Why would he travel in a helicopter when Israel threatened to kill him? Also why wouldnt he has a military escort? None of it makes sense.
It could also make perfect sense that the helicopter pilot lost control and crashed. Kobe Bryant was worth more than this guy and died the same way, they don't tend to take out political leaders subtly in countries like Iran.

@@J.D.Hardesty Agreed. I understand people's first instinct to believe that he was assassinated, but, in truth, pilot error or some other technical issue is more likely, particularly in a helicopter.

Helicopter crashed over an hour ago and they still haven't found any signs? He's gone. Helicopters can autorotate down to a safe landing over flat ground in relatively stable conditions, but unlikely this happened up in the mountains.

You don't just go missing in a helicopter crash. This story doesn't make any sense. If he was alive he would've announced it himself by now. This leaves Iran vulnerable. He's gone and they don't just want to come out and say it. They started with a "rough landing." Now it's a "crash" and he's "missing."
