat eating.
As someone who cuts yards as a side hustle when I’m not working. If you put mulching blades on your mower it will cut out a lot of having to mow spots twice. I use mulching blades all year long. Even on my push mowers
I’m my opinion you need to look into a 3r or 4r series John Deere I own a 4052r John Deere on 18 acres of land love the thing to death. John Deere is more expensive than Kubota but it’s worth every penny. Tractor time with tim is another good channel To watch.
Personally run a M4-071 alot at the farm I work at and it is super nice. Its not extremely big, its on the smaller side but its got alot of power and is very capable for just about anything you can throw at it.
I have a Kubota M8540 and a 3510 bush hog I love it and would definitely recommend it. I think the 8540 is between a M4 and M5 in HP. For sure would say tractor with loader over skid steer for the ranch.
When we are doing a mainline grind and pave job we normally give the grindings for free if it is beneficial for us. We have an asphalt plant that uses recycled asphalt to produce new asphalt pavement so it normally all depends on cost. I will tell you that the grindings that you have will last forever and hold up!! A lot of people would prefer grindings because of cost and it lasts and after rolling it in is a hard surface!! It does suck that they arent trying to spread it out for you! We would come in with belly dumps and that would be so much easier for your grader!
Personally have a Kubota M4-071 deluxe cab for two years now love it. It has about 500 hours on it lots of power have tons of attachments for it like in Grappler ,forks ,brush hog ,grading scraper ,ploughs ,disc and Bucket would highly suggest getting rear wheel weights and maybe even having a ballast box as I have both while lifting heavy loads it stables the tractor a lot makes it easy to move around with heavy loads in the front
Gotta say the view of the mountains from your house lord that’s beautiful! I can see why you put up with the California bullsh*t. Also Kubota's are super nice and definitely have alot of the kiss method to it’s construction.
Kubota makes a good tractor Ryno. The M4 and M5 series is a good choice for your needs. I also think a Ventrac would serve you good also Ryno for your ranch. They have multiple attachments for them to do exactly what you need to do on the ranch.
I've used stihl for 35 years we have a mile of fence along the road then much more cross fences and buildings to go around. It took us a couple curved shaft style to figure out the straight shaft is the premium ones. A few years ago I bought a 2 stroke and a 4 stroke Huskivarna they suck took them back and got stihl . Will never own anything but stihl
Nothing but good things to say about the Kubota M4D-071 has a ton of power and its really nice not having a hydrostatic transmission that will over heat especially you being in Cali where it gets 100+ degrees in the summer
Make sure u get a tractor south a bucket and quick conect system so you can switch to a set of forks easily and quickly. that was my first upgrade was a quick connect so i didn't have to get off the tractor and fight to get it unhooked
Get a kubota zd1021 if you get a zero turn. It’s a diesel and works the best. I use it for my lawn care company and it never gets hot like gas mowers. I run hours and hours at a time and it never even gets hot. And it also doesn’t burn through fuel. The diesel lasts about 20 hours before filling up with 5 gallons!
Go check out the Kubota MX6000 with a front end loader and have them install a 3pt top and tilt. The Kubota 1872 brush cutter works very well behind it, and as for grading work look into the grader scraper. I work for a dealership in Oklahoma and we sell an absolute ton of them. The warranty is bar none!
That’s zero turn is mostly for residential scag hustler and exmark make some pretty good commercial mowers that’s made for big fields and thick grass like that
i have a compact tractor with my own handbuilt cab and 4ft brush/mulch/lawn deck and its awesome for stuff like your field thats rough and uneven so id definitely get a tractor if i were you (plus you get fork attachments for them and better yet a bale spear to feed the animals
You should definitely get the farm tractor. Then you can add a deck mower attachement that runs behind it. It will make much quicker work of the fields
For getting equipment at a decent price, check out military surplus.. especially being in San Diego, there's a massive place that sells stuff from Pendleton etc. I think Gov Planet has a place out there too.
Ryno i am the same way i love heavy equipment since i was younger i still love heavy equipment love watching your channel u should get a kubota with a heater cab and a bucket on it they work really well
You get what brand you have the best support network near you. If it's Kubota, case, John deere ect. In the Midwest where I'm at it's the big 4, Case, John deere, Agco, Cat. In my area they have the best support network and there's factories within a couple hours of us. So get one that has really good service and support in your area. Dozer wise I could see a d5 size for you. Light enough, but enough umpfff for what you do. Keep an eye on auctions, forest service and others auction stuff off in your area.
Cub cadet is a consumer or home owner model. Go to a pro shop where contractors go to and test out some commercial or professional grade equipment. Also you never see any pros use curve shaft trimmers for a reason. Echo equipment is notorious for being cold blooded. Always use the choke for starting unless its like 90or so. Stihl trimmers have a vent on top of the fuel tank that goes bad and will allow the fuel to soak the air filter with fuel making it harder to start.
Awesome seeing a RUclipsr that puts in work. Great content! You should check out the ventrac also. They can be cheap at auctions and have a brush cutter attachment and many others.
Whenever you get an offer for someone to mow that much grass, it's very wise to jump on it ! Also make sure there's plenty of his favorite beverage available. 😉
I wouldn't use a zero turn in that I would buy a tractor with a pull behind brush hog. I have about a 15 acre yard in Ohio and I use a Kubota with a Land Pride 60 inch finishing pull behind and honestly that's to small and takes me hours. I need a dual pull behind. A brush hog leaves to many clumps for a yard but is good for the other 60 acres of my property.
I dunno, I love the channel diversity - building a restaurant, running equipment, truck shenanigans...I'm here for it brotha. That's the "work for it" life.
When you buy a zero turn for the ranch, I highly suggest the Hustler brand. The Raptor 52” is a homeowner model that I’ve used for the 7 acres on our farm when the 72” commercial grade mower was down. Kubota has a ton of attachments and is a good brand, I’ve run the Mahindra and think have better bang for the buck, all the attachments you need, more ergonomic design, easier to maintenance, and have better numbers for breakout force on hoe and bucket attachment. Just my unsolicited opinion lol
When u get a tractor get u a dr power timer to cut under all the fines u can get one to run behind the tractor or u can get one to pull behind the golf cart or miney truck
That tractor was what you needed to mow the field. It would have done full passes at 5mph all day. It would also chew up any small tree branches in the process.
I feel you on the "curved shaft" wire trimmer. Those are no good! I was a landscaping contractor for many years and always used the straight shafted Sthils. Cant beat those. The Sthil you have looks pretty good, probably jut needs a new carb. Worth the $20 investment to replace that tiny carb. :)
Ryno suggestion for your allergies is find a bee keeper in the area and eat the honey made from the flowers in the area. Many times it helps with allergies.
Ryan you know you can buy an inclosed cab Mahindra tractor with heat and air and def fluid tanks brand new they have all the attachments loader, brush cuters, box drag, Posthole drill, granted they aren't the top name in tractors but ive been on my friends and its a good little work horse best thing about it was no dpf system on it
That’s a nice mower but scags are faster and better built. Local dealer sells both and had opportunity to use each brand before purchase. Had mine for 6 years . Local school has 6 of them and 3 have 15000 plus hours and still Going strong. Video was great also.,
I don't know what it is about dump truck drivers and them feeling the need to run with in radio distance of each other. But after more than 25 years of loading and unloading them. I can't get them to run separate from each other to time the dump , spread, dump next truck. But everytime you dump them and space them out to keep a steady stream of dump, spread dump spread. They feel the need to team up and run convoy on the way to and from.
For fast knot down of a field go for a 5 foot bush hog ( brand name ) but any good brand would do, for a tractor get a kubota or john deere nothing under 45-50 HP +, with a loader
I’d recommend John Deere for any type of Ag tractor I work on them daily and they are built well I’ve seen other tractors and they just seem cheap. Kubota is a good brand also it would be my 2nd choice
Lower the mower deck down to 3.5"-3.0" and you'll have better results. You'll most likely end up using a large tractor with a trail behind mowing deck.
String would work so much better on the stuff around the fence. The blade is great if you have saplings and stuff like that that eats the string up because it’s to thick for it.
Look up ventrac mowers they have all kinds of attachments to it as well. Also look up Darwin’s grip for your weed eater it will save your back in the long run.
@8:35 the actual reason for curved and straight shaft weedwackers, So i worked for sears for 10+ years i started in law and garden and moved all over the store selling different things. No hit up Bruce Wilson
@@taylorchenal4555 bruce is from florida thats pointless thats litterally all the way across the pond
When he said “look at this bad boy” did any else say “no it’s a cub cadet” 🤣
I mean yes, but! James seems to be happy with it. Hope it does him well long term, but I doubt it will.
As a operator myself, all this content is a added bonus to your channel. Keep up the great work!
You've been having really good content lately. Not that I don't like some of the other videos, but I like the outside ranch work and construction work videos. Keep up the good work.
For tall stuff raise your blade to max height, then cut again at lower height. Hope that helps.
Yup a 4x4 cabbed tractor with front bucket. The 3 point on the rear you have lots of options for attachments
Those old Tractors are the best way to learn haha
As someone who cuts yards as a side hustle when I’m not working. If you put mulching blades on your mower it will cut out a lot of having to mow spots twice. I use mulching blades all year long. Even on my push mowers

Love seeing the ranch soooo green
Heavy equipment are the best toys ever and Exciting to us 👍👍👍👍
I have a Kubota M8540 and a 3510 bush hog I love it and would definitely recommend it. I think the 8540 is between a M4 and M5 in HP. For sure would say tractor with loader over skid steer for the ranch.
Soon
Bruh! Is your phone broke...give your fans some content.
I run a lawn care company and I have that same trimmer and it is a beast and it’s going on 3 years now.

Ryno if you get a zero turn Kubota or Scag is the way to go, cub cadet is good but I personally use a Scag Patriot with gator blades cuts great.
Kabota tractors are my favorite they work so good I use them for everything and I launch big as boats with them
Personally have a Kubota M4-071 deluxe cab for two years now love it.

Ryno get a mini lull. Them things are extremely versatile. A lot of farmers here in Georgia use them for a lot of farm work.
Make sure u get a tractor south a bucket and quick conect system so you can switch to a set of forks easily and quickly. that was my first upgrade was a quick connect so i didn't have to get off the tractor and fight to get it unhooked
The ranch animals always brings smiles to me 😂👌🏼👌🏼
Get a farm tractor can put a front loader on it get some pallet forks for it as well . Plus with a pto out the back you can use a big brush hog
Get a kubota zd1021 if you get a zero turn. It’s a diesel and works the best. I use it for my lawn care company and it never gets hot like gas mowers. I run hours and hours at a time and it never even gets hot. And it also doesn’t burn through fuel. The diesel lasts about 20 hours before filling up with 5 gallons!
papa ryno is the goat and im sure its calming to just cut grass all day

We have a 2016 kubota m9960 that does pretty good with a 15ft land pride shredder on it
Good to see all your furry animals. So sweet. You forget to show BBQ though. 😀
Keep up the amazing work! WORK FOR IT
Ryno i am the same way i love heavy equipment since i was younger i still love heavy equipment love watching your channel u should get a kubota with a heater cab and a bucket on it they work really well

A farm tractor or compact tractor would suit you good. Take a look at the Challenger MT445B, the 2010 and newer.

Ryno I have a M7040 Kubota love it have had no issues in 3 years since purchase
Awesome seeing a RUclipsr that puts in work. Great content!
You should check out the ventrac also. They can be cheap at auctions and have a brush cutter attachment and many others.
If u get a flail mower for a tractor the rears mowers are pretty much unmatched and u can use a quick hitch that’s what we use in orchards
You need to get yourself an old d2 or d4 and a disk. It will grow back lush in the winter then turn it back into soil for fire season.
Whenever you get an offer for someone to mow that much grass, it's very wise to jump on it !
Also make sure there's plenty of his favorite beverage available. 😉

Papa is using about 10inches of that 54”. Seems to be common with most 0 turns now days. Same thing with my 2021 badboy
It would have been easy to use the mini truck and goose neck to move the zero turn home!
I'm with you, want to return things in better conditions, if I going hunting or hiking always picking up trash other leave behind
When you buy a zero turn for the ranch, I highly suggest the Hustler brand. The Raptor 52” is a homeowner model that I’ve used for the 7 acres on our farm when the 72” commercial grade mower was down.

Love the Kubota m4s nice tractor, and being under 75 hp you don’t have def to deal with
That tractor was what you needed to mow the field. It would have done full passes at 5mph all day. It would also chew up any small tree branches in the process.
Next time you cut the grass you should put a giant “WORK FOR IT” cut out
I feel you on the "curved shaft" wire trimmer. Those are no good! I was a landscaping contractor for many years and always used the straight shafted Sthils. Cant beat those. The Sthil you have looks pretty good, probably jut needs a new carb. Worth the $20 investment to replace that tiny carb. :)
That John Deere 2020 is a good tractor that's wat my stepdad and his dad bush hogged with all last yr good tractor's
Ryno suggestion for your allergies is find a bee keeper in the area and eat the honey made from the flowers in the area.
Many times it helps with allergies.
The kubota tractors are deffently worth it, we run an L3010 and an L4701 and they are smooth and we have had 0 issues with eather of them.
He said he wanted a cab model, maybe a MX like Mike Morgan has
Everyone in my area has made the switch from Kubota to kioti tractors. They seem to be nearly identical, but way more affordable.
Ryan you know you can buy an inclosed cab Mahindra tractor with heat and air and def fluid tanks brand new they have all the attachments loader, brush cuters, box drag, Posthole drill, granted they aren't the top name in tractors but ive been on my friends and its a good little work horse best thing about it was no dpf system on it
M4-71 is the way to go for your use, it will give you the best bank for the buck and your use. I run one in Tennessee and love it.
That’s what I’ve got my eye on!
Yeah you definitely need a decent size tractor mowing all that, or get a hustler super Z zero turn with hyper drive they’re badass
That’s a nice mower but scags are faster and better built. Local dealer sells both and had opportunity to use each brand before purchase. Had mine for 6 years . Local school has 6 of them and 3 have 15000 plus hours and still
Going strong. Video was great also.,
Stand on or walk behind with velke can trim and ride at the same time steer with 1 trim with other
Hey ryno I know this might be late but you can put a brush cutter on the milwaukee I have done it and it works great.....it's all over RUclips
You can change out the blades for brush!
I bought an older scag turf tiger last spring and LOVe it!!! I bet the cub cadet cost more than $3500???
I don't know what it is about dump truck drivers and them feeling the need to run with in radio distance of each other. But after more than 25 years of loading and unloading them. I can't get them to run separate from each other to time the dump , spread, dump next truck. But everytime you dump them and space them out to keep a steady stream of dump, spread dump spread. Stop apologising n keep on doin what you do lol!! Great content🇬🇧🇬🇧
I’ve worked on a lot of old weed wackers. Change out all the fuel lines and clean it, it will fire up
Awesome video with James and papa ryno
Papa Ryno out there killin it
Kubota makes a enclosed cab zero turn with air conditioning with a 72 inch deck. You should check it out.
Go the tractor you can get multiple attachments for them
For fast knot down of a field go for a 5 foot bush hog ( brand name ) but any good brand would do, for a tractor get a kubota or john deere nothing under 45-50 HP +, with a loader
It’s really cool after all this time you are still doing so bro
Love the ranch content
Great video today ! Thanks 👍
A high wheel string trimmer would work great for the fence line
40 min video! Let’s go bro much love from Camargo Chihuahua Mexico 🇲🇽 the paisas fw DmaxRyno !
Get you the hustler super 104. Big ass zero turn
You'll most likely end up using a large tractor with a trail behind mowing deck.
get one of those 20 ft golf lawn mowers. Theyre 60k msrp, but my unc got one from auction for 11k.
Best and most durable weed eater in the market I run them commercially for the last 5 years and counting
That so fucking cool dude to have your own big ass machine like that damn
Happy Monday!
That stuff in my experience the more you drive on it the harder it gets. Now you can't go do burn outs on it but that is perfect for your road.
This is the intro of all intros. Great work broz
You should reach out to RK tractor or YTM for a sponsorship. You need a RK 37 with the amount of property you have.
I love my echo curve shaft edger😭
They have cold mix and hot mix asphalt
Cold mix is for pot holes and cracks
Hot mix is main road paving
String would work so much better on the stuff around the fence. The blade is great if you have saplings and stuff like that that eats the string up because it’s to thick for it.
Man you wouldn’t even have to pay me for that, I’d do that all day, so satisfying
Look up ventrac mowers they have all kinds of attachments to it as well. Also look up Darwin’s grip for your weed eater it will save your back in the long run.
@8:35 the actual reason for curved and straight shaft weedwackers,
So i worked for sears for 10+ years i started in law and garden and moved all over the store selling different things. I have a ton of Knowledge for nothing known, BUT on the Curved shaft weed wacker they are curved for shorter people, 5'7 and below and the Straight shaft weed wacker are made for 5'8 and above
They were actually made for that reason.
So someone like me 6+ feet tall if i use a curved weed wacker i hunch over to use it, were the straight shaft i get to stand upright...
Curved shaft trimmers should never be built or sold. The handles can be adjusted on the straight shaft trimmers to accommodate the height of the user. As a pro of 20 years I have seen both men and women professional contractors all using straight shaft trimmers.
