Fantastic video. I can recommend his training and program services. I've ran his squat program a couple of times and I've had fantastic results. The insights he offers on the squat are just phenomenal. If you're someone who enjoys squatting this is the guy to follow.
I like your points about the back squats. A lot of people have this overly simplistic view of the movement - they think it either has to be "super vertical torso" or "super bent over", but the reality is - a strong high bar back squat is a combination. More tilt than a front squat, but less than a low bar powerlifting style squat. It's a beautiful feeling when you get that perfect "wedged under the bar" sensation and you can feel your quads and glutes firing together. It's why it's probably the most athletic out of all exercises.
Great video. I noticed in your squat program on your website and in other weightlifting programs there are almost never any squat sets above 6 reps. Is this because the higher rep ranges aren't valuable for weightlifting, or is it to stop people slowly grinding out the last rep on a set of 10?
I'm using a maximum of 8 reps in my main exercises for my programs. Only in accessories and mobility drills do I use more than 8 reps, typically around 10-15 reps. Form is important as well, and when you do too many reps, it becomes harder to maintain good form.
@@gsincraian ah I see, what about it's use to decide fatigue on a given day and set? example: I may be able to hit 75%×6 on squats yesterday but not tomorrow (for whatever reason) but could probably hit an adjusted RPE 8 on both days thanks
@@dhruva8106 I know what you're saying, but that's where the difference is made between an athlete who progresses and one who stagnates or regresses, because those who progress finish their work even when it's hard!

Master of the No No No squat 💪!
🙏
nice session. What do you concentrate on with your hands/grip and upper back?
thank you.
I was mentioning that I'm not trying to squeeze my shoulder blades, or trying to bend the barbell with arms, etc.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Is there a good reason for Olympians to back squat? Since the front squat is closer to what is actually used in the clean and jerk.
and the back squat is more closer to snatch :)
@gsincraian Good point! I've not learned the snatch yet, because of bad shoulder mobility. Am working on your tall snatch video now.

dear Gabriel, thanks for vlog!
what are your thoughts on using RPE in training?
welcome, if you are not knowing your curent 1 rep max, you can use RPE as well.
