Hopper

In this video, our volunteer Fabio Malaspina shows you how to tie a "Hopper" foam fly. This is an attractor fly that imitates a grasshopper or some other terrestrial insect. You can use it to target panfish, bass, trout, and carp.
Materials list:
Thread: 140 Denier Chartreuse
Hook: Curved 2XL nymph hook size 8 down to 14. I used a Daiichi 1260 size 10
Under Body: Four strands of Peacock herl
Body: Chartreuse 2mm foam. You can tie it in other colors, brown, orange, black, yellow, etc..
Wing: Bleached elk hair with pearl Krystal flash (optional)
Indicator tag: Yellow 2 mm foam, or other colors
Fly tying skill set rating = Intermediate
