Something to say about NARC, if there is an AMS system near your target, your NARC will be taken down by it. Pretty sure that was my experience when messing around with the NARC.
I don't use the Trubuchet in MWO, but I love getting one early on in Battletech. The Trebuchet and Whitworth have to be the best medium missile boats when starting a playthrough of that game.
I like my Trebuchets. In particular my AC20 2 Snubby one. The 7K. People will ignore it because it's a Trebuchet, until they get blast-O'ed. :D Thanks for the excellent content as always!
Another good mech to go on a Larc (LRM+NARC) with is the artic wolf 1, it also has narc duration buff and can boast 8 LRM 5 along with a Narc. I go with an xl 255 a ton of narc and the rest in LRM ammo
Good video Bara. I never ran a Trebuchet seriously but I think I'd take your base build, remove two jump jets and add more ammo and engine size. Trying to NARC anything is already pretty tough and trying to do it in the air is just unnecessary, IMO. Still, the numbers don't lie, LRM boats still do good damage when properly supported.
The problem with it is ECM. With the current bubble radius, if three players have ECM, it's like the whole team does. After the next patch narc will be much more useful!
I feel like you trend toward going after bigger targets (for LRMs it makes perfect sense, I'm not criticizing your tactical choice lol). I don't think I've seen you run many mechs geared specifically towards swatting down lights. Anyway, great show. Always happy to see an LRM boat played *actively*.
A hippity hoppity cougar w tag and lrm 5s and ecm. Get up way high for best range and tag the enemies so allies can bombard them. Had a friendly catapult in mines. Went hilltop at edge of map. Got 3 assists via tag. Used my minimal missiles at end to hammer near broken mechs at range. Never got to use my ERsmalls. Catapult cleaned up. Near 900 dmg and 5 kills. No one likes to play support, but when it's there, everyone benefits.
My favourite mech build for lrms is a novacat b with 6 lrm 15s and a tag, can fire point blank for close range nope and punish enemies at a great distance hell of a time, for bonus my friends will run the same build with one of us as a stealth raven with narc to tag poor mechs
Novacat b is one of the best missile boats IMO. It has so much armor, you can really put your face out there and draw fire. It annoys the enemy so much they are incredibly willing to shoot at you outside of optimal range (mine is bright pink to help them out 😆). I'm looking forward to seeing how the next round of LRM adjustments affect it.
Love the video, good to see your channel is still going strong. It's been almost 7 years since I played any MachWarrior Online, and I'm going to try and get back into it this weekend. Are there any major changes I should be aware of? Or should I be able to jump straight back in like riding a bicycle?
It's still the same bicycle 😉 You will have to redo your skilltree first, since those have been changed and reset. The Meta is probably a bit different. Expect big alphas and be careful/stay with the blob. And there are new maps and weapons, both of which you maybe should check out in training mode. Apart from that - have fun!
Love my 7M on MW5, got it kitted as a close-in fighter with triple SRM 6's and triple small pulses, I think it's bugged because I can't get any other 7M's to run the same load and still have ammo 😂
Love the mech, hate the Narc, they are too hard to hit with. When I was still new to the game you had a video with this mech and I had a lot of fun playing it after that.
Now... run this again in a few weeks after the next patch. LRM velocity will drop by 18% and Radar Deprivation gets nerfed from 19 per node to 15 per node. (EDIT.. and also flattening out the LRM arcs.)
@@JagHiroshi The folks making all the balancing decisions feel differently. I'll leave salt out of the statement, but they're flattening trajectories and slowing missiles down to avoid unfair advantage to missile mechs.
@@JagHiroshi The Cauldron just has a weird hate-on for LRMs. LRMs are already pretty weak and easy to counter. There's no reason to nerf them any further.
I moved to ATMs a long while ago. All the close range hate of streaks with decent midrange ability. Hunchback IIc can run ATM6x4, a LOT of ammo, with a Tag, 94 KPH with either 3 or 4 JJs and you only have to strip arms to do it. You could also find the weight for a BAP if you see a lot of ECM spam. If you get within 300m or so you have an alpha of 72 in an extremely mobile medium; it’s a guilty pleasure mech for sure.
could a small improvement be moving the narc ammo in the arm containing the NARC launcher and add a CASE too? This way if you lose the arm equipped with the NARC launcher, you won't keep bringing risking and unuseable NARC ammo... fall damage reduction skill could be useful too
Imagining a Treb jumping like a Secret Service agent in front of another mech while shouting "get down, Mr. President!" made me chuckle.
NARC projectile speed is basically some guy walking it from the launcher to the target. :D

I adjusted by send a shot for the ams then NARC. Works okay. At distance NARC then immediately a shot.
That's why I double NARC. :)
Or lock target, wait for lrms to come in and send narc in along with the lrms, narc much more likely to get through that way
@@Poonbahbah but you have to stare at them longer.
When you took the Kokiak out of the fight during the second match, that was when your team really pressed the advantage.

I can get behind this, my daily driver is the Shadowhawk 2H, effective and smart mediums can shift the tide of battle.

Black Knight with shield dropping in February, the Red Reaper II! Looks like it's going to be on the right arm this time.
That was an unusual looking Grim plexus game. All the enemies went off to their own left side!

"...that's what the Charger does: he charges to the back line" lol Revisiting your channel after a break and loving the recent MWO content.
Thumbnail says "There is no escape"....... Starscream is that you??!!
1350 hrs in game and never fired a NARC! This could be the next project 😂

I'm gonna redownload this game i love it
Thanks for the video.
18:40 note how Baradul's team is balled up and enemy team is spread thin on minimap. And enemies are dropping one after the other.

Any chance you would play that 6 LPPC hunchback again? It was just the funniest thing haha
I may try out adding narc to my LRM blackjack.

I use this Mech's quirks for 2 MRM30s.
i like how you dust off old mechs and show how viable they can still be
I don't get the color scheme on that Onyx -- why would you want to stand out on the battlefield? Much easier to hit at a distance.
i have a feeling that the NARC is bugged because i sometimes miss shots too even when it was a guaranteed hit
AMS sometimes gets it
My only gripe is the lack of backup energy weapons, really.
I run Treb M with Tag, 2xERSL, and 2xLRM15. It's fun and can be surprisingly effective.
NARC should be fly by wire, like a tow missile
skip the narc and add a tag and a laser
thought u might like this
swooosh times

Weird. LRMs aren't a problem in the current meta. Mechs rocking large pulse HSL builds with X pulse are much more of a pain.

Narc only seemed mildly useful honestly.
The NARC projectile speed is BS. It has a 50% chance of being shot down by AMS on tabletop, implying that it's a fast projectile, not a slow one.
#freethewhoosh
if you think the trenchbucket is bad, you have a skill issue in builds. Love yourself more.
No build link, no watch
