- Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway 4/2/24 with No. 2705 Beatrice Hunslet Tank Engine working the train.
The video shows the days locomotive shunting at first, then shunting the carriages into position before a ride along the line from Embsay station to Bolton Abbey station. I've not visited this line for around 20 years, so it was great to see the progress that has been made since then. Bolton Abbey station in particular has come a long way and it was fantastic to see the trains so full and the line thriving despite the terrible weather. I travelled in a beautifully restored first class carriage on the day, but standard class and dining experiences are also available.

Very awesome
Thank you!
@@iskra1234 your welcome
Interesting. I’ve never been on the line but the scenery (if not the weather!) looks nice. The line itself looks reasonably tidy too compared to some.
What was in the middle coach (the van) on the train?
Yes, the scenery is very pleasant and there’s also some nice walks starting at Bolton Abbey station to the Abbey itself. The BG had a very modern looking kitchen onboard as well as presumably some accommodation for the guard as that’s where they dispatched from. It was quite interesting to have a full brake in the formation as that’s quite rare, but it looked good I thought :)
Yeah definitely. Thanks Iskra. 👍
