    As an owner of one of these, I'll give you a few tips for this car. If you want a really nice intake, VCM makes an awesome over the radiator intake. Will gain you a good 30-50HP and looks awesome! Also, get rid of the D.O.D! It will most likely fail at some point. One of the lifters will collapse over time. Also, for the rear mufflers, look into the Solo axlebacks. They run about $470. Kooks does make a really nice exhaust setup for this, it's pretty pricey, but sounds so amazing! I have Kooks 1-7/8" long tube headers, Kooks catless X pipe, and solo axlebacks and it sounds so awesome! (I have a video up on my channel after the exhaust install. With the otr intake, full exhaust and dyno tune, plus underdrive pulley, I'm at about 370HP to the rear wheels. Just some thoughts for ya. Also the camaro 3.27s are a direct swap to get rid of the 2.92s. Have fun with her man. She's a helluva car!

      I want to do a lot of the stuff you mentioned but unfortunately, I live in California where they are not mod-friendly (loud exhaust ticket is now a straight up $1000 fine as opposed to the fix-it ticket it was before). Plus a "ref ticket" is a big thing out here too. If you get pulled over and they think you have equipment that is not CA SMOG legal, you get sent to a special station that does a more thorough inspection of your vehicle to make sure it is legal.
      Someday I will get all/most of the stuff you listed, but for now it'll stay (mostly) stock performance.

      @@WillsBuilds oh dude. I'm sorry to hear that! It's pretty sad how bad California has become. It's too bad they make you go through all of that and dont let you have any freedom with your own vehicle. But at least you got a caprice man. It's a fun car no matter what! Good luck out there in commiefornia.

      @@WillsBuilds Here's some friendly advice for being a cool dude and owning such a sweet car......
      GET-THE-FUCK-OUT-OF-COMMIEFORNIA!!!!!
      You will never get to enjoy the performance of that car especially with any type of mods and tuning.
      That is unless you take a chance and take'er somewhere across the Mojave where there is absolutely nothing but no man's land.
      Even then, you still have to be very careful and keep your eyes open for CHP.
      The laws are awful in that fucking state and one can no longer enjoy the use of nice performance vehicles and especially firearms

    Love the car and I’d say you are spot on with the mods you want to do. They make wheel covers for the steel wheels. You could pant them any color, if you are looking to save money. I like the push bumper too but if you want to lose weight that should be the first to go. I think these cars are the best highway police car. Loved driving them when we had them in our fleet. Look forward to some more videos

      Thanks! I'm still not 100% sure what I really want this car's main purpose to be (other than my DD) but I know I want it to not only be good at one thing. I want it to be able to handle decent, drive well enough on the freeway for road trips, and still go down a drag strip in a timely manner.

    in AUSTRALIA those cars are every where .They were not made longer for "convicts", they are simply a Long wheel base car.. :] Also get the orange LEDs that go in the guards....thats what we have not some plastic blank out peace out

      I know they're all that length over there but everything I've read is that they chose this chassis over the VE/VF because they wanted the extra room in the back for the cage while still having plenty of leg room

      @@WillsBuilds The LED turn signals came standard on the long wheelbase models as was the Led tail lights. I guess the U.S didnt get them ..different Laws/ D.O.T standards ??..also look into [if u want] installing the heated/puddle light mirrors an door lights, im not sure if those were fitted to PPV's .. and hey when the factory infotainment fails as they do /common\ requiring the VIN to be flashed [vin relearn] thats a spastic/retarded idea. anyway enjoy your Holden Statesman they are nice/ fun cars.

      @@WillsBuilds sorry for the delay I'd lost my phone....an had to re connect my service.... Yes there is a lamp fitted underneath the mirror as well as the lamps fitted directly underneath the door trim the Statesman definitely has the wiring the light on the mirror is powered by a brown wire coming from the BCM but may require activation via Tech 2. I have a regular VE sedan that was a police highway patrol vehicle I do say regular but is based on the SV6 and unlike the black and white that you guys have ours are simply white and also cuts through the traffic with ease or perhaps I shouldn't say that hahaha there is nothing like a good used Commodore. I brought two of them pre-auction as at the time I was working for the state government but since my heart operation now retired over there I think you guys caught it state department anyway mind is quite modified now having a ex police vehicle is handy in some ways with extra power pick up points including all of the navigation and everything else but is installed ready for it's application anyway hope you do well with yours speak soon

    Remove the pushbar and spotlight and install nice wheels would take away some of the cop car look. Don't be surprised you get pulled over at times until you remove the cop car aspect. We own 2 of these. We own an SS and a G8 as well. We own a Taurus SHO and an interceptor. We have a charger 392 hemi and a police unit. Our twin turbo SHO AWD is the fastest of the lot.

      Never been pulled over for looking like a cop car in the 3 years I've owned it. Never even been been questioned about the lights that are on it. All the cop cars in my area in CA are either all white, or black with white doors.

    Why do you want to keep the DOD why not delete it

    • @WillsBuilds
      @WillsBuilds  6 лет назад +1

      Mostly because of gas mileage since this is my daily driver and not an all-out race car. There is aftermarket DOD cam grinds out there but it's very limited on total valve lift, somewhere around .500 i believe. Since making this video, I have seen people say with a DOD delete and a good tune, they managed to get similar MPGs so we'll see.
      Also, my DOD is still working great. If it ever fails/throws a CEL, I'll make a decision then but for now, i'm keeping it.

      Currently at 152,xxx miles with no issues. There is no definitive answer on when DOD fails, nor if turning it off in the tune will make it last longer or not. I'll update everyone when it does eventually fail

    Hey mate why don't you do something totally different for your car in America in Australia The Statesman and caprese are high in Luxury Cars more luxurious then your SS Chevrolet Google what the cars are in Australia and look at inside the interior of those were priests and statements statesmans and compresses are the same car in Australia they competed up against the Chrysler 300 and other luxury big cars they were never designed as a cop car here in Australia if you do that you will have something totally different over there

    • @WillsBuilds
      @WillsBuilds  5 лет назад

      Honestly, I would LOVE to do that but it would be EXTREMELY expensive. Just basic Holden parts like grills and spoilers bring around $300 each. There are a couple people that have the Holden bumpers on their Caprice and Commodores (Chevy SS) and they probably have close to $10k just in body panels. I can only imagine shipping a full interior across the ocean but I would love to!
