Paralives is the only life sim coming out this year that I actually care about, I even joined their Patreon last year, and get excited everytime Alex Masse sends me an email with new exclusive info on the games development. With all the problems with The Sims 4, especially lately, like items missing from packs and base game, just because of an update, and crashes, and it raining and snowing indoors, and so many other things, that EA tends to ignore mostly, I am really ready to just drop The Sims, especially because of the way EA treats us, like pests, and get into Paralives. As far as the blush on the body, I actually have CC skin detail I use sometimes for my Sims, so I will probably like this when I get the game, so I am glad they are keeping it as a option for those who like it. I think that is the way all games like this should do things, have stuff that appeal to different people, but just make it an option, so if you don't like it, you don't have to use it, but if you do, then you can use it. So everyone can be happy. I for one am not even a bit interested in InZOI by the way, the creator and studio making it, reminds me too much of EA, but the game may be worse then the Sims, because they planned to release it in December 2024, then those who tried the game out, pointed out the fact that the characters can't even talk to one another without standing up, which means if one character is sitting on a couch with another, they can't talk to each other while sitting down, they have to get up and stand a talk, which is so silly. I mean even in The Sims 2 Sims could talk to each other while sitting with each other. So InZOI may look great, but the gameplay is awful. So it proves that looks can be deceiving, because to look at it you would think the games mechanics would be better then The Sims 4, but it's not, it's not even as good as The Sims 2, which is weird. Also they aren't allowing same sex marriage, only civil partnerships. So to me there is only one life sims to be excited about, just Palalives. Oh I also yesterday bought this other life sim called Live The Life, which is another one that acts like it's so realistic, but when I went to play it I found it to be horrible, the create a character part was bad, the hair literally looks like string, and they only have a about half a dozen stringy hairdos for at least females, you couldn't change their bodies much at all, just thin or fat, but no changing their shape or anything like that. Eyebrows didn't even come up, I couldn't find them anywhere, the makeup wouldn't even show up on my character. I wanted her to have green eyes, but all they had was what looked more like yellow eyes, then two blues, a couple browns and black eyes, which isn't even real, because humans don't actually have black eyes. A person can have a really dark brown, but not actual black, I found that out years ago by Googling it, and reading more then one article on it. But even The Sims seems to think they are real. Anyway, that game as been in early access since 2020, and has barely nothing to it now, and now the creator, which seems to just be one guy, is going multiplayer with it, he even used InZOI as a reason why, like that a good reason, I mean if the idea is to make something people like and not just make more money, then maybe just listen those who have bought the game. Because most of those commenting on his video and on Steam didn't seem to like that idea. They prefer it single player, but he lied and said most of the players asked for multiplayer. But we know why he is doing it, it's because the main game isn't doing well anyway, and he is just wanting to make more money off of it, because he will probably want people to pay monthly to play it online. I frankly don't think this guy was the least bit serious about creating a good life sim, he just wanted to make money off of disappointed Sims players. But of course I turned around and got my money back on the game, I mean it was on sale for $10.99,the lowest it has been since it was released, which is why I decided to give a look, also I knew Steam would likely give me my money back as long as I asked for it the same day, And it only took me playing it for 40 minutes, before I asked for a refund. The only reason I mentioned it was to warn others not to buy it, it's not even worth the $10.99, or actually $11.65 I believe with taxes. Anyway, can't wait for Paralives.
i’m just like you! you’re just like me! i don’t think enough people are concerned about Inzoi’s company. also, it’s really sad to see about Live the Life. a lot of players thought it had potential even if it needed a lot of fixes. idk why the dev changed direction so last second but i will say there was def demand for multiplayer, if you check the discussion section. there’s always at least some people who want it but yeah definitely not enough to justify this change
I can only hope paralives wont be stuck in JUST cozy and comfy cute space and will have some freedom to do more violent stuff as it develops, I NEED MY SWEET DRAMA
Paralives is such a promising game, but I have few concerns about the UI and graphic style of the game. While UI might be subject to change (unlikely but still), graphics are something that, probably, will stay as is. I feel uneasy about the amount of hand drawn pitch-black shadows on the character and about the black outlines. Everything is a bit too sharp and bright for my eye. I've been following Paralives for years now, I really hope I'll like it when it comes out! :)
I'm pretty sure the Devs said the black outlines will be able to be disabled. I'm also not a huge fan of the comic book style outlines and stuff and while I think it's cool that they have a unique style, I'd really like to see more clips without the outlines to see how it will look because personally I'll likely be disabling it. I'm hoping there's a good amount of graphics options to make things look a little less sharp and cartoony. The objects and backgrounds look much softer so I think there may be options to make the characters softer as well. Fingers crossed!
I'm ao excited for this game, I've already given up on the sims 4 and I'm currently playing the sims 3 because it's so much better and less overwhelming. but still, It'll be very refreshing to play something new and special like paralives, I can't wait
ive been following paralives since it was first announced years ago and im just so excited with each update they share. i dont usually do early access for games (im usually too late for it lol) but i so want to do this early access. being disabled in a couple ways its so meaningful to see me and my community in a game that shows life, and to also see a game really work HARD to make the representation good. being autistic, im real tired of media showing us as sheldon coopers and the fucking good doctor. even just showing fidget toys and ear defenders, something many actually autistic people use (even if i personally dont, tho i have a couple stim toys) just means so much. also personally i love the blush on the skintones. i love that its toggleable for ppl who dont want it, but for me its so realistic while also cartoony and stylised? like personally i am super red lol. most of the blush is on my face ofc, but like... even my finger knuckles blush a little. and the blush is also disability friendly! those of us with joint or autoimmune issues can often find those areas like joints red from inflammation, or people with skin conditions can be red there from skin conditions or dryness. its just :D i see so much of the human condition in paralives while still maintaining a happy and cartoony style of game. its the perfect balance imo. also i LOVE the art style!! its so unique and refreshing for video games. but i did love the art style of the walking dead game so.
Hey, I think your point about Paralives' art style is really interesting. I'm curious why you think other games might feel outdated in the future, but not this one.
I think because it's stylized not seeking realism. Like Until Dawn looks good now but might look ridiculous in a decade (it already got remastered) and Life is Strange got changed completely. But comparing to the unique styles of Minecraft, stardew valley, even MySims still look good decades later
@@MylingCyrus Ah, that makes much more sense when you put it that way. Thank you!! It makes me wonder, though, how "outdated" the realistic styles can become at this point. Looking at InZoi, for instance, it is insane how real the characters look. For that to become outdated would blow my mind, lol.
Honestly the level of dedication put into the game alone is enough to make me hyped on any level. My favorite thing that I'm looking forward to is the customization. From height to tattoo placement those are simple things that any life game should consider and deliver on
When will this game Paralives Release I am ready for this. This game is definitely the future I'll be happy to play it, the customization is my favorite. Everything is looking good here so far I wonder what else there is for Paralives great video! ❤
I can finally build freely and anything I want here, this is how a simulator games should be like, and games like this one deserve paying for since I don't like spending money on greedy game that gives nothing
Im really excited about everything tbh I love every aspect, even the artstyle I knew they were inspired by Life is Strange thats why I love it so much. I know the gameplay will innovate in a lot of aspect and the build mode is the best I've seen til this moment So I really feel excited for this project to finally come out this year
i freaking love how we can make the charecrere have diffrent height! it even wrote the height! sims has been out for so long and yet never chanched that.---
@ because they shared it in the same video they showed there was no grid lmao at least go watch their content before you start accusing it of being fake 😭
I recommend that people support this instead of purchasing the releases of Sims 1 and 2. Seriously, it's not even a remake or remaster. Maybe with the 30th anniversary, they'll release a remaster for another hefty price! 😂😂😂
I don't want a perfect game. I just want a game where I pay once and don't have to stare at paywalls all day long. I am not expecting the game to be fully featured in early access, so I will probably be waiting for the full release.
Great video! I'm really looking forward to this game. I actually didn't know that they are a Canadian studio... and I, being Canadian with the whole boycott American stuff thing going on, am now going to sign up for Patreon.
If the modding scene will integrate things it could be very interesting, but I am not that hyped. This game is managed by a very small team and they need modders here to improve the overall base game with content and maps. That what the sims offer with all the career stuff will surly be not that intense here in the beginning.
i don't think there is something i'm not excited about but, if there is something that's always on top of my list a standout art style. in recent years almost ever standout game has an art style that's too niche. i understand it sells but, it drives me away personally as i get bored of seeing nearly the same thing. so i end up taking breaks months at a time so i don't end up losing complete interest. a close 2nd would be building. it seems so seamless. i ended up rage quitting the sims 4 because walls and roofs would bug out if attached in certain ways. the 2nd time was because the ea client kept deleting itself every windows update.
This game looks amazing 9:12 but I wish the characters art style was more interesting? Idk it looks like a generic comic style and I wish the characters fit in better with their environment. Maybe there will be cc for them lol but the gameplay and building looks AMAZING
I can agree with that from art standpoint if they could just soften the harsh lines around the parafolk a little bit more it would look 10x better with that little bit of a difference but I’m honestly still excited
@@natasha9474 I could be mistaken, but I remember them saying those lines are optional! But I totally agree, I'm not a fan of the hyper realistic style, but idk Paralives' models feel like they're low poly versions of the actual thing.
are the careers gonna be less rabbithole-like and are we gonna have better socialization system? I keep seeing it and it makes me upset. Seeing everyone "forced" to talk to eachother doesn't make it feel right. I liked sims having their own interests and this just ruins that whole thing. What's the point.
Honestly I am so tired of the sims that even if Paralives is only half the game it promised in early access it is still worth the money I plan to spend on it upon release.
1. Its like The Sims and Second Life combined in some ways. 2. The Sims series, 2,3, and 4 had and have customization, whether in CAS or in world. 3. Why would I play this when I am already playing Th Sims. 4. Yes, yes, with this game they are able to do more. Only due to current year. 5. This may be fun for some, but will not be a be all end all Sims killer. 6. Will there be features, such as Vampirism, Werewolves, other. Growing fruits, vegetables, other. Events. Animals. Different life stages. Skills to learn. Families. Vehicles. Mod friendly. 7. To each their own. The art style. Too bright. Yes, we all know this is geared toward a female audience, which is nothing wrong. Yet, tone it down. Hard pass.
1. what second life aspects? it’s only a life sim. 2. yes it’s almost like something that simulates life requires customisation 3. if you can’t play 2 games at once, don’t. no one is forcing you to. 4. idk what to say man 5. ehhh no one said it would be 6. that’s a lot of questions but: 6a) no supernaturals planned at EA launch. 6b) we haven’t seen if there will be farming yet 6c) we haven’t seen if there will be events yet 6d) cats, dogs and horses are confirmed for a post-EA update. other critters may also come later. 6e) yes there’s life stages, and yes families. 6f) iirc there will be cars and there will be houseboats post-EA i believe 6g) yes we have modding tools- we have been told we’ll get the tools the devs use to add content to the game. 7. yeah arts subjective so i ain’t got much except they’re probably not gonna “tone” it down for you. the game is aimed at everyone, they just chose to go for more bright and optimistic than dark and moody. i’m sure a modder will come through for you.
Nope.. I was happy to hear when they say they were making a sim game , i was hyped as well. But they are way too late now. It's been forever and they have been collecting tons of money from patreon all these time. You might think it's "expensive" to make a game but it's not supporters job to pay peoples salary, we supported this game all this time and got nothing playable in return. And now in a couple months we will have inZoi. If they released before inZoi, it would still make it but I think there will be a lot of players will dodge this one to just play inZoi now.
Theyre releasing an alpha or whatever this year boobski Plus you may think ppl will flock to inzoi, but as a perzon who tries to download that CHARACTER CREATOR demo they released some time ago I, with a GOD PC that can run most pther games- couldn't even open inzoi! That game is so fucking needy half the playerbase won't even have the necessary shit to run it
@@silentpeep9033 It might be the case with system requirements yes. Although I guess most people who play Sims will be familiar with the situation because they usually play with mods and modded sims are quite heavy. Of course, this will not be the case for everyone. 🔻inZoi's high system requirements do not change this fact: Paralives was announced in 2019 and we are now in 2025. They have received support from Patreon for 6 years without offering any demos, character creation demos, etc. In such projects, if the team does not have money, they usually offer the game on Kickstarter. And if they cannot deliver what they promise in the promised time, the money will probably be returned to the backers. Patreon is a completely donation system. "Support" and keeping a company that has no income on its feet with donations are very different things.
I think Paralives will end up being one of those classics that everyone remembers for years, like Stardew Vallley in some ways...

This pair of lives looks like a good game
WHAT. Now I actually want to build something. I like the style of funky and cozy house previews. They have something that TS4 doesn't.
Yes I’ve said this too if they were to just soften those lines a little bit more it would look 100x better from an artistry standpoint
@@mjacwest ooh wait I had no idea they were giving the option to remove the harsh lines that honestly makes me even more excited than I already was
I'm ao excited for this game, I've already given up on the sims 4 and I'm currently playing the sims 3 because it's so much better and less overwhelming. but still, It'll be very refreshing to play something new and special like paralives, I can't wait
iM EXCITED FOR EVERYTHING ABOUT PARALIVES!
I cannot wait for Paralives. EA hasn't had competition until now
ive been following paralives since it was first announced years ago and im just so excited with each update they share. i dont usually do early access for games (im usually too late for it lol) but i so want to do this early access. being disabled in a couple ways its so meaningful to see me and my community in a game that shows life, and to also see a game really work HARD to make the representation good. being autistic, im real tired of media showing us as sheldon coopers and the fucking good doctor. even just showing fidget toys and ear defenders, something many actually autistic people use (even if i personally dont, tho i have a couple stim toys) just means so much. also personally i love the blush on the skintones. i love that its toggleable for ppl who dont want it, but for me its so realistic while also cartoony and stylised? like personally i am super red lol. most of the blush is on my face ofc, but like... even my finger knuckles blush a little. and the blush is also disability friendly! those of us with joint or autoimmune issues can often find those areas like joints red from inflammation, or people with skin conditions can be red there from skin conditions or dryness. its just :D i see so much of the human condition in paralives while still maintaining a happy and cartoony style of game. its the perfect balance imo. also i LOVE the art style!! its so unique and refreshing for video games. but i did love the art style of the walking dead game so.
been waiting for paralives for years! 😊😊😊
let's just wait more five or six years to release 🥰
For that to become outdated would blow my mind, lol.
i’ve been waiting since this game was announced to dive into it, absolutely cannot wait for it.
Honestly the level of dedication put into the game alone is enough to make me hyped on any level. My favorite thing that I'm looking forward to is the customization. From height to tattoo placement those are simple things that any life game should consider and deliver on
The modding of this game will be INSANE. I can't wait. ❤
I like the art style, it felt like Sims 4 was going for a cartoony look but didn't fully commit to it
Im really excited about everything tbh I love every aspect, even the artstyle I knew they were inspired by Life is Strange thats why I love it so much. I know the gameplay will innovate in a lot of aspect and the build mode is the best I've seen til this moment So I really feel excited for this project to finally come out this year
I will buy this game for sure when it comes out! So excited for it
im really not a fan of the graphics but i do hope this game does well, its time the sims have good competition
i freaking love how we can make the charecrere have diffrent height! it even wrote the height! sims has been out for so long and yet never chanched that.---
gonna be honest, not the fan of style but hyped up for devs who listen to community
I'm most excited for the colour wheel XD
There is no grid though? That will feel extremely overwhelming for those who aren't professional builders.
There is one, but in the video it's turned off
it can be snapped on and off
it’s just optional.
How do y'all even know that the game isn't out yet (provided it ever will be if it is indeed real)
@ because they shared it in the same video they showed there was no grid lmao
at least go watch their content before you start accusing it of being fake 😭
Yesssssss can’t wait 🎉🎉🎉
I think I just need lighting mods for this 😫 Other than that it's so perfect 😭😭😭
this game will fit in the cosy gaming characteristics
I recommend that people support this instead of purchasing the releases of Sims 1 and 2. Seriously, it's not even a remake or remaster. Maybe with the 30th anniversary, they'll release a remaster for another hefty price! 😂😂😂
i hope paralives will include wheelchairs!! one of my biggest pet peeves is
i'm so excited for paralives aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
We need this game more than ever since ea wants the Sims dead
I don't want a perfect game. I just want a game where I pay once and don't have to stare at paywalls all day long.
I am not expecting the game to be fully featured in early access, so I will probably be waiting for the full release.
Great video! I'm really looking forward to this game. I actually didn't know that they are a Canadian studio... and I, being Canadian with the whole boycott American stuff thing going on, am now going to sign up for Patreon.
Isn't it great? As a Canadian myself, it feels awesome to support them!
I can have my stim toys IN GAME?? YES PLEASE
ahh! I’m so excited for paralives!
I'm not sure if this will be able to replace the sims, but it will be for sure a fun game ✨
If the modding scene will integrate things it could be very interesting, but I am not that hyped. This game is managed by a very small team and they need modders here to improve the overall base game with content and maps. That what the sims offer with all the career stuff will surly be not that intense here in the beginning.
Are they gonna add Occult Paralives or not?
when does it comes out?????
It enters Early Access sometime this year!
I’m sold!!
I want a great live mode
the style is so overhated :(
I don’t like the way the Paras look. They look uncanny and weird against the world.
The Devs said one will be able to disable the black outlines. Maybe that will help you
If it's not on console I'm not playing it
I want to make my dream home =D
i don't think there is something i'm not excited about but, if there is something that's always on top of my list a standout art style. in recent years almost ever standout game has an art style that's too niche. i understand it sells but, it drives me away personally as i get bored of seeing nearly the same thing. so i end up taking breaks months at a time so i don't end up losing complete interest.
a close 2nd would be building. it seems so seamless. i ended up rage quitting the sims 4 because walls and roofs would bug out if attached in certain ways. the 2nd time was because the ea client kept deleting itself every windows update.
They said that they will support cc
are the careers gonna be less rabbithole-like and are we gonna have better socialization system? I keep seeing it and it makes me upset. Seeing everyone "forced" to talk to eachother doesn't make it feel right. I liked sims having their own interests and this just ruins that whole thing. What's the point.
Sims should be worried of course
It's taking forever
2. yes it’s almost like something that simulates life requires customisation
3. if you can’t play 2 games at once, don’t. no one is forcing you to.
4. idk what to say man
5. ehhh no one said it would be
6. that’s a lot of questions but:
6a) no supernaturals planned at EA launch.
6b) we haven’t seen if there will be farming yet
6c) we haven’t seen if there will be events yet
6d) cats, dogs and horses are confirmed for a post-EA update. other critters may also come later.
6e) yes there’s life stages, and yes families.
6f) iirc there will be cars and there will be houseboats post-EA i believe
6g) yes we have modding tools- we have been told we’ll get the tools the devs use to add content to the game.
7. yeah arts subjective so i ain’t got much except they’re probably not gonna “tone” it down for you. the game is aimed at everyone, they just chose to go for more bright and optimistic than dark and moody. i’m sure a modder will come through for you.
I thought this game was cancelled.
Nah, that was Life By You. RIP 🪦
The art style is abhorrent however
What a wild take 😂
Theyre releasing an alpha or whatever this year boobski
Plus you may think ppl will flock to inzoi, but as a perzon who tries to download that CHARACTER CREATOR demo they released some time ago I, with a GOD PC that can run most pther games- couldn't even open inzoi!
"Support" and keeping a company that has no income on its feet with donations are very different things.
you do realize the paralives dev team is way smaller than inzoi's right...? like tremendously smaller
They’re a small indie team they don’t have the big money sponsors behind them that Inzoi and Sims has that’s why they need Patreon support.
Nice mobile game.
