Man...I was in Los Angeles with my best friend just 2 weeks ago. It was just awesome. Venice is the coolest and most casual place on this planet. I miss the whole city of LA including the legendary pier in Santa Monica... I even miss Denny's, Wendy's and of course In and Out😊😋 Then we were in San Francisco for a short time, that was just awesome. Anyway, California is forever in my heart now and I will be back. Greetings from Germany
That intro gives me hope and sadness. A first generation immigrant to this country that shows more love and appreciation to this country than 95% of the people in Los Angeles.
I wish that my Grandfather had bought a house there when it was built in the 20's. A "cheap" one sells for $1.5 million now. I believe that the original sign was made of wood, and rotted out in the 40's. Great Video.

I lived in LA in the early 90's. I went up to the sign back then. I'm not in bad shape but I was heavily into martial arts then but you'd need to be in good shape to climb up there.

I got quite close to the Hollywood sign about 40 years ago, standing on the road above/behind it. On that day we were there, not too long after a heavy rainstorm the ground was too muddy to safely go down and touch it, so we didn't. I'm somewhat envious that you got to paint it. Lucky for you, your dream came to fruition.
