Agreed. Geralt is considered (and called) a freak and worse yet he is literally the one person who would stand between them and the dangerous monsters that inhabit that world. This is why I love the series. It's grim and there are no right answers.
That's why Gerald was concerned what the bard was doing. Because he was over exaggerating the story, making it seem like he killed the elves. Gerald was concerned whether to let him sing with disrespect towards the elves but gratifying the witcher or to shut up. The lesser of evils basically. Jaskier even said in the show "respect doesn't make history" this quote alone was extremely humane. It shows both, how the bard is a bootlicker to the Victors of history (humans vs Scoia'Tael) and how humans are in a way just like monsters. I think the witcher came to the conclusion that the bard, though saying a false story and being disrespectful, is doing a greater good by hiding the elves's identity and by promoting the witcher so locals don't attack the monsters and rather hire the witcher to do the job.

What I really like about this song is that we're hearing Geralt's legend grow. At first, only Dandelion is singing, but as his song grows in popularity and reaches more people, so too does the orchestra, the volume. It's also done as the scene changes to indicate that the song is heard all around, as reinforced in a later episode when all of the villagers in the tavern sing along with Jaskier. This is also when the show reminds us that, although the main characters are uninterested in his poetry, Dandelion is a truly renowned and extremely talented bard. Good storytelling.

The characters are the only part of the show that is adapted well. Most of the short-stories that they adapt in S1 needed atleast an entire episode to themselves, but they instead had the episodes split between three different plot-branches, which meant that most of Geralt's adventures had a lot of nuance and actual development cut out. The fact that writers are not fan of the source material, make me think as to why do they even do the job then? Good on Henry for putting so much effort in a show.
So many have criticized this series but the truth really is that they have done quite well with what they had to work with. The show season 1 and 2 are great without question. The actors/actresses have done exceptional especially considering that fantasy can be very difficult to portray. They should all be proud of what this has become and what it will be in the future.
If Cavill ran the show it wouldve been even better. Hopefully if warhammer does happen and he runs it, it'll be all by the book 1:1 with of course some sensible adapting because of budget reasons.
My favorite thing about Geralt is the fact that he seems genuinely mad about his friends making him feel stuff. He's cultivated this image as a monster slaying emotionless sentinel but a pretty woman, a goofball bard, or a little girl can make it clear he has all the feelings within a day of knowing him.

jaskier is actually eredin and the wild hunt is the orchestra
@@josabu2533 lmao
@@canisterbottournament he sure in facts his power has grown so much that he even gave those people who call mortals money so they can document it
Might be the best scene in the whole season imo
i absolutely LOVE how they used the music to create extra mood during the eel scene. when the camera goes to the outside, the music swells with the chorus. im a film student, so this is super fuckin cool to me and im probably rambling
Considering Joey was sick when he recorded this...AWESOME. Imagine what it would sound like when he's in top form!!
We stan because he went in for no reason at all and killed it effortlessly.
this scene gave me goosebumps not only for the tune but the changing scene, that Tissaia look told it all
the change from jaskiers singing to the orchestra kicking in and the studio version playing is just chilling
Jaskier: Respect doesn't make history.
Geralt: Hmmmm( U r damn right)
I thought Jaskier was a little cringey when I first heard him sing but damn this song changed everything. I’m really glad I kept watching
The fact that writers are not fan of the source material, make me think as to why do they even do the job then? Good on Henry for putting so much effort in a show.
Hearing this is bittersweet knowing the Witcher ends with Henry's curtaincall at the end of season 3.
Epic Level Bard rolls critical success in a perfromace check..
So many have criticized this series but the truth really is that they have done quite well with what they had to work with. The show season 1 and 2 are great without question. The actors/actresses have done exceptional especially considering that fantasy can be very difficult to portray. They should all be proud of what this has become and what it will be in the future.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
i agree that its not a bad show, but it doesnt make justice to the books in term of pure story, tho i have mad respect for the production and cast
If Cavill ran the show it wouldve been even better. Hopefully if warhammer does happen and he runs it, it'll be all by the book 1:1 with of course some sensible adapting because of budget reasons.
I want this in the game ;(
Mrpiggyguy no it's so modern it won't fit
@@davecarterNV5 dafuq u talking about dude
A song about a witcher is modern???
Mrpiggyguy this one is nerd the way he sings is very pop
Dave Carter tf are you talking about? This is a song that would fit in the Witcher
@@davecarterNV5 i bet you never play any Witcher games it will fit perfectly XD
It's agreeable that we watched the show for jaskier
Wait there's more reasons to watch that aren't just Gerald and Jaskier and then Geralt & Jaskier being in the same place?
My favorite thing about Geralt is the fact that he seems genuinely mad about his friends making him feel stuff.
He's cultivated this image as a monster slaying emotionless sentinel but a pretty woman, a goofball bard, or a little girl can make it clear he has all the feelings within a day of knowing him.
Jaskier in 1st verse: toss a coin to your witcher
Jaskier in last verses : *please please please just give coins to witcher*
This series should be so much more
This was the moment I realized I was beyond happy with this show. Such an amazing job... Sorry for ever doubting it.
I gotta be honest, I didn't like Dandelion at first but the more I learned about him the more I started to like him. He's like a really good friend. This song makes me like him even more
"respect doesn't make history" this one line changed my whole thought process
So awesome, so magic,
great job!!!!!!!
Iconic moment in tv HISTORY.
That "Smoldering Intensity" skill sure is nice.
I've watched a lot of TV series, but there has never been a soundtrack that impressed me as much as this music.🎵✌
Try HBO Succession opening credits.
The fact that jaskier went hard on this song, it got stuck in my head instantly
This song is awesome! Playing the wild hunt brought me to the series and the 2nd episode brought me here. Thanks for the upload! Can’t stop listening!!
One of the most memorable original songs from a movie or series soundtrack.
this is how they ask you to join patreon in the witcher universe
I haven’t listened to this for ages...I got goosebumps. It’s going to be stuck in my head now for the next few weeks!
I was watching the first 2 episodes and I had no clue what the names were or the story and it was really boring. But then I saw this scene and I was like, this is something special
I like your profile picture
moment of silence for peak Witcher. it won’t be the same anymore.
Now many fans are signing a petition to remove the useless showrunners who caused a loyal fan to leave the initially promising project if they did not do what was done. If you are interested I can share the link to the petition with you, at least this is how we can support Henry and his great performance of The Witcher.
Fun fact Joey (aka jaskier) has a band called The Amazing Devil, you should definitely go check it out, especially the album The Horror And The Wild which was released this year. His voice was what got me to watch The Witcher
I really hope when this show eventually ends, it plays this song with Geralt slowly riding off into the sunset
Year old comment, and know we know it won’t be Geralt. Cavils gone.
This series is WAY better than I anticipated. I'm enjoying it almost as much as I did the early seasons of Game of Thrones.
Yes me too I just rewatch it again and December can’t get here fast enough!!!
This music is absolutely legendary. This is even better than most songs I listen to on my car’s radio. I never knew that classical/Middle Ages style music sounded this good.
I remember getting goosebumps @1:16. Damn, jaskier, where did you get the coin for that production!?!?
Jaskier went all out and I'm here for it. So much that I've downloaded this song. I'm living!
Still jamming out to this song with zero shame.
Jaskier is such an amazing singer! We need more musicals by him!❤️❤️
Now we revisit this video for the destroyed hope we once had for this series. Though remember we still have the books and the games my brothers and sisters who follow the path xx we still live in a valley of plenty for what we have been given.
This is the episode that got me hooked. This song at the end was the icing on the cake.
Episode 2 was unarguably the best one yet, and all just because of Jaskier honestly. Wish he had way more scenes and songs
Riding behind a man who showers you with song. It must feel good.😎
I just saw this for the first time in my life, tonight, and there’s NO WAY, that I’m not listening to this while walking to work tomorrow morning. Haha
0:54 This is the saddest scene from Season 1 where Yennefer pushes her "Sisters" into the water of the Tower of the Gull...
The real MVP here is Jaskier's lute. It's so powerful that it summoned an entire orchestra.
this scene is soo good my god i have goosebumbs
I like these 2 working together. Geralt and Jaskier must live till the end or *WE RIOT!*
The games take place after the novels, which means Geralt and Jaskier must either survive the novels or they used some trick to bring them back.
I still remember the quarantine, and rightfully so, that this is one of the songs that helped me make it through....
Don't lie.. this isn't your first time watching this video
Me guilty asf still hitting the replay button for the 9000th time with absolutely no shame.
Actually this is my first time here 🙂
I can’t get over how awesome this is
Saw the song before I just binged the first season. Never read the books or played the game but Netflix have done it justice from where I stand
How would you know if you've never read the books or games
Game was damn good
It really didn't if you knew the books or games
Dave Carter I know the games and I think it did do it justice
KuwakaNey listen twat I think it has a modern pop sound, and I think you can hear that at least ew.
I guess I don't like modern pop and I see this as just that
The scenes along with this awesome song makes it feel like an epic mythology🔱🔱
I love the songs in season 2 but none dethrone this legend!
This scene gassed me up so much, I was jumping around my room straight vibing
His "hmmm" quite literally translates to "godamn this shit goes hard"

I love this, it's like everything a minstral (bard) was in the Middle Ages. A Star Wars fan out there should parody this song to focus on a Jedi during Galactic Empire, it would be perfect!
Jaskier: "Respect doesn't make history."
Geralt (thinking to himself): Bro has a point. Well, fuck.
The song made history and is in everyone’s mind, while The Witcher replies with “Hmmm”😝😉
Toss a coin to your glitcher, O' valley of gwenty
Under rated
I know none about the game the books absolutely nada and i absolutely love this series and this song!
Respect doesn't make history.
But this song does.
That song makes me something. I don't know how to explain that... I'm just feeling so good. That song is so amazing. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Superman fits the witcher the most. thx for acting this role. :)
i got goosebumps listening to the change in sound
