I absolutely love the exposition scene where Mhok walks around Day's bedroom for the first time. From looking at a sleeping Day, to observing everything about Day's room - the general chaos, the fish tank, the plants, the pictures, the books. The closed curtains. The entire scene is a window into Day's life.
Li-Ming and Mhok are very much the same when they want to know and understand the world the person they are taking care of. Li-Ming went out of his way to learn sign language and asked the right questions regarding Heart's disability so that Heart didnt feel like he was abnormal. Here Mhok is also wanting to try to understand Day's world, by blind folding himself and navigating with a cane, and by also starting to ask the right questions, so that he knows how to take care of Day with the hopes that Day will live a normal life as much as he can and not let how other people look at him deter him from achieving this goal. Both Li-Ming and Mhok found that Heart and Day were not abnormal people. With both Moonlight Chicken and Last Twilight being P'Aof projects you can see, excuse the pun, the similarities between the two relationships. The key word here is TRY.

YAY!!🎉🎉🎉 More "mature" themed series being added to the BL genre! Besides the overall quality of the production, I think what I appreciate the most is the in-depth reality that is being shown--no repeated ad nauseam cutesy dialogue or over-used BL tropes. (Each to his own--nothing against them--but the genre needs to expand to include ALL sorts of stories.) Yet, there are still wonderful light-hearted moments which make us laugh. IMO, I have looked after hundreds of fish during my childhood. I have never seen fish knocked if we put a new one into our aquarium if the temperature of the water is not extremely different.
