Random fact: while purple spice is usually the most valuable, no spice is valuable among all planets. It’s based on what spices they have in their star system (I think) or something among those lines. So for example, selling red spice to a planet with red spice will make it very cheap when sold, while if you sell it to a blue spice planet for example, it is worth a lot more.
The spice color the planet produces will always be bought for the "minimum" price, along with 2 other colors randomly chosen. Then the 3 remaining colors will chose one of the higher market prices :)
Can I just express how much I love the little achievements in the thumbnails... like even the ranking video got one. It also helps recognize your channel at a glance, really cool stuff
I love your videos. Every time I see your video in my feed I click on it instantly. I don't even have a burning desire for sport videos I just like the way you make your specific videos. Thank you for making great videos
This might be a long shot but have you considered a grox destruction speedrun? I've talked with some people saying it could probably be done under 50hrs (usually the time it takes if you're doing a casual run with rushing to defeat them in mind) and after doing a playthrough where I've defeated them I'd say I have to agree. I wonder how well it could be done optimally. Definitely a long run idk if that's really your thing
For something this long I'd probably just time how long we spent in-game, though I think a true "speedrun" time would be the actual time past so I would keep note of it as well :)
@@KinglyValence if you were to do just the time passed I think it's possible in one sitting if you optimized it well enough, it would definitely make a great title(but whether you'd want to be awake for like 40 hours is another thing) Keep in mind the 50 hour mark is done very unoptimally with no glitches, you could shave off a substantial amount of time I think. Especially in the actual war since people use the antimatter bombs and meteor calls rather than volcanoes and fanatical frenzies (best used on tier 2 and 3 systems with more than 2 claimed planets), which I believe is substantially faster.
@@matatic Yeah I think I would mostly use Fanatical Frenzy and then reload the game glitch to use it again quickly. I wonder how much time would be taken RTA in just loading screens lol (each one is like 10 seconds). That way the Grox wouldn't even have to be at war while we take them over!
@@KinglyValence would it really matter if you were at war or not? They attack you either way and you have the invincible ship glitch to make that not a worry at all. The fanatical frenzy animation is definitely longer than just dropping a volcano at their cities in tier 1 or 2 systems with like 1 or 2 planets, which take up most of their systems
Heyyy, incredibly good videos you have. Clearly a lot of work is being put into their creation. I have an idea for a challenge run maybe? How about wiping out all Grox from the galaxy? Like every planet they hold, completely evaporating their species from the galaxy. Whatever means you see fit. Allying all others and winning via unified front, singlehandedly fighting them. Very hard and time consuming, believe me I know, but I thought it might be interesting.
This game was my childhood and I've always wanted to be a speedrunner. I feel like this would be a good place to start because there's no crazy glitches with 1 second input frames or button mashing for minutes on end or skipping 90% of the game in one glitch, just some good old fashioned resource management and prioritization
Creature and Tribal Stages are a bit more glitch heavy for specific timing and quick inputs but overall Spore is far more optimization and resource management which is also why I like this speedrun as well! Let me know if you get into speedrunning! I'd love to hear your progress and see your times on the leaderboard!
Hey bro i love your vids i always played spore as a kid, and loved space stage, and i wanted to do some of my own challenges but my pc broke, so can you do a series where you try to colonize as much stars as possible? Starting from cell obviously, i would love it, just so it inst boring, here is a few goals if you wanna do them: 1. Be the richest 2. Ally the grox and then backstab them (also idk if this is common knowledge but the grox really hate life, so here is a tip incase its not, use the thing steve gives you to terraform their planets to T3 to kill them instantly) 3. Ally as much people as possible after allying with the grox, and then backstab them to conquer all the stars in the galaxy 4. Be super agressive to show you are the best species ever! And if you wanna do something else you can! I would really love to see someone do this, i never saw anyone do it, they always abandon the space stage and do another challenge, thats all goodbye!
Might be one of the most fun runs I've seen yet! Do you think you could do NG+ with a specific archetype? I'm wondering if Fanatical Frenzy on empire home planets would speed up getting buildings
Thank you! Using Fanatical Frenzy doesn't count towards the Colonist badge, unfortunately. And if we sell buildings we lose Colonist progress as well, and the count can even go negative! For NG+ having another save make T3 planets ready to go for colonizing would save a lot of time terraforming. Getting Colonist 5 faster would be worth not getting the Terraforming badges as well, and getting spice for free by NG+ would be helpful too!
This was super cool! Your route was super efficient and is crazy that you can get the highest rank in less than an hour. Maybe you can try and do an all badges speedrun at some point? I know some badges lock you out of others but wondering what could be the 100% in a normal playthrough.
The Split Personality mission to become a Diplomat (ally 5 empires) I think is the fastest and easiest of those missions. Becoming a Shaman by painting/sculpting 150 different planets might be the longest haha.
Btw if you're trying to lvl up brain surgeon you must not be in a planet or solar system for a planet to uplift even if you're in a random planet/solar system if you want to maximize time save off of that badge. You probably need to buffer sculpting tools just before you exit the solar system to save on time for that since it can add up.
Oh yeah, I realized that after completing the run as well. Thankfully it worked out because of needing the extra Frequent Flyer. Knowing this now I would have done the Sightseer badge after placing the 10th Monolith to give them some time since that is a lot of flying outside of systems.
I don't think officially, but I would think getting all badges but also getting every different type of Artifact and Storybook planet to complete the Collections list, but those might take a realllly long time haha.
Are artifacts/storybook planetry predictable or manipulatable in any way? Aside from taking many many hours, how tedious of a run would it be? @@KinglyValence
@@LotsOfS Artifact star system locations are consistent but the artifacts themselves are random. So trying to get each kind would be a lot of luck. Storybook planets are random at each system. Each system I believe could have a storybook planet, but it's just really low chance to spawn.
Can you do a video comparing creature speeds for various leg joints and feet? I think having two one-boned legs (left and right, costing 15 dna plus a foot) is the slowest possible leg, with standard 2 bone legs being the fastest, but strangely one bone one leg (center) might be faster than one bown two leg? And other such combinations for various numbers of knees and feet
That's interesting, I didn't thing the legs gave different speed, I thought it was all entirely in the feet's speed level haha. I'll try to look into it! :)

Do you think you'd be able to speedrun Spore with the language changed? Or even run through one of those mods that runs it through Google translate several times until it becomes jumbled before going back to English? I bet you'd still beat Spore faster than anybody else PLUS you'd see some funny gibberish if you had it translated many times back to English.
@@KinglyValence I didn't even think about Steve at the center! That would be so much fun!
