As an employee always give your best, you never know when promotion comes knocking on your door. Especially when you least expect it. Honestly your CEO may not test you this way but know that the CEO test is always ongoing unknown to you. Why wouldn't you want to promote the one who has your business interest at heart? Excellent video with great lessons.

I used to work for a very, very rich person. I appreciated my boss and I was thinking that should something happened and lost everything I would continue to work for him. Salary or not I would be there for him!!

AFTER all the Boss done for ALL THREE of them ONLY Greg was Faithful.
I have reservations with this vid. I am blessed to not live check to check. I probably would have taken a chance with this company in the vid and stayed. But many live check to check. I feel like it is not reasonable to expect folks to work 3 months without pay. I actually worked with a company (over a decade ago) that told employees they needed to close 10 days to get updated on payroll and accounting. The company did not Reopen. I read the writing on the wall MONTHS before and started looking for another job. I was persistent and got what I rightfully worked for. Many folks who stayed were owed MONTHS of pay and bonus checks. Thea company ended up getting sue by the state they were in. It was on the news. The lady who had a sister to take care of should have been allowed to stay. She did not have a shitty attitude unlike the other female employee. A boss can be the deciding factor in wanting to stay or leave. I like my boss. But company loyalty cannot be the only factor in deciding to stay in a job. People have responsibilities outside of a job also.

Last place I worked I had similar conversation. I stood by my boss and told him even if the company has setbacks ill be happy to continue working. It was the same test of loyalty towards the company. Fortunately, no one said they were there for just the money. Work should be like a family.

Realistically in the US I’ve never heard of a company asking to hold salaries they just lay off ppl . I think that’s best, you cannot bet on ppl using their savings bc their job isn’t paying them. Also buying them gifts is just that, gifts it should not be used as leverage to get them to stay and go thru hard times. This video was crazy to me!!!
They had a good boss but those two girls were not loyal because what if she really had lost everything that's sad 😔
Good video, good lesson and all but next time maybe tone down the music when the actors are speaking because I do think it’s kind of rude to have the music playing so loud and the actors are speaking like mice, basically.
In defense of the two women, in an ideal world, they wouldn't have to had to think about leaving if it were that easy to save money frequently enough to be able to resist such inconveniences. We have to keep in mind that some people have obligations, such as taking care of children or taking care of someone, that aren't as resistant to immediate change, and any temporary shortfalls of the income that maintains them will cause immediate damages. Their wages may also make it difficult for them to save money, given any forces that are beyond their control, such as inflation and the cost of living.
I like how their reactions were realistically portrayed, as in real life, such loyalties can easily be damaged of all parties aren't being constantly satisfied. In this case, it was based upon the boss' gamble to hope that her employees would work, "for free", without regard to their own needs. While it did expose how much of a snake that they both were, it also teaches us that there is more to loyalty than just spoiling someone with gifts to maintain their loyalty. It also takes for all parties to be able to balance their own needs, with those of the conditions that demand their presence, in order to build and fortify one's loyalties.
