I enjoyed watching the process and thank you for sharing 😊the pastel painting is lovely and worth framing. The oil painting is very beautiful. Did you gesso the paper beforehand? Wonderful video and I’m looking forward to seeing the next one 😍
Your kid-photo at the end reminds me of Tiffany Poon, a concert pianist I follow in here who traces her love of the piano back to a toy piano her parents gave her, which she wore out trying to play complex tunes. Your book about life in Bali reminds me of Andriani Soekarno, an Balinese artist and teacher based there whom I also follow in here and whom I've just told about you. It's enlightening and fun seeing and hearing your thoughts and your process as you focus on this new style. Your high-key experiment seems to have succeeded in capturing the essence of ITM in yet a new way. The main thing I notice here is the many intriguing triangles and shapes formed by the arm pose, making her feel equal parts real and abstract. Sounds like your process runs the gamut of emotions which I think we can all relate to. Of course the Art Muse can be frustrating at times, but where would we all be without her?
Oh it sounds like we have a similar journey just with different art forms! Haha I didn’t expect anyone to read that page in my book, a beautiful culture, I’ll be sure to check out her channel thanks:) I’m glad you appreciate that part of the painting! It took a lot of consideration to be minimal yet deliberate with the brushstrokes🤯 something I’d like to work on more. It absolutely does but totally worth it😊
For me simple/sketchy is the name of the game. If you look back at some of the early illustrators like Howard Pyle and N.C. Wyeth, their sketches, rather than finsihed work, always seemed more complete. Yours has a wonderful “old” style, illustrator look!
It's lovely to see how cultivating your creative practice as a child and remaining consistent has paid off in adulthood, which is clear through each of your stunning pieces. Also, thanks for the tip of noting down your colour mixes - it's not one that I had considered before either!
Great stuff! Always a good idea to write down your colourmixes; making that a routine every time is perfect. Just a great way to remember. The painting is light and your painting-strokes just very purposeful, but "loose" at the same time. Inspiration can come at any time, from anything, from everywhere, if you are "tuned into your surroundings". I have often said - as an artist you never really shut off your creativeness - you just can't. You have definitely got the right ideas about that. Finished painting is just wonderful!
It's perfectly awesome in no words! And I think so good feeling that your artwork, video visual, fashion style are all attractive as beautiful and aesthetic. Thank you for sharing and inspiring me! ❣️
Beautiful painting, thank you for sharing your process. I've been thinking about buying a tablet to sketch on to work out paintings so it was interesting watching you use one. I'm just confused to which tablet model to buy. That's a good idea with the colour mixes, I've only just started painting and use acrylic paint. I get frustrated to how fast it dries and can never remember how I came up with that colour.
Thank you! I use an iPad 12.9 inch and I’ve found having the big size really helpful as I use it to display my reference photo. It is an investment but worth it for me as I use it everyday. The Apple Pencil with procreate works really well for planning paintings! Oh that’s something I don’t miss about acrylic paint😅 I used to use slow drying mediums and a stay-wet palette to try and help it
@@izzywebberart Thank you so much for responding Izzy. I'll definitely look at the ipad 12.9 inch then and also the drying medium and stay-wet palette. They sound like they would help. I think I also don't put enough paint out. I really enjoy your youtube channel. Been learning lots as well.
Thank you! Oh I’m not sure what it would be called tbh. Someone said ‘Old style illustration’ and I think that fits! You could definitely use other mediums, I was considering acrylic actually. And I think gouache would work well but I’ve never used it
Awesome artwork!

Thanks a lot! No need to gesso Arches oil painting paper as it’s already primed for painting ☺️

Yes I’m really loving that sketchy/illustration style! Thanks for the recommendations excited to look them up🙌
that's a really smart way to take reference photos, I might have to give it a try 😮
Thank you! Go for it 🥰

Thank you! Yes it’s nice to look back and notice growth like that😊 haha you’re welcome, I’m glad it’s not just me!

Thank you! Yes I’m glad I finally realised😅 absolutely, that’s exactly how I feel!

Thanks so much, that’s really sweet❤️
I loved watching how you brought this all together! So beautiful!
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed!
The finished self-portrait reminds of Isabelle Adjani ❤
Oh I haven’t heard her name for a long time! I used to have a French next-door neighbour who would always tell me I looked like her
I truly admire your art style and how you paint people. I can't do that, haha!
Thanks so much! You can do it too, it just requires practice and patience😅
@@izzywebberart I have just watched your newest video:). I will give it a go but for now they look as if a real human was combined with a cartoon haha
What a talented artist!
Thank you!
yes going great. thanks for sharing.

So beautiful! Well done 😍. What style is this called? Can I achieve it with other mediums or only oil paint?
Thank you! Oh I’m not sure what it would be called tbh. Someone said ‘Old style illustration’ and I think that fits! You could definitely use other mediums, I was considering acrylic actually. And I think gouache would work well but I’ve never used it
Definitely alot looser than your other stuff, I like it. Cute picture at the end too 😊
Thank you🥰
What paper do you use - its oil paint isn’t it?
Yes it’s oil paint on Arches oil painting paper
Do you frame under glass?
It started I must admit a crush. So very shortly became respectful admiration. So beautiful and very talented
