  • In this clip from an upcoming Talk Toomey, Max Cavalera reflects on the 30th anniversary of Korn's debut album and its impact on him. He recalls listening to early promo material from both Korn and Deftones, initially doubting Korn's unusual name but growing to love the music. The conversation touches on the influence both bands had on each other, with Korn drawing inspiration from the Max's work, and the importance of sharing and exchanging creative influences in music.

Korn's first album is a masterpiece and was a revolution in heavy music. Still have my CD.

No Hope = No Fear is the song that got me into heavy music. I was a pure hip hop head and a friend played the Soulfly album for me…..fast forward and I own every album Max has been on that I can find and still counting.
    Thank you Max!

Just saw them on tour. They sounds tight and as good as ever. Hope they continue to make kick ass albums. Deftones too have been incredible. I hope to see Soulfly next year if they tour.

To me, Max definitely had an impact on the nu metal scene with Roots and the Headup song.

I just saw Korn live a few weeks ago and trust me, they're still the shit. Because it's their 30th anniversary, They played a lot of stuff from their first album and Life is Peachy. I was blown away by how great they still sounded
