Hey thanks for that! That's exactly what I'm going for! I love the long form videos, don't get me wrong....but for stuff that is just pure info, I love just the no-nonsense approach! Thanks for noticing! :-)
I used to work at a pepper hothouse. We'd be pruning every day and we routinely took the pruned leaves home to cook and eat. They taste and cook similar to spinach. We used to even sell bags of it. So leaves are edible if cooked down. We never ate them raw and not sure if there are contraindications to do so but cooked leaves I have eaten tons.
I enjoy all your videos...no matter the length. There is always something to learn. My dad grew the most beautiful peppers for years and luckily he past on his old school ways to me. You are using some of his old school ways. (He grew up on his grandmother's farm in Italy in the 20's to mid 30's.) He would have enjoyed your videos too. Take care!
I bought alfalfa meal from amazon to make compost tea. When it arrived today I realized it was from my favourite RUclips gardener. So Thank You! The alfalfa looks and smells great!
What? That's awesome!! Right on man. Remember, you don't need much. Mix it in with soils, your compost, spread it on top of your mulch. It really does work!
Quick correction here; the leaves of most Capsicum species are perfectly edible! They are often used in Filipino, and other southeast Asian dishes, or even as salad greens. They are the only nightshade plants with leaves and shoots that are safe to chow down on.
Just feed your own urine to your plant mix 1:20 for small plants and 1 :10 on big plants and they wil grow bigger like your Dreams :) much love from norway ❤️
@The Ripe, I got 6 small San Fansico chili, from my one chille plant. I have a fee other pepper plants but none producing,California w bell, my little goat keeps tasting. @@TheRipeTomatoFarms it has been a ruff journey for me this yr. I have sat a cried, for all the hard work I have been doing to get so little in return other than the painful lessons learned. Lol... I did harvest a some where around 4 -5 lbs of potatoes this morning from my march planting making my total spring harvest around 8-10 lbs of potatoes from about 20 plants, from potatoes I got from the store for eating, the needed more sun motr fertilizer. I have more started for a fall harvest, sunnier spot. I just do NOT think growing squash here is a good plan.
Hey Ryan..Bells for sure. Smaller peppers like Habs and Jalapenos I just let them go crazy. With Bells, I try to keep the plants to 5 peppers or less at a time. Now, they may fruit and produce 3-4 times a summer, so you're still getting 12-20 peppers each season...but not all at once. :-)
I DID! New camera and it introduced interference into my mic! Unreal. I like the camera so much, so now I am recording audio and video separately and the issue was fixed......except now each video is 2x the work, LOL!
For some reason my bell peppers plants would only grow a few pepper fruits and the ones that did grow would at best be the size of a mandarin when I got their seeds from the delicious store bought bell peppers that are slightly bigger than a softball :/. Great video though👍🏼
Thanks Daniel. That happens though....store bought Peppers are hybrids. They often don't grow true as the seeds are the outcome of unknown lineage. So what you see is completely normal unfortunately.
I believe it Alena. I've been watching John from Growing Your Greens for a decade now and he seems to be the master of that hot, desert climate growing. Its amazing what that guy can grow in those conditions!
@@TheRipeTomatoFarms He definitely has good tips. We live in the high desert in California and get rain maybe 4xs a year. This year my pepper plants are doing amazing with your tips and watering daily. Just fed them last week and so many new peppers
@@TheRipeTomatoFarms kind of shriveled and pale. Like tobacco mosaic virus....🤔 It can't be the watering. All of my other plants are fine. Just this one type. Happened last year also. Just this one type.

Out of all my pepper plants, several types, my Anaheim Chili peppers keep getting some kind of virus that makes the leaves look just horrible. 🤷♂️🤦
Some of my peppers are getting blossom end rot, added worm castings and boron for calcium.
