This is pretty insane how well alot of these vehicles actually hold up (..."hold up") to the horrendous beating. But I can't help feeling a little sad for what the end result is for most of these running, driving vehicles. I imagine the ones that are hurt bad enough would become scrap metal...
I used to do tuff trucks occasionally and most of the time the trucks need parts that cost more than the value of the truck even though they still run & drive. For instance I've had SUV's that were only worth around $700 - $1000 which ran & drove but still needed 4 new tires, new brakes, new shocks, engine has 250,000 miles with 7 different oil leaks, etc. That stuff can cost thousands of dollars to fix and that's doing labor myself. If you notice a lot of the trucks in these tuff truck videos have bald tires. On some SUV's it can cost $700 - $800 for all 4 new tires. Right now I have a 2005 Toyota Sequoia SR5 4wd I'm using as a farm truck. From the outside looks good. Leather interior, A/C cold, engine runs good. However the frame has rust holes, steering rack leaks, power steering pump leaks, catalytic converters stolen, bald front tires, all 4 shocks are bad, and it has 265,000 miles. I bought it for $300 which was about scrap value at the time.
