this reminds me of a short manga i read. Plot: a guy is being haunted by the ghost of his dead girlfriend, only he can see her. She follows him everywhere. Plot twist, the guy accidentally killed her by pushing her down some stairs as if he was trying to push her a way from him, he realizes what he has done and runs away. It gets to the point where the guilt overwhelms him and he jumps of the roof of his school and only to find out he hasn't passed on and is now stuck as a ghost with his yandere ghost gf
Honestly This situation wouldn't be too hard to get out of when you think about it, let's see this person has been stalking you for years, let's say around 2 due to the process of moving and changing identities, she definitely has a police record on her, at least how I would do it there would be multiple police calls, and maybe even arrests, not to mention she broke into my house and was planning to do some things I at that time did not like, making this more of a home defense case than a murder, about the attachment part, I could maybe see like an exorcist or a psychic, cuz if hauntings exist the people who can see the dead probably do to, let's say the court case is around 3 months long I get the verdict of not-guilty due to substantial evidence, after those 3 months I'm going to go see an exorcist and get that shit out of me, I would also go to Vegas and solicit multiple prostitutes to make her very pissed off because what it seems she can't really do much to me, But that part is very optional and maybe I just won't do it Anyways that's my TED talk of how I would get out of the situation
