Plus, he only really destroys is because he KNOWS we're stronger than him, and he doesn't believe he deserves mercy.
His trident seems to contain DT or something else going on, but it's not a casual trident for sure or else it would be white just like many other weapons during battles

despite what everyone says i really LIKED how the vocals were quiet, Asgore isn't a raging king, not anymore by the time of when Frisk falls down in the slightest. he's VERY calm and collected and even rivals SANS' level of plain patience. and the certain vocals sounding more angry or fed up actually fit PERFECTLY for the volume change! like at 1:56 it fits perfectly how you snarl your voice and get louder! Asgore at this rate has already sung about everything calm and tried to stay kind and make it quick, but now that the human is lasting this long he starts venting about the burden he feels i feel like 2:09 has a bit of a long pause but the good DEFINITELY outweighs the bad on this song. similar to Undertale itself this cover features Asgore as he is in the main battle, calm and serious. but i'm already hyped for a GENOCIDE cover of an Asgore song, i already can imagine the serious and yelling, raging vengeful voice that he would bring. keep doin' what'cha doin' man! it's incredible!!

While sans is a lazy skeleton, popped outa thin air so as papyrus, he’s just an interesting character nothing cool, no one even fucking knows if MysteryMan is fucking Gaster, the skeletons just suck.
