I'm got a 130 combo Pepe mill in the mail. It was a Huge expense for an aspiring jeweler like myself, but being able to moosh metal is a key skill, so I saved up. I'm even more excited and a bit relieved after watching this. Good stuff. 🎉

I have this same mill and recently added 2 pieces of sponge that I siliconed just above the top roller so it comes into contact lightly with the roller. Also for the bottom but had to silicone it just in front for contact. Applied light oil to the contact points so that it keeps the roller from getting rusty. Going to watch your other mill videos now. Thanks for all your advice.

I have Durston and I have PEPE. I have come to find that over the years PEPE is far superior as a Durston‘s tend to rust a lot easier and mark up and stain easier This is my observation. If I was to buy another mill it is going to be a Pepe for sure. Plus the price difference is in PEPE‘s favor.

Would a combo mill be as good as just a straight rollers? I have a combo now and at times just want a flat for my potter texture plates. Just hate the idea of getting another mill just for one thing. As for the power mill vs manual mill, the only thing id ever want the power mill for is for milling out sheet from retail ingots. If im pouring my own sheet its gonna be close to the thickness i need but if somone gives me a bar to use for their special project then the power mill is nice to roll that sheet out to the thickness needed. But jewlry work in the shop vs. Making sheet from bars is two different things and where id want a seperate powered mill for sure.

How do I fix Pepe rolling mill if it is not even?

Hi I've only just started into looking into making rings. Most equipment is surprisingly cheap, but the rolling mills are the exception.
For someone just getting started and trying things out is buying some pre-made wire a good option, or am I dreaming?

You absolutely do not need a mill to get started. Buying wire and sheet is what many people do. Even professionals will buy something now and again.

Rolling mills can be calibrated if they don’t close up evenly.

I Saw that also but then it comes back. @3:19 to @3:52 don't know if that's a youtube error or the upload. Just about 30 seconds of audio only. Otherwise a good overview of the mill.
