Great video. If you don't want to do all the measuring you can also take a strip of paper, wrap it around the bearing and cut it to length at one revolution. Then put the strip of paper in the pipe as you measuring gauge.
Seems like masking tape would be ideal for this use. Your technique of direct transferring the distance seems like it would be more precise than measuring, too.... Thanks for the great tip, Zep M!
Great method for transferring dimensions from the inside of a piece of pipe to outside a piece of pipe also if wanting to make a slip fitting between pipe pieces.
I've searched the internet for months and found nothing about this, of course till I searched RUclips directly just now. I did this with a piece of copper tubing to see if the idea I had was even feasible. Turns out it was, but copper tubing is alot easier to bend than mild steel tubing. I'm currently planning to shrink the diameter of the primary tubes on a set of old exhaust headers I have because the diameter I need is not sold in a complete fabricated set. Any tips on bending tubing like this would be awesome if you have any extra to share. Awesome video man! Proves I'm not completely insane after all lol
You can use a pipe expander with an impact gun. Also, using the same math, figure out the new diameter and weld in a piece that you cut out of another section of pipe.
If you can't figure out how to make your own vice then you can use 2 heavy boulders in a pinch and drop them on the pipe to bend it in a mad max situation

You’re a life saver

Exactly what I needed!
Thank you my Brother!
🙏🙏🙏🙏 ✌️✌️✌️✌️
That's exactly what I needed. Thank you.
Great sleeve alternative!
That worked out pretty good bud
Thankyou so much for sharing this , it got me out of an "exhausting situation.
The best part it’s of the video it’s a the north American using metrication lol ,!!!!
I work in banana measurements.
This is just the video I need for this project . 👍👍👍👍💯🙂
Awesome thank you
thanks a lot for this solution. It helps me a lot.
Fantastic video. Thanks for a great practical demonstration and some new knowledge.
Great video Thank you sir
This is really great if you can't or don't want to sleeve the larger pipe down to a smaller diameter using a thicker wall. 👌
Awesome.. thank you so much..
Thank you sir for your explanation and the video l appreciate so much
Not all heros wear capes 👏
That's clever man. Nicely done.
amazing video, super helpful

Ty great vid
Great video thanks!
yup. i got an idea now. thank you
Awesome 👏 👍
Oh yesss! Tnx
Thank you sir
cool trick, but I can usually find a bushing to fit
Is there a hand tool that can shrink the diameter of pipes? For example a hydraulic one?
Yes, there are pipe swaging machines, but they're kinda expensive.
I loved your safety shoes. Where can I purchase? 1:55
TheLirongolan007 Walmart
very useful if you have a short pipe...
Was there any tension on the pipe when you made the vertical cuts?
No, none
Can I use the same benchwise method for stainless steel pipe?? (I mean to convert it into oval shape)
Yes.
I like how you use pi 3.14
How to increase the pipe thickness? Please explain with demo
You can use a pipe expander with an impact gun.
Also, using the same math, figure out the new diameter and weld in a piece that you cut out of another section of pipe.
@@jasongreene303 then
You did show how you cut it
Can you make a video of buying the proper size pipe at home depot or some place similar? Because some of us dont have vice clamps.
If you can't figure out how to make your own vice then you can use 2 heavy boulders in a pinch and drop them on the pipe to bend it in a mad max situation
Well I suppose this certainly would work if my vise hadn't snapped in half
sorry to hear about your vise, hope you get a new one
Sigarette ends everywhere .... 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈
But what you showed wasn't 15,7mm it was 19mm gap.
you should have seen it from my angle :)
@@lostalchemist3180 I was thinking that, anyway that worked beautifully on my project, thanks for sharing the trick.
He didn't want to crush his finger?? This video sucked.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Seriously though, nice work for a good DIY project.
