    Hana, you always give the best advice. I love the new set up as well. It's so lovely. But I loved the eclectic look of the old homeschool room set up. I loved looking behind you and spotting completed projects because it felt like we all did them together. Remember when you did the Spot It posts? Those were great. Welcome back to RUclips btw. I hope your nephew is well, I think of your sweet sister a lot lately since having my own health battles. Thanks.

      Hello! You have an amazing memory yes, we used to do that. Our new set up is certainly different than our old one that’s for sure. I did include as many of the projects that had on display in our old school room. Next time I’ll pan up to show you that they’re on the bookcase towards the top :-)

    So happy you back to RUclips!!!! I have a 5 year old who is speech delay in English but quite opposite with second language ( we read aloud everyday , go to speech twice a week to our local school and teacher recommended to drop homeschool and send my daughter to full day since she has not progressed ) would you have any advice since you homeschool all your kids and I am sure they all learned differently. Thank you !! Can’t wait to see your future videos!!

      Thank you! You ask a really great question. Firstly, is the speech delay because your child is bilingual? If your child is bilingual and you are speaking your native tongue at home and they are not proficient in the language of the country they live in, all the anecdotal evidence I’ve seen shows that children will catch up and be proficient in both languages even if they are delayed at first. If the language, delay or speech delay is for hearing loss or another issue than early intervention is key.

      @@PepperandPine so nice of you to answer!! My daughter speaks 95% Russian and at home we speak 3 languages but she prefers that one ) we did early intervention and was only diagnosed with speech delay , I guess teacher’s concern at school is ( our homeschool and not enough exposure to English language) it’s interesting that I start watching your homeschool journey when I didn’t even had my child , you are really an inspiration!! In a million years I would think I would homeschool 🥹but here we are even with speech delay and people around me judging we are doing it 😅🥹😅 thank u 🙏

    Hanna could you please share a full day? I’m interested in how much I should be having my 6 year old do. We usually just do a main lesson. He is really out of it and not up for more academics after the main lesson.

      One main lesson is amazing for a six year old. Is it for grade one? I find that with young children. they need a lot of play and practice of gross motor skills. Six might be a little young for the work that’s associated with the main lesson. So your child might be getting academically fatigued with just one main lesson. You might include other activities that are engaging and fun to do even though they are academic like playing scrabble, or Monopoly or other games. But also at this age a lot of open ended Free Play is especially important for them.

    I would love to see a list of main lesson blocks for a typical year, as well as what the daily work would include. I've heard that new information is all provided on the first day of the main lesson, but it sounds like there's some new information as well as some review every day? I'm going to re-watch and take some notes:) JazakuAllah khyrin for this information!

      (To clarify, new info would be at the start of each 2-3 day cycle and not just at the start of a 4-week block)

      Good question and I can see the confusion. Let me see if I can record a video that explains it further.

    100% agree with prioritising open ended play* over academics for primary school.

    We do school 3 days a week since we have co-op the other 2 days. How can this be adapted to a 3 day a week schedule?

    • @PepperandPine
      @PepperandPine  8 месяцев назад +2

      If I were in that situation, I would omit some main lessons and chose at least half the lessons I wanted to cover. Maybe not for math though. Then I would use your three days to do the main lesson. So basically three a week.
